My First Love Died, Now My Step Uncle Wants Me-Chapter 109: Your Body and Soul Are Mine
Caleb Rhodes and he were childhood friends, so he knew his temperament well.
The man was stoic and rarely ever showed his emotions, but one thing was certain: when something was wrong, he would chain-smoke.
In the short time they’d been talking, he hadn’t stopped smoking for a moment. ’He must be in some kind of trouble!’
He lit one for himself and raised an eyebrow. "What’s wrong? You haven’t stopped smoking."
Caleb Rhodes’s expression was placid, betraying no emotion. "It’s nothing."
Nathan Fletcher glanced at his cuff.
There was a mark where Nina Wynn had bitten him before. The scar hadn’t fully faded, standing out like a triumphant trophy.
He gave a lazy smile and teased, "Nina Wynn doesn’t seem that fierce. How did she manage to bite you like that? Can’t you handle her?"
Caleb Rhodes said nothing, finishing his cigarette in two quick drags.
He tossed the butt into the ashtray and said flatly, "There’s a big size difference between you and Noelle Landon, too. Are you two... compatible?"
Nathan Fletcher froze for a second.
He could hardly believe his ears.
This was Master Rhodes—the noble, aloof man who had been taciturn since childhood and shown almost no interest in matters between men and women. Was he really asking him about sex?
He suddenly wanted to laugh but had to hold it back.
"We’re pretty good. What, are you two not compatible?"
Caleb Rhodes didn’t reply. His gaze grew colder than before as he lit another cigarette, smoking even more intensely.
Nathan Fletcher recalled a time back when they were training at the special forces base. He’d been showering with Caleb Rhodes and had accidentally seen... something.
Even back then, he was amazed. Master Rhodes wasn’t just a business elite; his physique was the envy of all men.
His gaze swept over Caleb Rhodes’s black trousers, and he suddenly burst out laughing.
"Holy shit," he said between laughs. "Don’t tell me you’re too big for her and actually hurt her!"
Caleb Rhodes’s expression shifted. His voice was cold. "Say one more word of that nonsense and get the hell out."
Nathan Fletcher wasn’t afraid of him. He kept laughing and said, "So you finally got some action, huh? I thought you were going to stay celibate for life. Turns out you were saving yourself for this little lady. Impressive, Third Lord Master. Did you wear her out so much she can’t even get out of bed? No wonder she’s hiding. You even made my Noelle go to the bedroom to see her!"
Caleb Rhodes’s face grew colder, his voice sounding as if it had been frozen in an ice cave. "Shut up!"
Seeing that he was genuinely angry now, Nathan Fletcher suppressed his laughter, stood up, and patted his shoulder. "It’s normal. That girl looks so petite. It’s understandable if she can’t take all of you."
Then, his tone shifted. "But this is a tricky situation. You can’t just keep holding back forever. Having the person you like right in front of you but being unable to touch her... that must be tough."
A dark glint flashed in Caleb Rhodes’s eyes. "The doctor said it’s a difficult case, too."
After that, he fell silent again.
Nathan Fletcher thought for a moment, then said slowly, "It’s not hopeless. I know of a drug that can help, but it comes from Rhabia and is a bit hard to get."
Caleb Rhodes looked up at him, his expression seemingly returning to its initial cold solemnity. "Is it harmful to the body?"
"No, not at all. It’s just rare. It’s used by the Royal Family."
Caleb Rhodes seemed to be in a slightly better mood. He said nonchalantly, "How hard can it be? Get some for me. I’ll make it worth your while."
Just then, the door was suddenly kicked open. Noelle Landon stood there furiously. "Caleb Rhodes, you bastard! Is my Nina a prisoner? Who are you to set visiting hours for her?"
Caleb Rhodes looked at her coldly, a flash of frost in his eyes.
’If I had my way,’ he thought, ’that woman wouldn’t be allowed near Nina for a second. Always trying to run away... she’d only be a bad influence on Nina!’
If it weren’t for the fact that she genuinely cared for Nina Wynn and was Nathan Fletcher’s partner, she wouldn’t have even made it through the door.
His tone was frigid. "Nathan Fletcher, control your woman!"
Nathan Fletcher frowned. Just as he was about to speak, Nina Wynn arrived.
She grabbed Noelle Landon’s arm and said in a low voice, "Noelle, don’t be like this. I’m fine. Caleb has been very good to me."
Noelle Landon was furious and couldn’t be reasoned with.
She forcefully shrugged off Nina Wynn and stormed inside.
Before she had taken two steps, she heard Nina Wynn let out a muffled grunt, as if she had run into something.
She turned back to see that her shove had sent Nina Wynn stumbling into the door. Nina was now holding her forehead.
Caleb Rhodes’s expression changed dramatically. He strode forward in a few steps, wrapped a hand around Nina Wynn’s waist, and asked in a low voice, "Where did you get hit?"
He pulled her hand away to check.
A small red patch had appeared on Nina Wynn’s delicate, porcelain-white forehead, and the skin even looked a little broken.
His gaze turned icy as he slowly looked at Noelle Landon.
The chilling cold and malice in his eyes made Noelle Landon shiver, and a wave of coldness washed over her back. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
But she wasn’t one to back down. Swallowing her fear, she prepared to step forward.
Before she could move, however, Nathan Fletcher intercepted her. "Let’s go. We’re going home!"
Noelle Landon glared at Caleb Rhodes. "You treat her like this, locking her up like a prisoner! You’ll get what’s coming to you!"
Caleb Rhodes narrowed his eyes, the frost within them growing more pronounced.
Seeing that his friend was truly enraged, Nathan Fletcher quickly scooped Noelle Landon up and started carrying her out.
Noelle Landon struggled, scratching and hitting Nathan Fletcher, but she was no match for the tall, strong man. Eventually, her voice faded into the distance.
Seeing her friend leave, Nina Wynn let out a sigh of relief.
But another glance at Caleb Rhodes’s profoundly cold eyes told her he was genuinely furious.
She wrapped her arms around his waist and said softly, "Caleb, please don’t be angry. She just came to see me."
As she spoke, she pressed her small face against him, rubbing it on his shirt as if trying to appease his anger.
But Caleb Rhodes didn’t seem to fall for it. The hand on her waist tightened unconsciously, and his tone was extremely cold. "You are not to see her again!"
Nina Wynn stiffened. She clutched his shirt tightly, her voice laced with a hint of grievance. "She’s the only friend I have."
Her expression seemed to accuse him of being cold and heartless.
Caleb Rhodes felt his heart soften slightly. He let go, then lifted her up and set her on the desk.
He gripped her chin, staring into her dark pupils. His gaze was cold and solemn.
He said, word by word, "Nina Wynn, you can rely on me. And you can *only* rely on me!"
Nina Wynn lowered her eyes. She wrapped her arms around his neck, hooking them, and whispered, "I know."
Caleb Rhodes gripped her waist, pulling her into his embrace.
Then, in a low, glacial voice, he asked, "What do you think our relationship is? A transaction?"
Nina Wynn’s body tensed slightly. She didn’t speak, only burying her head in his shoulder.
Caleb Rhodes said coldly, "Nina Wynn, your body and soul are mine. If I ever find out you dare to think this is just a transaction, I won’t let you off easy!"
