A wave of happiness washed over her. The warmth of his gaze seemed to pass through her skin. He pulled her onto the bed and positioned himself on top of her.

"C-Caden, we can’t."

"We can’t what? Are you thinking of something naughty again?" He smirked.

She pouted. "Does that mean your answer is yes?"

He chuckled. "Do I have a choice?"

"Caden, I’m serious."

He brushed his hand over her cheek and smiled. "I won’t say no to you, of course. I love you and you’re the only woman I want to marry."

"But why did you announce our break up?" She asked.

He didn’t answer and quickly got out of bed. He took his phone and handed it to her. She was confused and looked at it.

"This was taken that night." Her eyes widened.

He nodded. "There was someone in the crowd who took our photo. An anonymous number sent that to my other phone."

"When was it sent?"

"That night. My other phone was with Rock and he saw it. He told me right away, but I was busy talking to Juliano. I agreed with the breakup because I thought it would make you safe. Look at the other photo."

She scrolled to the next image and was surprised to see it. She looked at the next images and it was all her.

"The one who took it didn’t say a word. He just sent your pictures. And I know it’s a threat. So I have to agree with you that night and announced the breakup as soon as possible."

"What happened after the announcement?" She asked.

"Just like I expected. He sent another message, but this time, he said something. Here."

’How about your sister?’

"What does it mean? They are targeting Caroline now?"

He nodded. "I was able to divert their attention but didn’t think of Caroline’s safety."

She bit her, and with a brisk authority, she replied. "Announce that we’re okay now and I’m still your fiance."

"Look, you know Caroline is reckless and stubborn. You can’t tell her what or what not to do. But if the enemy focused on me, I’ll follow your order without any doubt." She said.

Caden shook his head. "I can’t do that. I can’t put your life in danger."

"Caden, I don’t think they will just let me go. I’m sorry for saying this, but I think they are using Caroline to distract you. I’m still their target. You know, I’m a Wilson and they will gain something more if they get to me." She said pointedly.

The corners of Caden’s eyes were pleated with concern. But he knew Alira had a point. Caroline was an untitled royal. She had no position in either the royal family or the Forelli Clan. Benjamin wouldn’t gain anything from Caroline. But Alira was the daughter of the wealthiest family in the country. He stared at her for a long moment and sighed. He brushed his fingers over her cheek and looked at her with gentle eyes.

"Just do what I say, please. I don’t know what I’ll do if something bad happened to you. I’ll kill everyone who will dare to harm you, Alira."

She nodded, but she felt a sharp bolt of fear with just his words. Because she knew Caden would kill and would die for her.

"Fine. We’ll announce it tomorrow. But we have to think of a reason for the breakup."

"How about an exclusive interview?" She asked.

"By Media Tech?"

She shook her head. "The school’s media club."

"I think that’s fine. We’ll tell them we had a fight and made up." He said.

He walked toward the side table to pour a glass of wine. She noticed cigarette butts in the ashtray and there were a lot of them.

Caden caught her looking at it. "I’ll try to stop smoking. Don’t worry."

"I-I didn’t say anything."

"I know. But your face says it all. I promise, I will try."

She nodded as her face lit with a smile. "Oh, I almost forgot. I have something for you."

He frowned. "What is it?"

She took something from her purse and tapped the bed, asking Caden to sit beside her. Then she gently pulled his wrist to put the bracelet on him. The design consists of a looped or twisted rope with no beginning and no end.

"This is an infinity bracelet. It symbolizes eternity, everlasting love, and commitment. The infinity loop design of this bracelet illustrates perfectly the concept of eternity, –– a constant cycle of renewal, life, and love. And by wearing this, you can show the world your commitment to someone. Me." She smiled.

"Is this made by Hoseki?" He asked.

She nodded. "And I designed it. This is the only infinity bracelet we have in Hoseki. I told them not to make another. Look, it’s paired with mine." She said while showing Caden her bracelet.

"It’s beautiful. Thank you."

"You gave me so much, Caden. I will not falter anymore. I will not question what you do and I’ll support you."

Caden leaned his forehead against hers. "I promise, I’ll quit being the Boss of the Forelli Clan once we catch Benjamin."

"And can you promise me you won’t die?"

"I’ll live for you. I want to have a family with you. Have kids who look like you. And grow old with you. So please, never fear me." He said with a willed smile.

Her eyes flared with happiness and gave him a hopeful smile. She wished and prayed his words would come true.

"Me too. I want to spend the rest of my life with you." She said.
