Chapter 22: Antique Market

Morning sunlight filled the living room. Long Tian had just finished his breakfast. Since he had the day off today and tomorrow, he didn’t rush through his meal.

"BREAKING NEWS: Eight bodies were found in an abandoned building early this morning. Police believe one victim was murdered by the others before the group committed suicide..."

Long Tian walked into the living room and saw the news on the television.

He saw images of the dead victim and suspects, with a familiar face among them.

A young man wearing accessories all over his body.

"Oh, I almost forgot about them," he chuckled.

They finished faster than he expected. He left them alive so they could kill the young man who sent them.

He didn’t want to get his hands dirty.

And when they killed him, they should immediately commit suicide, which would hide everything about him.

Meanwhile, in another villa, a middle-aged man was pacing back and forth, his face filled with anger and grief.

His hands trembled as he looked at the report.

"Who dares kill my son?!"

He sat down and looked at his butler. "Investigate his actions and movements for the past week."

He didn’t believe these seven men were the main culprits; if they were, they wouldn’t have committed suicide.

The butler nodded and left the villa immediately.

"My son, I will make sure your soul rests in peace," the middle-aged man said with determination.

He had lost his wife early, and his son was the only family he had left.

He had to avenge him.

Long Tian boarded a cab, unaware that someone was trying to find him.

His destination was an antique market.

It would be the best place to start his real business and gather money to buy herbs for tomorrow.

He reached his destination, paid the taxi driver, and turned to see the bustling crowd in the market.

It seemed he had chosen the right location.

He walked into the antique market, watching different stores marketing their items.

Vendors shouted, advertising ancient vases and jade pendants.

The market was filled with the smell of dust and old wood.

With his Mystic Dragon Eye, he was able to find out that most of the items were fake; only a few were original.

He bought a set of needles that he could see.

He walked through the market, looking for the best location for his business: a large space.

After a brief walk, he found a good spot, but it had already been occupied by someone.

He walked toward the person, a middle-aged man.

When the middle-aged man saw Long Tian, he thought he was a customer.

"Welcome to my store. What would you like to buy? There are antique items from different dynasties. Should I show you?" the middle-aged man asked.

Long Tian glanced at what he was selling and saw that all of them were fake.

"I want to borrow your spot and shop for two days. I will give you five hundred thousand to settle yourself," Long Tian proposed.

The middle-aged man looked at Long Tian. This wasn’t something uncommon; most people came to rent shops here.

Five hundred thousand was a huge amount for rent for two days.

Looking at the clothes Long Tian wore and the aura he exuded, it showed that he was likely a rich heir.

If he could take advantage of this to make more money, his eyes glowed with greed.

Long Tian saw those greedy eyes and snickered inwardly.

"And this is the highest amount I can give. I can see that all of your items are fake. Do you want me to list them out?" Long Tian shot him a cold glare.

The middle-aged man flinched under Long Tian’s gaze. He knew Long Tian’s words were true, and he didn’t dare take the risk that Long Tian was bluffing.

He immediately packed everything, collected his payment, and left Long Tian with the shop.

After a few minutes, he hung a banner.

"DIVINE DOCTOR: ABLE TO CURE ALL ILLNESSES."

It was time to make use of his divine doctor skills.

An hour passed, but no one stopped by his stall. All they did was glance at it while laughing when they read the words he had written.

He was thought to be a scammer. Even doctors couldn’t say they could cure all illnesses.

Two hours passed...

Three hours passed...

Long Tian had no customers. His patience didn’t wear out; all he needed was a single person, and he was sure customers would rush in afterward.

As he was waiting, trouble came.

"Hey, what kind of stall is this? Anyways, young man, you have to pay your protection fee."

A gang of young men burst in. Their leader had spiked hair, and his body was packed with muscles.

Long Tian’s slightly closed eyes opened.

"Sorry, I don’t need your help."

"Humph, that doesn’t concern us. You either pay or we smash your shop," their leader roared, signaling his men to get ready to smash everything.

A crowd quickly gathered.

They shook their heads.

It seemed another victim had appeared. They looked at Long Tian with sympathy.

The reputation of this gang was well known in this antique market.

Long Tian felt irked by their disturbance. He was planning to discipline them when he noticed something surprising about their leader, which made him chuckle.

The leader heard his chuckle and frowned, thinking Long Tian was mocking him.

"Brat, what are you laughing at?" he growled.

Long Tian looked at him calmly.

His gaze swept across the man’s body once before he spoke casually.

"You should worry about yourself first."

The leader’s face darkened."What nonsense are you talking about?"

Long Tian leaned back in his chair, looking completely relaxed.

"You feel a sharp pain in your chest every night around midnight."

The gang leader’s expression froze.

"You also experience shortness of breath whenever you exert yourself."

The leader’s pupils shrank. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

"And every morning when you wake up," Long Tian continued lazily, "your left arm feels numb for a few minutes."

The gang leader suddenly staggered back.

"How... how do you know that?"

The crowd around them became quiet.

Long Tian looked at him with slight amusement.

"You think those are small problems?"

He tapped the table lightly.

"Your heart meridian is already damaged. Blood flow is irregular, and your heart can’t handle it anymore."

The leader’s breathing became heavy.

"You have at most three months to live."

The crowd erupted in shock.

"Three months?!"

"No way!"

"Is that true?!"

The gang leader’s face turned pale.

"You... you’re lying!" he shouted, but his voice lacked confidence.

As if to prove Long Tian wrong, he stepped forward and suddenly his body trembled as a sharp pain exploded in his chest.

"Ugh!"

He clutched his chest and collapsed to one knee, sweating heavily.

His breathing became rough and uneven.

The gang members panicked.

"Boss!"

"Boss, what’s wrong?!"

The crowd stared at Long Tian in disbelief. Long Tian sighed and shook his head.

"You shouldn’t get excited when your heart is this weak."

The gang leader looked up at him desperately.

"You... you can cure this?"

Long Tian closed his eyes again.

"I said it already."

He pointed at the banner above him.

"DIVINE DOCTOR: ABLE TO CURE ALL ILLNESSES"

The gang leader clenched his teeth before suddenly lowering his head.

"Doctor... please save me."

The entire market fell silent.
