My Goddess is Good at Pretending-Chapter 765: Sera’s Mercy
"Thank you, sisters. Please wait for me. This might take a little longer..." Elysia stroked Elena's cheek tenderly.
She looked at her pantheon members, her dear sisters who shared their fate and destiny with her. Unfortunately, until she could pass her ordeal regarding Sera, she had to face it independently and unaided. They had done enough, and more than this, she feared the severe backlash that she and they would suffer.
Furthermore, since her God Mode Fusion was no longer active, she feared that Sera could notice them inside her soul. Sera might do something she did not want to happen. So, Sera should not know about their presence, and she hid them inside her soul realm.
With that being said, she lay back down and pulled Megami back into her soul realm.
'I'll help you.' Megami proposed.
'No, darling. You're on the brink of collapse due to the backlash and severe magical consumption. Just rest easy and leave everything to me. I'm sure Sera won't be as fierce as she was in our previous fight.' Elysia reassured Megami, and with that, she withdrew her life support from Megami.
'I can't leave you all alone... we promised to never leave you alone... mama...' Megami murmured weakly, but irresistible drowsiness soon drowned her, realizing that she was slowly returning to her magical deviation condition.
She reached out her hand, but she was soon sent to the bed and lay right next to Miko, falling into hibernation like the other pantheon members.
'I'm sorry...' Elysia bit her lower lips as she couldn't bear to see Megami's sad expression.
It was rare for Megami to show such an emotion, but she was running out of options, and she was worried about a lot of things considering the condition of her pantheon members and Sera's unpredictable stance.
After sealing her soul realm, inner space, and subspace to secure everything from Sera's celestial eyes, she slowly opened her eyes.
Instead of the refreshment that was felt after a complete recovery, what assaulted her mind right after her recovery slumber was utter confusion.
She found she was in a completely strange environment, and it was definitely not part of Sera.
'Did she dump me here? Why didn't my alarm warn me of anything? Even Megami didn't feel the change...' Elysia muttered in confusion as she scanned the surrounding area.
Apparently, it was an uninhabited mini-planet. She visited many places like this when she explored the Boundless Realm with Ai. Sunlight was non-existent here, just like any other planet in the Boundless Realm. So, it was dark, an eternal night.
As she looked down, she found that her futon and blanket were still the same. Her barrier was not even touched by anything. Since Megami and her alarm noticed nothing, so everything should still be safe. Even Sera never touched her when she was asleep.
At that moment, she floated right above a large blue mushroom in the middle of a black meadow that glowed a faint blue. It felt like being in a dream realm filled with many dimly glowing grass and large mushrooms.
"You finally wake up."
A familiar ethereal voice sounded from beneath the large mushroom.
Startled, Elysia hurriedly peeked down and spread her divine sense. How surprised she was to find a twelve-winged ethereal, celestial lady sitting down there as if waiting for her to wake up.
The celestial lady's twelve wings unfurled in radiant splendor, each pair layered elegantly behind the other. Those feathers shimmered like woven starlight by dawn. The wings arched high above the lady, vast and immaculate, glowing faintly with twelve-edged golden halos that resembled a divine sun, manifested by sacred energy that trailed soft light.
Her long, silken white hair flowed like a silver river caught in moonlight, cascading down her back and drifting weightlessly, as though untouched by gravity. Each strand shimmered with a soft, opalescent sheen, moving gently with the divine aura that surrounded her.
Her golden eyes were aglow with quiet power, warm and holy yet piercing, like twin suns that could gaze into anyone's soul. She wore a flowing robe of celestial white and gold, stitched with ethereal threads that shimmered in complex patterns, like sacred runes alive with light. A circle of radiant gold crowned her brow, delicate yet potent, humming with divine resonance.
Around her, the air shimmered with a golden aura, gentle and radiant, like sunlight passing through the sacred glass. It rippled softly with each breath she took, spreading serenity and awe. Her presence was music in silence, a living hymn, too beautiful to be true, too powerful to be ignored.
Elysia had been staring at the celestial lady for five minutes without even blinking, too fascinated and stunned by the celestial beauty, wondering the true identity of this enchanting goddess.
That was what happened when she appreciated beauty, but she just couldn't help it because this unknown celestial lady could rival Elena's god mode appearance.
"Have you looked at me enough?" Sera closed her eyes and sighed, wondering why Elysia stared at her wordlessly for so long. Elysia should have realized who she really was even with those lesser godly eyes.
Elysia jolted slightly. It took a moment of pause for her to recall what happened, and register the situation, and the familiarity she felt from the celestial lady soon led her to Sera.
She gulped her saliva as the assumption fell to a conclusion. Feeling less than certain, she opened her mouth to ask for clarification from the person directly. "Are, are you Sera? I didn't know you had a human form too..."
"My true form is still too much for you. It wouldn't be balanced and fair if I had to force you to face my true power, especially in the current you. Hm, your hair color changed, and you dropped a tier..." Sera flapped her twelve wings, flying in front of Elysia, gazing far beyond what the eye could see.
