My Evil Crown Prince-Chapter 81: The Deal
After their public kissing scene, it was immediately posted online. They didn’t bother to check the reactions and comments of the people. They only had one goal, and that was for Benjamin to know that the wedding was not canceled.
"I’m glad that you made up. But a kiss in public? You have no shame!" Lucas commented, giving Caden a death glare.
She slapped her brother’s shoulder to stop him. "It’s fine. I heard mom and dad did it, too."
Lucas frowned. "What? Where did you hear that non-sense?"
"No. It wasn’t. I saw it in the school archives. The news about them when they were still studying here in Golden Oak." She giggled.
"And you were proud of what you did?"
"Hey, you’re too conservative! Brie would die a virgin if you’re like that." She pouted.
"Language, Alira!" Lucas scolded her.
Caden laughed while listening to the twins’ conversation. They were at the cafeteria having their lunch together.
"Alira, I’m happy for you!" Brie, who just arrived, greeted her.
"Thank you. It’s because all of you helped me." She said.
Caden already told Lucas and the others about what happened at the auction. Brie was already tracking where the messages came from, so they would find out soon who took the photos.
"Do you think your grandfather saw the news?" Lucas murmured.
Caden had a hopeful look in his eyes. "He has to see it. Or else I would have to lock up this girl." He said while glaring at Caroline.
"You can’t do that!" Caroline explained.
"If you don’t stop being so stubborn, I will lock you up in your room. Why can’t you cooperate? This is for your own good." He stared at his sister with concern.
Caroline glanced at Alira and felt a little guilty knowing what her brother’s fiance did to make her safe.
"Fine. I’ll follow your order, but don’t lock me up. And I’m okay with Stephen." Caroline blushed.
Caden nodded. "I won’t. Just obey Stephen, but if you’ll keep being reckless, I’ll lock you up. In three months, you’ll come to Flousia with me and Alira. Dad’s family is waiting for you. And you are being summoned by the King."
Alira saw the excitement in Caroline’s eyes, but she was just trying to hide it. Although she was an untitled royal for now, Caden wanted to give her sister a position in the palace. Caroline deserved to be in the archives of the royal family. She was still the daughter of Princess Margaret and Prince Jayden, so Caden would give her the title she deserved.
After class, they went home together in Queens because Caden asked for an emergency meeting.
"So what’s next? What’s your plan with Juliano and Mary Watkins?" Lucas asked.
"What happened to your chat with Michael Cerro? Did he suspect that we were there?" Caden answered with questions.
Lucas shook his head. "He asked me about you and Alira. Then after that he asked about the Wilson Tower."
Caden frowned.
"He offered to buy it." Lucas chuckled. "Imagine, he had so much guts to buy the tallest building in this country and told me to name my price. Your grandfather pisses me off to the bones!" Lucas gritted his teeth.
"Did Cerro say it was my grandfather who wanted the building?"
"Who else? He’s your grandfather’s secretary. Brie looked into it, and he’s still working as the right-hand man of Benjamin." Lucas answered.
Caden nodded. "Our target is the manufacture of memory serum. It’s Benjamin’s primary source of funds. If we could stop it, it would cut down his wealth."
"How about Miller Group? He’s the chairman, right?" Stephen asked.
Caden shook his head. "I’m the new chairman of Miller Group."
"How? I thought he only gave you part of the company, not everything?"
Caden chuckled. "Benjamin was a fake chairman to begin with. He was never a Miller, he’s a Trekker. I met with the real Benjamin Miller."
"He’s still alive?" Lucas asked in disbelief.
"Yes. He’s in Willow Green. I made a deal with him."
"What kind of deal?" Alira asked.
"His father, Harold Miller, found out that the man beside was a fake Benjamin. And before he died, he made some changes to his will. But since the fake one was able to transfer the ownership of the company to my name, he had no intention of getting his inheritance as the real Benjamin Miller. For now, I still need Miller Group. My grandfather thought he could take Miller Group back by keeping Benjamin’s family a hostage. So I made a deal with him and promised to save his family."
"Are you going to use Miller Group’s funds to buy the memory serum?" Elijah asked, his eyes widened.
Caden smirked. "Yes. It’s his money. That was the only thing that wasn’t fake to him. Miller Group became one of the wealthiest and powerful family because of him. He was the one who made the company grow. So, I’ll use his money against him."
"And how would you do that? He wouldn’t sell the memory serum to you, or to any of us, obviously. Besides, what’s the point of buying it if we have the doctor who made the serum?" Lucas asked.
"Our goal is not to make the memory serum. We have to stop its production and distribution. We can’t just tell Mary to stop working for Benjamin. The moment she stops, she and her daughter are dead. First, we have to make his allies, our allies, and get all the names of those people who purchase the serum. I have someone who would make a deal with him. Juliano is one of the dealers. I will talk to him about it again."
"How about Mary? Do you think she’ll agree to be our spy?" Alira asked.
Caden smiled. "She will. Because she has no choice. Because either way, her daughter will die. But at least I offered her protection and Benjamin did not."
Everyone nodded.
"So, what’s the plan? What would be our first action?" She asked, determined to support her fiance.
