My Goddess is Good at Pretending-Chapter 637: Untold Promise
Under the evening moonlight, Remon, one of LInda’s pursuers in the Superhero Academy, stood outside the female dormitory with a guitar in hand, strumming a heartfelt melody that echoed across the quiet courtyard.
His voice was rich, and he sang with clear sincerity. Every note was directed toward the window of his crush, Linda. Several girls giggled as they peeked out from their windows, caught between the sweetness of his approach and gesture to pursue his love.
After several verses, Linda sighed as the chorus reached its peak. She got up from her bed, knowing she’d find no peace until she addressed this spectacle. She looked out her window, wearing a soft expression that belied her internal irritation.
She walked downstairs, the crowd parting as she approached. When she finally met Remon’s hopeful eyes, Linda chose her words carefully.
"Senior Remon, I appreciate your kindness, but there’s already someone in my heart." Linda said gently, letting her response reach him. "You have a wonderful heart, and I know you’ll make someone incredibly happy. But it’s not me."
Linda’s voice was firm yet decisive, and her poise was clear. She let him down as softly as possible. The onlookers murmured, some sympathetic, others admiring her tact.
Remon was taken aback by Linda’s immediate response. He thought he still had a chance, but it seemed like the situation was not like that. Her previous rejection was just considerate, but she said the shocking thing now. He forced his smile to inquire more, despite the pain of knowing his crush already belonged to someone else. "May, may I know who the lucky man is?"
"I don’t think it’s wise to mention my man’s name. I must finish my studies and graduate as one of the best graduates before I can follow him. Please forgive me, and don’t pester me again." Linda shook her head and walked back to the dormitory without waiting for anyone’s response.
She knew she was still unworthy of her young master, but she would make herself better to meet his expectations.
As for the pursuers, she recalled the advice she received from her young master’s women, especially Lady Erina. She had to make her stance and relationship clear so nobody would test her bottom line, and she did it. After all, it would be unpleasant if her young master misunderstood her.
"..." Remon replied with a small, understanding smile. Although it stung in his heart, he walked away with his pride still intact. He threw away the rose and put the diamond ring box in his pocket as he walked dully back to his car.
"Medic, medic! One of our comrades is down!"
"It’s okay. Let’s go to my club. We shall party all night to comfort the broken heart!"
"She is not the only pretty girl in this world. There are still many girls who are worthy of you. Let’s go for a drink!"
"The tab is on me! So, let’s fcking go for an all-night party!"

"O-oh! Long live young master!"
His friends soon flocked over to comfort him, and they went to the nearby bar to party and drink. They also invited some girls to join their party to comfort their fallen, broken-hearted, comrade.
"Tch, that Linda doesn’t know what’s good for her."
"Yeah. Young Master Remon is the successor of a rich and famous clan in France, but she rejected him so coldly."
"He even went as far as to hold a romantic event to confess to her. His voice is so good, and he’s good at playing the guitar. His courtship is nice, but she plays hard to get."
"I wonder who the man she mentioned. Don’t tell me that it’s just an excuse."
"He may be someone of a high standing. However, she’s just a country bumpkin with a bit of beauty and talent. She has no background other than a student supported by the Minamoto International Group. Is she a kept woman? She is just a little btch."
Some envious women spoke ill behind Linda’s back. They had no rich young masters who tried to pursue them, and it was really annoying to see someone with no proper background receive so much attention and favor from those rich young masters.
If it weren’t for the Minamoto Group’s name on Linda’s back, many envious people would surely tried to harm Linda openly and secretly to make sure she fell into ruin.
Sadly, nobody dared to do that because it would spell their absolute doom. Linda was personally recruited by Minamoto Erina, a top-ranked esper and one of the richest people in the world. However, what made everyone afraid and wary was because of someone next to Minamoto Erina, the mysterious expert of the Guardian of Dream, Young Master El.
The Cube Island was owned by the Guardian of Dream, and this mysterious force possessed enough firepower to wipe out a country from existence in just one night. Nobody could afford to offend this kind of monster.

