Chapter 98: Chapter 98: Give an Inch, Take a Mile

’But she couldn’t voice such a thought; it would be offensive to her distinguished guests.’

Suppressing her wild imagination, the store manager composed herself and took the initiative to show Celia Sterling several new arrivals in menswear.

"This celadon-blue suit with a subtle star-dusted pattern just arrived this morning. It’s a masterpiece by the designer Seraphina Cresswell, limited to only six pieces worldwide. Then there’s this saffron-red, low V-neck shirt with a cloud pattern. It has a bold style and vibrant coloring—it’s one of our signature pieces. Both of these would be perfect for the gentleman in purple."

Celia Sterling examined the two outfits the manager presented. The fabric was exquisite, the colors were vivid, and the subtle embroidered patterns were masterfully done. They perfectly blended traditional elements with modern fashion trends and would indeed suit Kian Sterling very well.

The manager then selected a few other sets.

"I see the other gentleman is fond of black and wears no accessories, so he likely prefers a minimalist style. These are all new pieces from the classic Midnight Charm Black collection..."

"Bring all the ones you mentioned inside. I’ll have them try them on." Celia Sterling took out her phone and pulled up a photo. "This yellow qipao on my phone was also purchased here. I heard there’s a matching men’s version?"

The manager glanced at the photo. "Yes, there is."

Celia hummed. "Please get one in my boyfriend’s size."

’Which one is the boyfriend?’ The manager wanted to ask, but she noticed both men were about the same size, so she held her tongue and instructed a sales associate to retrieve the clothing.

Ten minutes later, several outfits were delivered to the VIP room.

The two men, who had been chatting idly, fell silent. Their gazes landed on the clothes brought in by the staff. Celia Sterling was holding the matching men’s outfit: it had a black base with a faint, exquisite pattern in the same color as her qipao. The collar and cuffs were made from the same goose-yellow silk satin, creating a look that was both sophisticated and fashionable.

"Kade, Silas, go try these on." Celia Sterling placed the selected clothes into each of their arms and pointed toward two adjacent luxury fitting rooms.

The two men exchanged a look before heading into their separate fitting rooms.

Celia sat on the sofa in the center of the room, casually picked up a cup of tea, and sipped it while she waited.

Men’s clothing wasn’t as complex as women’s, and both Kian Sterling and Silas Norwood had figures that could make anything look good. After they had tried on a few outfits, it wasn’t just the manager and the staff who were captivated—even Celia felt a little dazed. She couldn’t help but grab her phone and start snapping pictures from every angle.

Kian Sterling finished trying on the last outfit. He walked out, languidly fastening the buttons. His slender, elegant fingers moved slowly up from the smooth buttonholes, starting at his toned waist and gliding toward his sexy collarbones. The sight made several of the store’s employees swallow hard.

He was used to being the center of attention and ignored the subtle stir he was causing. He calmly glanced at Celia, who was still snapping photos of him. "I’ll wait for you outside."

With that, he stepped outside to take a phone call.

Celia turned her attention to the other fitting room. Silas Norwood, who had also tried on several outfits, had taken the matching men’s piece inside a while ago, but there was still no sign of him emerging.

She set down her teacup, rose, and went to the fitting room door. She knocked lightly. "Silas, are you ready?"

"’No.’" Silas Norwood’s voice sounded a little faint through the door. "’I might need Cece’s help.’"

Celia hesitated for a moment before pushing the door open. She didn’t find Silas in a state of undress. He was already wearing the black and yellow outfit, but its clasps were complicated. He seemed unfamiliar with such a design, his hand elegantly pressing on several unique hidden fasteners, unable to get the hang of them.

Under the soft light of the fitting room, the man’s expression was tinged with helplessness. Celia casually closed the door behind her and looked up at him. "Want me to button it for you?"

Silas didn’t speak, but he dropped the hand that was holding his shirt closed. The garment fell slightly open, and Celia’s gaze swept over his firm, well-defined muscles. She cleared her throat softly and reached out to carefully fasten the hidden clasps for him.

A familiar, cool fragrance wafted around her. As her fingers worked on the buttons, they inevitably brushed against the sexy line of his Adam’s apple and collarbone. Celia searched for a topic to diffuse the suddenly intimate atmosphere.

"Is this your first time wearing colors other than black and white, Silas?"

Silas’s tone was casual. "Mm."

Celia watched as the typically cool and aloof man was transformed by the unique splash of bright yellow on his shirt, giving him a strangely alluring charm. She couldn’t help but say, "You should try other colors more often, Silas. This shade of yellow, for example, looks especially good on you."

Silas lowered his gaze, watching her soft, slender fingers fiddling with the front of his shirt. His voice deepened slightly. "If it looks good, is there a reward?"

His tone was decidedly teasing.

Celia paused. A rare look of flustered annoyance appeared in her eyes, and her voice was as faint as a whisper.

"I just promised you all the candy you want. Don’t push your luck!"

"’I wouldn’t dare push my luck,’ Silas said softly. ’But I’d like some more candy tonight. Will you give me some?’"

Celia lowered her head, silent for a long moment. Her voice was even quieter than before. "...Yes."

When the two of them came out of the fitting room, Celia promptly paid for all the clothes. As she went to find Kian Sterling, he was just finishing his phone call.

"There’s a launch meeting for the Port Sovereign project tonight. Are you going?" he asked Silas casually.

Silas replied, "I’m staying with Cece."

Having the heads of two of Metropia’s top conglomerates attend simultaneously would be a bit of an overstatement anyway. Kian Sterling didn’t press the issue and simply nodded. "Alright, you two keep shopping. I’ll head over now. There’s a lot to see on this street. Since you’re out, make sure she has a good time."

Silas gave a noncommittal hum of agreement.

Celia, however, smiled, her eyes half-closed. "I know. Several of your favorite specialty foods are on this street, Kade. Finish your work early, and I’ll get some takeout for you to have as a late-night snack."

Kian Sterling ruffled her hair and left quickly.

With Assistant Thorne, Theo Chambers, and a group of bodyguards following at a discreet distance, Silas Norwood and Celia strolled onward. They bought a few frivolous trinkets and a lot of specialty snacks. Celia’s energy seemed to grow with every shop, but Silas grew quieter and quieter. Finally, just as Celia was about to enter a jewelry store, he gently wrapped an arm around her waist, stopping her in her tracks.

"No more shopping. We’re going back to the hotel," Silas said coolly.

"Silas?" Celia checked the time. It was still very early; they had a full two hours before they had planned to return to the hotel.

"I just received a very important email that needs my attention."

Since it was about work, Celia was very cooperative and ended their outing, heading back to the hotel with him.

Behind them, Assistant Thorne whispered to Theo Chambers, "Don’t you manage the boss’s email? What important email could possibly interrupt the boss’s date..."

"I don’t know about any email." Theo Chambers only said half of what he was thinking. The other half was that, while the boss was in the fitting room, he had sent Theo a message instructing him to tell the Norwood Family executives overseeing the project here to move the launch meeting from the day after tomorrow to today. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

He had also specifically implied that they should use any means necessary to ensure Kian Sterling’s attendance.

’He couldn’t figure out the boss’s intentions.’

But the speed at which the boss was heading back to the hotel was obvious to anyone.

「Twenty minutes later. Port Sovereign International Grand Hotel.」

Celia closed the door to the presidential suite. As she began arranging the snacks and trinkets they’d bought on a display shelf, she said softly, "Silas, you go ahead and get to work. I’ll just tidy up a bit."

But Silas just stood behind her, unmoving.