She copied Elysia's hair color because she liked the silver hair with a tint of purplish-blue nebula at the tip, but Elysia's hair color had already changed to black hair that faintly exuded purple hues. Elysia's power dropped a lot, but strangely, she could sense it was far more pure than ever, unlike the previous mixed divinities.
"Mm, I'm weakened now. Thanks to you..." Elysia looked down, aware that she was just a 14th Rank Goddess at most, but she soon realized Sera hinted about something that piqued her interest for a long time. "But, is tier the power system you are using? May I know how weak I am right now?"
"You were previously tier-4, but now you are tier-5 at most." Sera responded nonchalantly.
"I see..." Elysia still didn't understand Sera's power system, but she shouldn't ask too much and ruin Sera's mood. Unfortunately, considering their previous encounter, she still had to inquire about it to make sure.
"Do you want to attack me again and force a battle like before? Can we sit down and talk, Lady Sera?" Elysia kept her tone polite to express her respect, humbling herself as if asking for mercy.
"I'm not waiting for you for another match. We can postpone it for another time. I shall discover your origin sooner or later. I want to know what you want to show me." Sera averted her gaze.
She could research Elysia further whenever she wanted, and she could also uncover more about Elysia's origin regarding Elysia's relationship with that entity. Elysia possessed the gate to the Boundless Realm in the past, and she shouldn't keep bullying Elysia when she already recognized Elysia as her property.
"Really? Then, please allow me to show you something about them that I wish to research and show you!" Elysia beamed with joy, happy because she could use this opportunity to take hold of the rein. "But, we need to find them first, especially the Sovereign of Abyss, Lady Sera..."
"Drop the lady thing. I'm not used to your sudden formality. I prefer the old brazen you." Sera crossed her arms, feeling strange over Elysia's sudden change in treatment and attitude towards her.
It might be related to her human form, and she could tell her appearance truly captured Elysia's preference. It served her intention to catch all of Elysia's attention, but she preferred the old Elysia.
More than anything, Elysia had no way to notice her current form was just her avatar, an extremely high-tier clone extracted from her essence. It could also serve to test Elysia for her other intentions, and she was looking forward to what would happen later.
"Alright!" Elysia saluted with a bright smile adorned her face.
"..." Sera was speechless of how Elysia changed to the brazen one, but far more cheerful than she could remember. She just shrugged at it and took out a spatial orb, containing the sealed Sovereign of Abyss.
Together, Sera brought Elysia to dissect the Sovereign of Abyss, studying the forbidden evolutionary paths and new understanding about the corruption of unknown origin that gnawed at the edges of existence.
The Sovereign of Abyss refused to disclose anything, and because of that, Elysia with Sera's help tried to extract as much information as they could obtain through other means, even though what they did could be considered cruel.
Occasionally, they would venture to the Boundless Realm to observe that dark universe, especially the civilization of shadow beasts and the newly arrived competitor race, the abyssal demons.
As the Boundless Realm's locals, the shadow beasts suppressed the abyssal demons through and through.
However, although the abyssal demon's innate abilities are far inferior to the shadow beast, the resistance of the abyssal demons as the corrupted monsters that once ruined the Divine World of Quadtria was not weak. They fought for territory, and their fights were like a pack of wolves trying to seize the territory of a pack of tigers.
Those monsters were unaware that two overlords watched their battles with interest. Furthermore, the master origin of the abyssal demons, the Sovereign of Abyss, could only stare at it in silence as he gazed upon his creation and got slaughtered left and right.
He was intrigued by those shadow monsters, but he could do nothing since he had fallen on the enemy's hand and was reduced to a mere test subject, suffering many cruelties and experiments as it was the fate of the loser...
"That's the end of the show." Sera concluded as the remaining abyssal demons fled, scattering in all directions like headless flies, and the shadow beasts didn't want to chase after the losers.
"Mm, I'm increasingly convinced that those shadow beasts are Ruvoid's origin before their evolution." Elysia crossed her arms and nodded.
"Ruvoid? You mentioned this before..."
"Yeah, they gave me a hard time. Furthermore, they invaded before I ascended into godhood."
"It must have been a tough fight, but since you're alive, so you won despite still being a mortal."
"Mm, yeah..."
"That's good. Then, let's have a friendly spar again. You should have recovered enough, and I'll limit my power to tier-5."
"..."
Elysia paused for a moment, feeling a little uneasy as it was time for her to spar with Sera once again. She would be bullied for sure, but she couldn't escape Sera at the moment.
Furthermore, if Sera would indeed match her current power, she probably could gain something like new insight and receive guidance from the celestial being like Sera. Sera could guide and train her instead!
Elysia prepared her mind, heart, spirit, and body before accepting the challenge happily. "Yeah, sure~"
Sera stored the Sovereign of Abyss somewhere safe and sealed before taking Elysia to somewhere empty.
