Miko was resplendent in her divine radiance as she led her party into the sealed demonic city to support the hero expedition party with their great cause. Their shared mission was aligned as they were required to rid the Demon King of Extreme Evil, who once plunged half the world into chaotic despair.

Thankfully, he and the high-rank demons were sealed, and couldn’t even leave this sealed city.

The journey to the sealed Nacrax City, a region cursed by heaven, was fraught with foreboding. The city stood as a blight on the world. Its atmosphere was thick with malice and the stench of centuries-old blood. When they passed through the cracked gates, they were greeted by horrors that would haunt even the bravest of hearts.

It was a land of atrocity, the deepest cruelty of the irredeemable demons.

No outsiders could peer into the city from outside easily because of the seal. Still, once they passed it, they could clearly see everything. The city gate was wide open, and only demons below 6th Rank could go in and out as they pleased. However, nobody guarded the gate, which was strangely quiet at the entrance. Unfortunately, the inhumane scene and cruelty of the demons were clearly visible past the gate.

Everywhere they looked, the party witnessed unspeakable cruelty.

Those who had some complaints witnessed the fate of the captured. The essence and reason why they should eradicate the Demon King of Extreme Evil and his demon army whatever the cost, even though sacrifices needed to be made.

Though the high-ranking demons were bound by the city’s ancient seals, the weaker demons had roamed freely for centuries, preying on innocent souls from the surrounding lands. The remnants of these atrocities were all too evident as humans and other beings were kidnapped, tortured, and kept like livestock. Their essence drained to fuel the demons’ foul rituals.

"Destroy them..." Mashiro murmured, knowing it was the best opportunity to strike when the enemies were still unaware of their arrival.

The elite warriors, the veterans who already experienced many things in life, immediately charged into the demons at the city’s west gate outer circle to follow the White Hero’s lead.

Unfortunately, some people were unable to move because they vomited at the nauseating sight, including the imperial princess.

"Blaacchh..." Genevieve covered her mouth, but she couldn’t prevent it and vomited all her dinner out.

Some girls and boys fared no better because they had never witnessed the savagery and cruelty of the demons until today.

Miko halted her step. Her expression was pale with righteous fury. "This is the end for you."

She declared as the surrounding demons were wiped out swiftly by the White Hero and veteran experts. She raised her holy staff, and a wave of holy light washed over the twisted land, offering momentary relief to the oppressed souls and strengthening the resolve of her allies.

It was still at the entrance gate, and the deadly battle would soon begin. Therefore, she had to deal with the vulnerable allies on the ground.

"You’re not helping them?" Rhykdohr whispered in wonder as the Elysion Church’s force remained indifferent, just letting the White Hero and the soldiers do the dirty job.

"We need to reduce the ruckus. We sealed the entire west gate’s outer circle area, so the other areas still don’t know that the demons here have been slaughtered." Shiina shook her head. Those weaklings couldn’t even be called warming up.

"Are you alright?" Rafaela handed a handkerchief to the imperial princess because she found this spoiled girl was so pale compared to the others.

"Ugh, sorry to show the unsightly part of me." Genevieve wiped her mouth and quickly returned to her feet, aware that the situation did not allow her to be careless let alone defenseless.

A few minutes later, Mashiro and the elite warriors returned with swords covered in purplish-black blood. They wiped out the demons in this area in just half an hour, but some people were dissatisfied because the Elysion Church still refrained from taking action.

Richard glanced at Mashiro. He could tell his best friend wished to express it but was unable to do so. Thus, he stepped forward to inquire about it. "Why don’t you make your move, saintess?"

"We’re still at the entrance, and it would be unwise to make a big move in enemy territory without precaution." Miko pointed upwards. She then cast healing magic and recovery spells to restore the warriors back to full health.

Mashiro looked up, slightly shocked to realize that the area was sealed and it literally isolated this area from the other places, preventing any demon reinforcements from attacking them.

They would be exhausted and probably forced to retreat with heavy injuries before they even reached the demon king’s castle if that were the case.

"We were careless to spring into action without much thought." Mashiro realized his mistake, feeling that his actions were too hasty.

"Even a Deity needs to tread with careful consideration here..." Rhykdohr sighed.

