My Dragon King System-Chapter 356: My Half-Dragon Wives: Tree Colossus
Laela and Arianna both scrambled to their feet, although their movements were noticeably slower than before.
Once more, Arianna lunged forward first, swinging Eclipsar in a wide arc toward Uriel’s midsection.
The angel sidestepped effortlessly, letting the blade pass through.
Before she was able to make another attempt, Uriel tapped the pommel of her rapier against Arianna’s shoulder, which sent her stumbling backward.
Laela came in again with her spear, thrusting forward at Uriel.
Uriel swung her rapier and deflected the thrust cleanly, sending Laela stumbling forward from her own momentum.
Before she could recover, Uriel followed up with a firm kick to her midsection that sent her staggering further backward.
Both gritted their teeth in frustration. Fighting Uriel when they were equally matched was already at max difficulty.
But this? It felt impossible.
They both made more attempts, attacking from different angles simultaneously.
But Uriel flowed between their strikes with minimal effort, and in one swift circular sweep of her leg, she caught both women’s ankles at once.
Sending them crashing to the ground together.
She tilted her head slightly, watching them with that same condescending expression.
"Are you both finished already?"
Arianna gritted her teeth and charged again, swinging with everything she had.
Uriel raised her rapier with one hand and caught the strike effortlessly. Then she stretched her left palm forward and released a small burst of light directly into Arianna’s chest.
The force was purely blunt but it was enough as Arianna was sent flying backward and crashing hard into the ground, with Eclipsar falling from her grip.
Laela roared in frustration and charged forward as well thrusting forward with everything she had.
Uriel sidestepped to the right as Laela’s thrust passed by her. With Laela’s arm fully extended and her body leaning forward, Uriel struck the back of her wrist sharply with her pommel.
This made Volestrum slip from Laela’s grip and fall to the ground.
Before half-elf could react, Uriel swept her leg out again, this time catching Laela behind the knees and sending her crashing face forward onto the ground.
Both women were on the ground now breathing heavily, with pain radiating through their bodies from repeated blunt impacts.
Uriel repositioned herself in front of them, watching with that condescending look again as they both tried to push themselves up.
Laela held one of her hands, wincing at the pain radiating through it. "What... what was that?"
Arianna had recovered slowly and now, was walking towards Laela.
Uriel’s expression remained calm. "That is the power of my grace. I amplified my speed and strength while debuffing yours."
She paused, tilting her head slightly.
"By my calculation, you’re both moving at half your previous states."
Their eyes widened.
Uriel began swinging her rapier into smooth curving arcs, creating circles in the air. A faint trail of golden light followed the steel as she completed the motion and pointed the blade directly at them.
"What will you be able to do when you face an opponent exponentially more powerful, like me in this situation?"
There was silence for a moment then suddenly
Laela and Arianna both stretched their hands out to their sides. Volestrum and Eclipsar flew through the air and landed back into their grips.
Laela stabbed the hilt of her spear into the ground and said to Arianna without turning to glance at her:
"Sync with me."
Arianna nodded.
Laela extended both arms out to her sides, causing vines and roots to erupt from the ground around both her and Arianna, growing rapidly upward and outward.
While this happened, Arianna whispered:
"Mass Magic..."
Uriel watched with narrowed eyes and curiousness to see what they were about to do.
The vines and roots intertwined and grew into a massive, ancient tree-like creature whose height soared so great that its head pierced through the sky above.
Even Aiden’s eyes widened as he watched from the balcony. Tristan and Andrea stopped laughing, staring up in awe as the creature continued growing and expanding to dangerous heights.
At its maximum size, the being appeared to be made entirely of wood covered in green plants and trees. It had what looked like antlers or branch-like horns on its head, giving it this majestic and mythical appearance.
"Fusion Magic: Tree Colossus"
From different corners of the castle, inhabitants saw the rising figure through their windows.
Varac, who had just been stepping out of the castle entrance with some towels to present to the ladies, stopped dead in his tracks and stared upward in awe.
But even then, that wasn’t all.
Suddenly Volestrum expanded into colossal size, held in the creature’s left hand. While Eclipsar grew equally massive in its right hand.
Within the head of the colossus were Laela and Arianna, standing side by side as they controlled their creation together.
Uriel smiled, then grinned widely.
"Interesting," she said aloud. "You’ve both outdone yourselves."
They had compensated for their lack of individual power by combining their magic into this absolute monstrosity.
From the balcony, Aiden watched amusingly. This was supposed to be regular training.
He stretched his hand forward and warped space around them. In an instant, both the colossal monster and Uriel were forcibly relocated far away from the castle’s range.
Lest they destroy his property.
Once the relocated parties realized what had happened, and knew it was Aiden’s doing, they prepared themselves once more.
Uriel had such a minute figure compared to the towering colossus before her. She took her stance again and said:
"Come on then. Are you both just going to stand there?"
The giant brought down its sword.
Uriel swung her rapier upward into a parry that deflected the massive blade away with precision.
The monster brought down its spear next. Once more, there was another parry and deflection.
This continued relentlessly: sword, spear, sword, spear, alternating between each weapon as Uriel met every strike with perfect timing and flawless technique.
Each parry happened in such rapid succession that it felt like a sequence of perfectly timed counters, where one wrong move would mean defeat.
In this exchange, it didn’t matter the size difference either as Uriel’s strength matched the wooden golem equally.
Each parry caused a shockwave that spread outward for kilometers in every direction and the ground cracked beneath them with every impact.
The dragons flying overhead all avoided the immediate space around them.
After one final parry that sent Eclipsar flying upward momentarily, Uriel extended all six of her wings outward.
She positioned her rapier upward, then launched herself forward with a grin on her face.
She was actually having fun now.
Inside the wooden structure forming the colossus’s head, Laela and Arianna grinned too, and their creation reacted accordingly by moving forward while swinging down its sword at the approaching angel.
They collided, unleashing an explosion of white light that erupted outward in every direction for miles.
