Chapter 312: Orion Vs The Twin Demon Lords

Dragonhold wasn’t the only kingdom that had gods fend for them.

Different other gods, Archons, High gods and Lesser gods materialized across the world. They appeared as flashes of light, with each one representing beacon of hope against the encroaching darkness.

One such god descended upon the burning remnants of Yul’thera. The City of Amazons.

The Archon, Orion.

And the arrival of the other gods behind him made quick work of most of the demonic forces that had overrun Yul’thera.

Divine magic lit up the sky as gods unleashed their power without restraint, vaporizing entire swaths of demons.

But as the lesser demons fell, two figures emerged from the chaos.

Asmodai and Astaroth.

The twin children of Morrigan stepped into view with their eyes locked on Orion and unbothered by the carnage around them.

Asmodai wore flowing dark robes and held up two katanas on both hands as a purplish-dark aura radiated from him, faint but unmistakable.

Astaroth had her fists clenched with darkish-red energy rising around her arms. Then she moved.

Launching herself forward with explosive speed, closing the distance between herself and Orion in an instant.

Her fist lashed out toward his face, with the air around it distorting from the sheer force behind the strike, but Orion’s hand came up to meet it.

The collision produced a thunderous crack that echoed across the immediate area

Astaroth snarled and threw another punch with her other hand, then another with the first again. Each strike came faster than the last, building momentum as she unleashed a relentless barrage of blows.

Orion blocked each one, with his hands moving at just the right speed as he deflected her attacks.

Then Asmodai entered the fray.

He appeared at Orion’s side in a blur of motion and with both his katanas already drawn as he slashed downward, aiming for Orion’s neck and torso simultaneously.

Orion leaned back just enough for the first blade to miss his throat by centimeters, but he second blade he caught between his palms, halting its descent .

Purple energy exploded outward from the point of contact, washing over Orion’s arms.

Asmodai twisted the blade in Orion’s grip and pulled it free, then immediately followed up with a horizontal slash aimed at the Archon’s midsection.

Orion released the blade and stepped back, narrowly avoiding the strike. But Astaroth was already there, with her fist driving toward his ribs.

The punch connected.

The impact sent Orion moving backwards as his feet carved furrows in the ground until he eventually came to a stop.

Astaroth grinned and said, "Got you." 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

Orion straightened up slowly while rolling his shoulders as yellow lightning crackle intensely around him. "Impressive," he admitted.

Then he moved.

The battle became a whirlwind of motion and violence.

Orion surged forward with incredible speed, closing the distance to Astaroth before she could react. His fist slammed into her stomach with devastating force, folding her over and lifting her off her feet.

She flew backward, crashing through the remains of a stone building. Debris rained down as the structure collapsed further on her.

Asmodai followed up again instantly with both katanas unleashed into a rapid series of slashes. Each strike cleaved through the air the purplish aura around the blades growing darker with every swing.

Orion weaved between the attacks rather fluidly despite the intensity behind each strike. He ducked under one slash, sidestepped another, then caught the third blade on his forearm.

The edge bit into his skin, causing a cut but nothing lethal or enough to make the god bleed.

Asmodai’s eyes widened slightly at the sight as he had expected more damage than a simple cut.

Orion then grabbed the katana with his other hand and yanked it forward, pulling Asmodai off balance. Then he drove his knee into the demon lord’s chest.

The impact sent Asmodai flying backward, but he managed to twist mid-air and land on his feet several meters away, with both katanas still in hand.

Astaroth burst from the rubble with a roar of fury, with her darkish-red aura flaring even brighter now and wrapping around her entire body like flames.

She charged at Orion again, delivering punches came in rapid succession as each one landed with increasing force than the last.

Orion blocked the first few strikes, but he could feel the power behind each blow growing stronger.

By the fifth punch, his guard was being pushed back. By the tenth, cracks formed in the ground beneath him from the sheer force of the impacts.

She gets stronger with every consecutive hit, Orion realized.

On the twentieth punch, Orion shifted tactics. Instead of blocking, he dodged to the side and let her fist pass harmlessly by his head.

Astaroth snarled in frustration as her combo broke, and Orion who took advantage of the opening, delivered a powerful uppercut to her jaw.

Yellow lightning exploded from his fist as it connected, sending her hurtling into the sky.

Before she could fall back down, Asmodai was already attacking again.

His katanas moved in a blur, and each slash caused magic blasts that erupted from the blades as he swung them, forcing Orion to leap backward to avoid being caught in the explosions.

The ground shook with each detonation, and more buildings collapsed under the strain.

Orion landed, but and immediately launched himself forward again in a streak of lightning, closing the distance to Asmodai in an instant as drove his fist into the demon lord’s side.

The punch sent Asmodai tumbling across the ground, but he recovered quickly and rolled back onto his feet.

Astaroth crashed down beside him a moment later, landing hard but pushing herself upright almost immediately.

Orion had an overwhelming speed advantage against them both.

However, both demon lords stood side by side now, breathing heavily but still ready to fight.

Orion faced them calmly, with yellow lightning crackling around his body. He had sustained a few shallow cuts on his arms from Asmodai but otherwise he seemed unharmed.

"You’re both strong," Orion said. "But I’ve been studying you this entire time."

Asmodai’s eyes narrowed but he said nothing.

Orion pointed at Astaroth first. "Your power is interesting. Every consecutive hit you land increases your strength exponentially."

Astaroth’s expression contorted more into a frown as she heard Orion read her like that.
