"We don’t need to bring back the past, Caden. I never told anyone about it. But I remember every detail." She answered.

Caden sighed.

"What happened in the library was just the beginning. That’s when I realized I can do something to protect you and my family. I accepted to lead the Forelli Clan to stop the other clans from hurting our families. We can’t live in peace if they will keep on targeting us. So I have to completely destroy them. That day, you promised to keep it a secret. It was a burden you carried for years."

"Caden, it’s not a burden. And what you did was self-defense. You protected me. I’m alive because of you." She said.

"And what about now? If I slit someone’s throat, do you still think it’s self-defense?" He asked.

She was taken aback. She didn’t know how to answer his question or if he wanted to know what was on her mind.

"Why are you asking me something like that? Do you plan on killing someone in front of me?"

"I’m asking because it could happen."

"Caden, I don’t know. But what I do know is that I want to stay with you. You asked me if I could try to find out about what happened to my mother, I’ll do it. Not because you asked me to, but because I want to know. I can’t be the one who always gets protected and knew nothing."

Caden took a deep breath. She wanted to reach out to him. She wanted him to hold her, to touch her. She wanted to feel his arms around her.

"Are you willing to learn and follow the laws of the mafia? If you don’t want to get protected all the time, you have to learn self-defense. Are you fine with that?"

"I’ll do it. I’ll do everything so I could stay by your side." She exclaimed.

"Don’t say it like that. You can still decline. I won’t leave you or allow you to leave me even if you don’t agree." He sighed.

"I know and I won’t allow you to leave me either. I just want everyone from the clan to acknowledge me as your future wife. Brie said that I exposed your weakness so I want to show them that I can be your strength."

He chuckled.

"Are you making fun of me?" She frowned.

He shook his head. "No. You’re my weakness, but you’re also my strength. And you already know that. But I will let you show them, if that’s what you want. And about your mother, I will let you handle it. I’m also curious about it."

She nodded. "Do you have any idea about what she saw and what she did?"

"I don’t. Your parents were very careful about it. And I don’t think they had ever mentioned it after knowing the truth." He answered.

"I see. Maybe I’ll start asking her alter, Camila."

Caden nodded in agreement. "Just be careful, okay?"

She smiled. "I will."

Then silence. She bit her lip as she stared at him. Why did he look so deliciously seductive with all those sweat on his body? She thought to herself.

"Don’t look at me like that." He whispered.

"Why? Am I not allowed to stare at you because you’re mad at me?" She asked.

Caden sighed. "I’m not mad. I was worried. One of your bodyguards called and told me you disappeared with Brie. Good thing we were able to find you and I was surprised that you’re on your way here."

"So you already knew I was coming?"

He nodded. "Yes."

She pouted. "I was also worried."

"I know."

"And I missed you."

"Me too."

She stared at him again. Her eyes traveled from his face to his chest, memorizing every detail of his tattoo.

"I told you not to stare at me like that." He said.

"Why? You said you’re not mad at me."

"I’m not. But I’m still furious. I want to make love to you, but I might ravage you."

She was supposed to feel a little scared, but she blushed from excitement.

"I—I want you to touch me." She stuttered.

"I can’t. I might lose control."

"I—I don’t care. If you want to let out your anger by making love to me, then it’s fine. As I said, I don’t want to get protected all the time. I want you to get rough on me sometimes."

Caden was surprised. "You don’t know what you’re asking, Alira."

"No! I know what I want. You."

"Alira, don’t test my patience. I don’t know what I would do to you."

She wasn’t moving and neither did he. They were a few feet away from each other, but neither of them tried to get closer. She wasn’t afraid of what he might do. She was scared to get rejected.

"I’m not testing your patience, but I want you to lose control."

He frowned. "What? Do you really want me to get rough on you? It might hurt."

"I don’t care. I want to be hurt by you."

Caden was starting to lose control. Alira was pushing him to his limits. He rubbed his face with his hand and stared at her again.

"You’re making me crazy." He said then rushed toward her.

He grabbed her by the wrist and dragged her back to the town. She wasn’t sure where he would take her, but she didn’t care.

Two of Caden’s men saw them and quickly ran toward them.

"Boss, Red took the other girl home." The man said while handing Caden a black shirt.

Caden nodded. "I’ll leave for now. You’re in charge until I get back."

He put on his shirt but left it unbuttoned then he turned to her. "Get in the car."

She nodded. "Where are we going?"

"Where do you think we’re going? You asked for this so you better not regret it." He said while driving away from Willow Green.

Her heart pounded from excitement. She must be really crazy from feeling excited. She looked at Caden and to her surprise, he unzipped his pants and released his full erection.

"You want me, right? Then you have to satisfy me." He said with a wide grin on his face.