"Draw your sword and weaponry. The next area will be very dangerous. Ignore anything you see and just kill the demons within sight. We should break through all their defenses in a straight line, going straight to the final boss area to fight the elite demons, demon generals, and the demon king directly. The demon minions and the others will be handled eventually."

Miko spread her arms, conveying her idea to everyone, especially her people. Her people thought this outer circle area posed no threat, but information from Shiina and her mama spoke the truth about the dangers of this place. Even the Glorious God had no confidence to win in a one-on-one fight against the demon king sealed in this city.

"Wait, wouldn’t it be much wiser if we wiped out the weaker demons in the outer circle, and proceeded to the inner circle to gradually whittle down their numbers?" Mashiro raised his hand, proposing his idea since it wasn’t in the plan.

"It’s a good decision if you can withstand the suppression and pressure for long. Once the elite demons receive the news, or worse the demon king himself, the entire city will become a domain that is detrimental to us for the long run." Miko turned around and pointed at the demonic castle that towered over the heart of the city. Everyone immediately turned to where she was pointing.

"In that severely sealed area, no weaker demons will ambush us. We need to eliminate the elite demons and strongest foes first, or their stacked buffs will wipe us out." Miko shook her head.

"..." Everyone was silent for a moment, understanding the change in plans. They thought the plan would be to gradually eliminate the demons before they reached the final boss stage, but they should go directly to the final boss instead.

For some reason, this grave vibe was somewhat familiar to them. Upon recollection, they remembered that they got intercepted by several demon kings and demon generals at the very first stage when they started this journey.

After everyone agreed that the information Miko had was irrefutable, they immediately prepared for a frontal assault to break through all obstacles at once in a straight line without stopping. Their aim was to arrive at the heart of the city, the demonic castle before tens of thousands of demons surrounded them with the threat of demonic domain debuffs.

As the combined forces pressed deeper into the city, the hero expedition party, led by the White Hero, and the Elysion Chruch’s crusaders, commanded by Miko, encountered relentless resistance from the demons. Demons of all shapes and sizes poured out of the corrupted streets and buildings, shrieking in fury.

The battle was chaotic and brutal. Mashiro wielded his holy sword, cutting down many foes alongside his comrades. While the mages and holy knights behind them unleashed devastating holy spells that turned many demons to ashes. Miko positioned herself at the heart of the formation, radiated divine light to buff and shield her allies from the demonic corruption and debuffs,

For every demon they vanquished, another seemed to take its place. The streets of the Nacrax City became a battlefield soaked in cursed blood and ichor. The cries of the dying echoed through the air, but the combined forces never once stopped their advance regardless of anything.

---

"Huyff, haahh... Thank you for saving me..." Nyla panted. She fell before arriving here, desperate because nobody noticed her and thought they would leave her behind.

Fortunately, the strongest forces in the party were at the back to ensure nobody got left behind. Lady Myra, the Deity-level holy knight was one of them. This lady was the one who saved her, although the way she got saved and carried was unladylike.

If she counted it, half a day had passed since they started their reckless advance to break through the demonic siege, but it was still dark in the middle of the night, thanks to the seal and rotten demonic qi in the air.

"Catch your breath. According to Saintess Miko, we should be safe here for a while." Myra put Lyla on the ground, but her treatment was a bit rough like treating a sack of potatoes.

"Ouch..." Lyla wanted to complain, but she swallowed it back.

"The demons are unable to enter this area..." Jophiel muttered softly, staring in amazement at the sealing barrier that kept the countless demons pursuing them outside the palace gates.

"That’s ten hours... Only 8th Rank demons or above are here, but they’re sealed inside the castle. Rest and recuperate as soon as possible." Shiina reminded everyone sternly.

"How can we rest and recuperate in the most dangerous area surrounded by countless furious demons?" Richard complained because it was like asking the impossible, but it was like he had no other choice.

"Stop whining and get back to your prime condition. We can die anytime if we’re careless." Mashiro stared sharply at the demons outside the palace’s sealing barrier.

They weren’t strong enough to be a threat to him, all below 8th Rank, but the number of enemies was too great. His party could be wiped out at any given time. Saintess Miko’s plan to slay the bosses was most likely the best option available, and they could always deal with the remaining demons after the big bosses were slain.
