My Favorite Game Followed Me!-Chapter 667
Chapter 667
The wizard who accompanied the guards patrolling the streets of New Drennor took out a crystal globe and accessed information. The globe looked like the one the Adventurer Guild receptionist used as their computers.
Anton thought that the wizard was probably accessing his records or something of that sort, and the wizard’s next sentence confirmed that.
“Yes, Mr. Sunder. Your record did say that you’re part of the defensive force and currently on a one-week vacation, as submitted by your captain. We apologize for these thugs ruining your vacation. It’s their bad luck to target a Supreme Rank wizard and should be glad that you’re merciful enough not to turn them into motes of light as per your right.”
The thugs who were still being held by Anton’s Telekinesis looked frightened. He released the six robbers and handed them over to the patrol team. Thankfully, Anton did not need to follow the guards to do any reports or anything like that and was let go immediately. All in all, the situation did not even last half an hour, and Anton just continued walking to his inn.
When he arrived there, Ishmael was manning the counter.
“Anton, are you planning to watch a movie tonight?”
“Yes. I’m planning to watch Spider-Man II after dinner. Can you go ahead and serve us dinner in our suite?”
“Sure thing! Be there in a few minutes. Thanks again for letting us watch your window to another dimension,” the innkeeper said, and Anton just nodded.
When he arrived at the suite, he told Abdul that they would be watching Spider-Man II after dinner. As expected, Abdul immediately ran off to fetch his girlfriend, Tess, and her parents.
“Abdul promised Tess that he would call her when we’re going to watch a movie,” Omar laughed.
“Tess and her parents wanted to officially confirm Abdul’s relationship with Tess, but we told them that it was not possible since we’re leaving soon to go to Ormunda and that we’re not returning home anytime soon,” Kirk said.
“It doesn’t matter to them anyway, since what they want was a connection to a wizard, and they have that with Abdul. More than likely, they would encourage Tess to continue having a relationship with Abdul even if he’s not in New Drennor,” Mesono added.
“A connection with a powerful wizard is just too valuable to ignore, and they had caught Abdul at a young enough age that Tess might earn his loyalty,” Kirk commented.
Anton just sighed at how these young guys' minds work, which was probably older than their age. He understood because just like them, poverty brought the need for them to grow up fast. That was why Anton felt like he regressed instead of maturing, since when he was back on Earth, he had to mature fast to survive. Here in this new world, even though he had encountered dangerous situations and tragedies, he was powerful enough to have the right to be a little willful, which allowed him to behave like a teenager again.
Ishmael arrived with a group of the inn’s helpers. They brought a massive amount of food. Anton learned that Ishamel and his family planned to join them for their dinner. He also added a lot more to include Tess and her parents, since Abdul ran into him when going outside to fetch his girlfriend and her parents.
The moment all of the food was laid down on the table, Abdul arrived with Tess and her parents. Anton had to laugh when he saw them trying to catch their breath because they rushed to the inn. Kirk, who was now behaving as the group’s responsible older brother, scolded Abdul for rushing Tess and her parents to the inn. Fortunately for Abdul, Tess’s parents pacified Kirk and told him that they were fine.
While they were eating, Ishmale asked Anton where he had been. He told everyone that he had been watching the performers on the plazas where they set up their acts.
“Oh. The Artists’ Plazas. Everyone knew about those places. They’re a little dangerous since sometimes, tourists are accosted by dangerous people, especially if they’re rich and careless,” Ishamel said.
“We’re planning to bring you there after the casino,” Kirk said.
“The artists there are very good! I have a brief experience performing in the street, and I have to admit that the acts there are very professional,” Anton said.
“Street performing? What did you do? Magic?” Mesono asked, and everyone looked intrigued.
“Of course not! I played the guitar and sang songs. I’ll show you some videos later,” Anton replied.
“Oh, a group of six men did try to accost me in one of the major streets,” Anton added, and Tess gasped loudly.
“What did you do?” Ishmael asked while his wife and children were looking at Anton with wide eyes.
“I held them with a spell and summoned the guard by firing several Fire Balls to the sky. They arrived immediately and confirmed my status using one of those crystal globes. They took over the capture of the criminals and let me go immediately,” Anton answered.
“I thought you were going to turn them into frogs and feed them to snakes!” Abdul absurdly said, and everyone just rolled their eyes at him.
After dinner, Ishmael called his people to have the dishes removed, and then they all went to the mini-theater that Anton had set up inside the suite. They watched Spider-Man II, and everyone loved it, including Anton. After the movie ended, everyone clapped enthusiastically.
“Are you planning to watch a movie tomorrow?” Ishmale asked, and Anton saw Tess and her parents listening closely.
Anton just shrugged and told the innkeeper that if he did decide to watch a film, he would inform him. After that, he told Kirk and the others to start memorizing their spells after an hour. Before that, Anton knew that they would use the hour before that to discuss the films with the innkeeper, his family, Tess, and her parents, and he allowed them to do so. In the meantime, Anton went inside his room.
He knew that he had been wasting his time by not using his Diablo II system to increase his power, but it was his vacation. Besides, the only thing he could do then was hunt for charms and gears. He could not even save them to take them out of the game because he could only take out the items that he had earned while playing the characters inside the ladder season. That meant that for the next few months, it would be better for Anton to focus on something other than his Diablo II system.
If he were being honest, there were a lot of ways he could increase his power. He could experiment more on combining his spells into more powerful single-cast spells. He could research more on what kind of enchanted items he could create using his Diablo II spells. He could research how he could use mana stones in tandem with his Diablo II system. Basically, there were a lot of projects he could do, but he kept telling himself that he would do them later after his vacation, knowing full well that once he rejoined the fight against the undead, he would have very little time.
Anton finally admitted to himself that he was lazy, but then again, he tried to defend his laziness by telling himself that it was healthy to take a little break now and again. Since he had decided to take a vacation, he searched for a good web novel and started reading one until he fell asleep.
