Chapter 174: CyberOP (E)

Jin too joined Specy and Ice and was observing Shadow’s training when he heard a sudden sound in his mind.

Ping!

Jin frowned a little bit. However, he knew that this sound came from his mind, so instead of looking around, the first thing he did was to open up his system panel.

’Oh? Impressive," Jin thought after seeing the new changes in the store’s format.

A separate section for skills had been added, and another thing that caught his eye was that swift steps could become upgradable.

’So even after all that training, I’ve only reached a C grade in Swift Steps,’ Jin thought to himself.

He had enough points to upgrade it now and make it reach the peak, but he resisted his urge.

’I’ll start with the upgrade in stages. It will be too eye-catching and shocking for everyone if I suddenly master Swift Steps.’ With this thought, Jin focused his attention back on the monitor.

Shadow kept trying to make as little sound as possible with each shuttle, and Ice, who was to go next, kept informing him about his decibel level and timings.

After fifteen minutes, it was Ice’s turn, and she didn’t show any signs of progress and Specy and Jin’s results were also lacklustre.

Like this, three hours passed. During this period, they all went inside the training room three times each.

They seemed to have gotten something, but the feeling was way too vague, and they needed more practice and time to think over it.

Brown entered through the door the next moment.

"You all look very exhausted," Brown said, looking at their red faces and continued, "Let’s move on to your next specialisation area."

They followed after Brown and walked through the narrow passage way for some while before approaching another door.

Brown scanned his hand and entered.

They all followed him inside.

A blast of cold air, much stronger than outside, slammed their face.

"It’s much colder here," Shadow shivered a little bit and looked inside the room. It all made sense the next moment.

Ten workstations were in a single row, one after the other. The room still didn’t look clustered at all.

Behind the workstations was a huge screen placed on the wall. It felt as if one was looking at a theatre screen, just a tad bit smaller, though.

If that was not enough, there was a glass door at the end of the room.

"Come on, let me show you what’s inside," Brown opened the glass door.

The room inside was the same size as the other room, if not larger. Filled with cables which were lit with blue and yellow light, it interconnected several different systems.

"This room houses twenty advanced GPUs, ten server stacks, five backup units, a liquid cooling array, along with several other hardware you’ll be getting familiar with in the coming month," Brown explained as he showed them from the entrance.

"Wow...so amazing," Specy said in awe. He had never seen a room like this, even though he had worked with a lot of computers.

As for others, their face carried a conflicting feeling because of how overwhelmed they felt.

Unlike Specy, they weren’t tech-savvy.

"I can understand from your face what you’re thinking," Brown snickered and continued, "You’ll be covering and learning everything about computers, small-scale attacks and hacking during the following month in here,"

Brown pointed at the workstations and continued, "Sit on whichever you want. In every workstation, there is an application named ’CyberOP’.

Open it up and start learning. It’s a specially designed application where not only will you learn every theory in as little time a possible but you will also apply it the exact next moment.

Suppose you’re being taught how to hack, then after you’ve gone through theory, you’ll be given a real-time target to hack. It could be a small server of a company or could even be Roscosta’s Space Agency,"

Brown chuckled at the end while the others, hearing him, were shocked.

"Won’t that land us into trouble?" Jin asked.

"Nope, added precaution has been made, and no matter what, even if you made a great blunder, your location will not be revealed. Oh, but I might give you a negative evaluation." Brown joked.

"This is so unbelievable ..." Specy muttered.

Excitement was clear on his face, and he couldn’t wait to try everything out.

However, it was the complete opposite for Shadow, Jin and Ice.

Brown looked at this contrast in an amused fashion, ’All right, study well. I’ll come back in three hours," saying that he left the room.

"Look at Specy, he’s almost salivating," Shadow snorted and took a workstation.

"If you attack me like that, I’ll not help you with the doubts you’ll come up with in the future," Specy said playfully.

"Haha Specy, you jest. Isn’t it normal for friends to joke with each other? And in the same manner, friends always help each other...don’t you agree?" Shadow blurted out without an ounce of shame.

Seeing him like this made the other three chuckle. They all soon took their workstations and opened the application, CyberOp.

There were thirty folders inside it, named Day 1 to Day 30.

They clicked on ’Day 1’

It started with a few videos, so everyone put on their headphones the next moment and focused on their screens.

Jin was hesitant at first, but as he kept watching, several concepts about computers, software and hardware became clearer to him, thus raising his interest in the subject.

It was the same with everyone.

Whenever a complicated topic came, the application would open a related software in another screen and show it to them.

The more they watched, the more their concepts got cleared, and the more engrossed they became. Before long, three hours had passed, and Brown came to take them away.