"That’s my girl." Elysia felt proud of Linda’s firm action. A girl should have the ability to properly say no without compromise. However, she felt displeased by the jealous women who spoke ill behind Linda’s back. "How dare they..."
"Hum, should we do something about them?" Elena tapped her cheek, wondering what she would do to those spiteful women.
"I think, it’s partially my fault. If only I didn’t include the beautification in Linda’s formula during her awakening, she might enjoy her pleasant campus life as a non-combatant who doesn’t attract too much attention like now." Elysia blamed it on herself because everything stemmed from her.
"You don’t need to blame it on yourself, master. The flawless cultivation root that you bestowed on Linda will make her body perfect for cultivation, so it will naturally put her physique in the best condition." Rhea hugged Elysia’s arm, trying to reassure her master.
"Hum, Linda means lovely and pretty. She is usually sweet and tender, but she has experienced the bitter and sour of life. That is what will make her mature. She can overcome it just fine." Elena rubbed Elysia’s back.
"Mm, you are right. Thank you, I overlooked the important part." Elysia felt better after reaffirming it.
If all the good things came for Linda, it would bring backlash. Some people might feel envious or even want to get a piece of Linda, but regardless, all of those were just obstacles and challenges that Linda had to face.
If only she had not promised He-Dao to resolve the crisis of the Corrupted Nirvana Realm, she would have taken Linda with her sooner rather than later. Unfortunately, the future was still gray even for her. She had to leave many of her people behind, excluding them from the Nirvana Great War. There was no guarantee she could see them again in a year or two.
Not to mention, the matter regarding Sera, the Seraph of the End, was approaching. After she fulfilled the promises she already made to her sisters, starting next week, it would be full time for diligent training and full preparation for the Nirvana Great War.
However, that was for next week. She should use the time she had now well, and this week, it was still bonding time with her family, spending their time for various family events.
"I have seen enough. I’m satisfied. Shall we go now?" Elysia extended both hands to Elena and Rhea.
"Let’s go." Elena and Rhea grabbed Elysia’s hand and they vanished from there to visit the summoned heroes’ family.
Unfortunately, out of the seven summoned heroes, only five still had families. Liu Kang and Mizushima Katsue were orphans and lived alone. As for the others, their respective families did feel lost over the mysterious disappearance of their children two months ago.
"..." Elysia stared at Yuusha Mashiro’s mother from a distance. Mashiro got Yuusha as his surname, but he shared the name with no one. His mother, Izuhara Emina came from Izuhara Clan, a small family in Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan.
His mother changed his name and surname after his white magic superpower awakening because his mother hoped for him to become the hero of humanity to save the world. She might not be in her right mind to change his name, but Yuusha Mashiro accepted it proudly.
Unfortunately, he disappeared two months ago as if he vanished into thin air. As a mother who lost her child, Izuhara Emina was still looking for his child by putting up posters around her housing complex. She already reported a missing person case since she lost contact with her child, but because it was a mysterious case, not to mention the incident that occurred at the Superhero Academy in China, the local investigation team still has not gotten any clarity.
What was worse, the mysteriously disappeared student wasn’t just one case. The Superhero Academy couldn’t even say much because the missing person just disappeared. Nobody could point the head and tail of the incident.
"It’s raining..." Elena looked up to the overcast sky and took out a large umbrella. However, the downpour became heavy suddenly.
Elysia, Elena, and Rhea got soaked even though Elena had opened a big umbrella for the three of them.
"Achee..." Elysia covered her mouth, sneezing softly.
"Oh no, are you cold? I’ll dry you and keep you warm, master." Rhea cast a magical spell to make Elysia, herself, and Elena dry and warm.
"Thanks, but I’m okay. It’s just Gaia and Fortuna suddenly talking about me. They’re done with their business and will teleport to our side." Elysia replied with a reassuring smile.
She glanced at the running lady in the distance with a thought in mind. After the Demon King’s subjugation quest, she would grant a chance for the summoned heroes to return to Earth, regardless of what the Glorious God would say.
