Chapter 1089: Chapter 783: Bo Zhi 34

"Are you going to see your son?" Bo Zhi opened the bedroom door and heard Mou Wen ask.

"Yes." Bo Zhi glanced back, smiling slightly, "You go to sleep first, I’ll be back in a bit."

Mou Wen thought for a moment, "Why don’t you stay with your son tonight?"

"Why?" Bo Zhi raised an eyebrow, "We’ve just started sharing a room, and you’re already tired of me?"

"I don’t mean it that way." Mou Wen stammered, "It’s just, well, isn’t it because I’m worried about Xunxun? You’re his dad, the strength you give him is different."

"Since Xunxun doesn’t admit he was beaten up at school, it proves he’s much stronger than we think. Don’t doubt him on this."

"I’m not doubting Xunxun either. You know I’m just worried about him."

Bo Zhi turned back, embraced Mou Wen, and kissed him, "Don’t worry, I’ll go check on him."

"Okay."

Xunxun was already sound asleep, with a bruise at the corner of his eye and another one at the corner of his lips. Bo Zhi sat on the bed, looking down at his son, feeling a bit like laughing.

He brushed Xunxun’s hair up and saw a reddened mark on his forehead, likely from being bullied by several kids at once.

Perhaps Bo Zhi’s movement was a bit too much, Xunxun was awakened, groggily opening his eyes to see his father’s face right in front of him. He blinked confusedly, "Dad."

Bo Zhi made a faint sound of acknowledgment, leaned in, and kissed his forehead, "Tell Dad, how did you get these injuries? I’m not your mom."

In other words, don’t try and brush me off, I won’t believe it.

Xunxun fully woke up, his eyes flickered slightly, but as he looked at Bo Zhi again, he became more resolute, "Dad, I got into a conflict with friends at kindergarten;

I didn’t hit first, they couldn’t outtalk me. So, five of them pushed me, and then I fought back and took down all five of them by myself;

They’re pathetic, they’re all older kids and still not as tough as me."

"Feeling impressive?" Bo Zhi asked.

Xunxun toned down his arrogance, "Dad, I was wrong, but they were wrong too."

Bo Zhi smiled, "What did you do wrong?"

"Taking pleasure in others’ misfortune."

Bo Zhi made a sound of understanding, "Who taught you to fight? Your aunt?"

Xunxun felt he couldn’t sell his aunt out. She was only looking out for him; otherwise, if he got bullied and didn’t fight back today, he would suffer a big loss.

A kid even tried to hit him with a rock today.

His hesitating struggle wasn’t missed by Bo Zhi, who chuckled, ruffling his hair, "Dad isn’t going to give your aunt a hard time."

Xunxun relaxed, "Dad, actually my aunt didn’t teach me to fight, she just told me that as a man, I shouldn’t be too weak. If someone bullies you, don’t lose your spirit, even if you lose the fight, keep your spirit up."

Bo Zhi: "..."

Xunxun cautiously reached out his small hand to touch Bo Zhi’s, "Dad, are you mad?"

"Dad’s not mad."

Xunxun hung his head, "But when Dad doesn’t speak and looks at me like that, it’s serious, it makes me scared."

Bo Zhi: "...Alright, as for your aunt’s matter, we’ll let it go. What your aunt said isn’t wrong. If someone hits you first, you need to fight back, don’t just stand there and let them bully you.

Now, let’s talk about the next issue. Tell Dad, how did those kids bully you? What did they say?"

Xunxun’s expression turned a bit sour, his whole body tensed up.

Bo Zhi extended his hand, pulling him and his blanket into his arms, "Is there anything you can’t tell Dad?"

Xunxun felt a bit down, but being held by Bo Zhi made it less painful.

"Dad, they called me an unwanted street child. When Mom drops me off at school, they never see her, only seeing Mrs. Li drop me off a few times;

they also called me a little beggar without a dad, saying awful things. I don’t want them calling my mom and dad like that. My parents are the best, not like what they said."

Bo Zhi squinted, "And what else?"

"They saw the chocolate and some delicious candies in my bag and tried to snatch them from me. I didn’t give them, so they bullied me. Those weren’t even mine, I was planning to give them back.

If I let them eat it, how would I return it to the others?"

Bo Zhi chuckled at the thoughtful look on his face, "Oh, who gave them to you?"

"A friend from kindergarten. But I haven’t eaten any of it, I’m planning to give it back."
