My Dominant Contract Husband Won't Let Me Go-Chapter 558: Might Never Walk Again (4)
Five hours passed, and the light of the operating room finally went out. The door was pushed open, and a doctor in a white coat walked out slowly while removing his mask.
A quick gleam flashed in Dong Xin Yan’s eyes. She quickly stood up and walked towards the doctor, "Doctor, how is Ziyang?"
Mrs. Cheng also followed quickly, her eyes looking at the doctor with both anticipation and anxiety. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
After the doctor completely removed his mask, he glanced at Mrs. Cheng and Dong Xin Yan, and began to speak in a consistently calm tone, "The patient is seriously injured, but fortunately, he was brought in time, so currently, there’s no immediate threat to his life."
No threat to life...
Such a simple phrase, yet it carried significant weight.
The heart that Dong Xin Yan held so high finally loosened a little, he’s okay, he’s okay, he’s okay, thank goodness he’s okay.
"However...," The doctor paused for a moment, then continued, "When the patient was impacted, his legs absorbed most of the blow, resulting in multiple fractures and severe ligament damage. His leg nerves were also severely injured. Although we performed an emergency repair, we cannot yet determine the effectiveness. We must wait until the patient wakes up for a detailed examination."
Just as she began to relax a bit, her heart was suddenly raised high again. Dong Xin Yan’s eyes widened, her lips trembled, opening and closing several times initially but unable to sound a word.
Beside her, Mrs. Cheng was in a similar state.
Finally, it was Sister in law Li who maintained some composure, her voice equally raspy, "Then... what might be the consequences?"
The doctor pondered for a moment, choosing his words carefully, "It’s hard to say right now, but the worst outcome is that the patient may never walk again."
Never walk again...
Does that mean that Ziyang will lose the use of his legs?
Dong Xin Yan shook her head in disbelief. The bright overhead lamp shone directly down, casting her face into a pale mask. She staggered back unconsciously, nearly unable to stay on her feet.
Hearing the doctor’s words, Mrs. Cheng’s eyes widened, then her vision went black, and she fainted.
"Madam... how are you, madam!" Sister in law Li shouted anxiously, unable to support Mrs. Cheng’s collapsing body alone, she quickly turned to call Dong Xin Yan, "Xinxin, quickly, come help with Madam."
Dong Xin Yan forced herself to stabilize, quickly regained her composure, stepped forward, and reached out to support Mrs. Cheng.
But perhaps due to her own exhaustion, at that moment, she found her limbs almost devoid of strength, unable to hold Mrs. Cheng up. Sister in law Li, beads of sweat on her forehead, urged anxiously, "Xinxin, go call for help, quickly!"
"Okay, okay."
Yet before Dong Xin Yan could move forward, several nurses hurriedly came over with a stretcher and skillfully helped Mrs. Cheng onto it, then pushed her towards the ward.
Sister in law Li hastily left a sentence, "Xinxin, you wait here for the young master to come out. I’ll go with Madam." That said, she followed the stretcher, leaving Dong Xin Yan alone in place.
Dong Xin Yan stood dazed for a few seconds, as if all strength had suddenly been drained from her body. Without warning, her entire body went limp and she fell straight back.
At the moment she was about to hit the ground, an arm wrapped around her waist. The next second, she was drawn into a large, familiar embrace.
