My Dragon King System-Chapter 298: Setting it all into Order
It seemed the dragons had come to that conclusion when Thyron spoke up.
"Well, what will you do with all these gods here?" she asked, gesturing toward the frozen figures scattered throughout the Pocket Domain.
Aiden turned toward her.
"I pulled them away because they were obviously Samael’s prime target," he said.
He paused, then continued.
"We are all unsure how Samael gained his new form, but nothing is to say it isn’t linked to his power of evolution. Bringing these gods here was done to prevent him from being able to absorb their fragments of transcendence, which would further add to his already terrifying power."
Thyron nodded slowly in understanding.
Aiden then added, "Also, there’s something else."
He snapped his fingers, and Lilith’s frozen form materialized before him and the other dragons.
She hovered in midair, suspended in the exact position she had been in when time stopped.
Her red eyes were wide open, her mouth slightly parted as though she had been about to speak.
Aiden turned toward Orlien.
"I’m going to undo the timestop on Lilith," he said. "But once I do, I want you to get into her mind and force her to bring forth the Grail and hand it over."
He paused before adding.
"It’s best to have an item that powerful on our side."
Orlien nodded without hesitation.
Aiden raised his hand and undid the timestop around Lilith. In the same instant, he locked her within a spatial-lock prison.
Lilith’s eyes darted around immediately as awareness returned to her. She opened her mouth to speak.
But before any words could leave her lips, Orlien invaded her mind.
Lilith’s expression went blank. Her mouth remained open, but no sound came out. Her red eyes stared blankly into the air as Orlien took full control of her consciousness.
With mind control firmly in place, Orlien forced Lilith to summon the Holy Grail.
A red magic circle appeared beside Lilith’s right hand, and from within it, the Grail materialized. It floated gently for a moment before settling into her palm.
Orlien then forced Lilith to extend her hand forward, offering the Grail toward them.
Aiden undid the space lock and stepped closer. He reached out and took the Grail from Lilith’s hand.
Once it was secure in his possession, Aiden nodded toward Orlien, and the Dragon of mind and soul withdrew from Lilith’s mind immediately.
The mother of gods blinked rapidly as awareness flooded back into her once more and her red eyes widened in shock as she realized what had just happened.
She looked down at her empty hand, then up at Aiden who now held the Grail.
Her mouth opened again as she prepared to speak.
But before any sound could escape, Aiden snapped his fingers.
Time stopped around Lilith once more. Her expression froze mid-breath, her eyes wide with fury and disbelief.
Aiden snapped his fingers again, and Lilith’s frozen form vanished, forcibly relocated back to her original position among the other frozen gods.
An idea came to Aiden at that point.
He turned his attention toward the Holy Grail floating above his palm and said, "I’m going to try something."
Holding the cup in his hand and using his power as the Eternal Arbitrator, he extended his authority over time into the Grail to accelerate its recharge time.
Since this technique could work on normal people and force their growth potential forward, there was no reason it wouldn’t work on the Grail.
And as expected, it worked.
The 100 years the Grail needed to recharge in full was accelerated and completed in seconds. The artifact glowed faintly for just a moment before settling back into its dormant state, fully charged once more.
Aiden smiled at that success, then made the floating Grail disappear for now, sending it into his Treasury of Artifacts.
He then turned his attention back toward the frozen gods, and with a snap of his fingers, Adam was switched from his position among the others to appear directly before Aiden.
Aiden undid the timestop for him immediately and Adam’s eyes regained its awareness at once.
He blinked a few times, disoriented for just a moment before his gaze moved towards Aiden standing before him.
His golden eyes were wide with astonishment.
"What is this, Black Dragon?" Adam said, his voice carrying a mix of confusion and irritation. "Have we gods become mere toys for you to play around with?"
Aiden sighed and shook his head.
"You were the one worried about being preyed on by Samael until the extinction of your kind," he replied calmly. "for the time being, at least, I have fixed that problem."
Adam turned his head and looked around at the Pocket Domain surrounding them. He stared at the frozen gods scattered throughout the space before returning to Aiden.
He inclined his head slightly in acknowledgment.
"I accept my apologies," he said.
Then he raised his head again and asked, "What then are Lilith and her half-angel son doing here?"
Aiden’s expression remained steady as he answered.
"They are here because Lilith, despite her current relationship with Samael, still has transcendence fragments. One of the largest amounts like yours."
He paused before continuing.
"If I had left her there, what’s to say he wouldn’t just take it from her regardless?"
Adam nodded slowly at that reasoning.
Aiden then added, "And as for the half-angel... honestly, that part I don’t know."
Adam sighed but said nothing more on the matter.
Aiden continued speaking.
"However, I called you for a few different reasons."
He stretched his hand forward, and the Holy Grail floated before him once more.
"I have taken possession of the Grail," Aiden said.
Adam’s golden eyes immediately moved toward the artifact, and almost immediately he noticed something that made his expression shift into confusion.
"It’s fully charged," Adam said. "How is that possible?"
Aiden dismissed the question with a wave of his hand. "That is not to be worried about," he replied. "The real reason I reveal this to you is to let you know I will be holding onto the Grail until the threat of Samael is done with."
Adam’s expression changed immediately at those words, and you could he did not look pleased to hear that.
Aiden noticed but continued anyway.
"You will understand it more after you see it," he said.
Then he turned toward Orlien and nodded toward her.
"Show him too," Aiden said.
