My Horny Stepmom Turns Me into Her Vampire Slave-Chapter 15: Mismatch
"Elemental Invocation ● Earth: Monolith!"
An enormous stone column erupts from the ground at Alex’s feet and surges toward Chris, but he dodges it at the last moment with a quick sidestep.
Elisabeth, however, doesn’t just watch.
"Elemental Invocation ● Ice: Piercing Frost!"
A sharp cone of ice forms above her head and shoots toward Chris.
Once again he comes out unharmed, shattering the ice cone with a swift strike of his blood katana.
"My dear friend Chris has become a vampire. The Valakis are the ones who turned you, huh? Truly a day full of surprises," Alexander says with an amused grin.
"I could say the same about you and Ely. What kind of creatures are you?"
"We are humans, not disgusting creatures like you," Elisabeth cuts in.
"A few minutes ago you didn’t seem to find me that disgusting."
"Only because I didn’t know you were one of them. Just thinking that a filthy vampire came inside me makes my stomach turn. An insult you will pay dearly for! Elemental Invocation ● Ice: Freezing Mist!"
A cold fog thickens around the battlefield, forming a dome over the area.
H-How is it possible that Ely and Alex are humans? But Mia only mentioned humans capable of using Sacred Light. The spells they’re using don’t look anything like that.
Perfect. I don’t even know what the hell I’m facing, and it’s two against one. I’m really in serious trouble...
"Well done, sister. Now leave it to me! Elemental Invocation ● Earth: Monolith!"
Once again Alexander summons the same column of stone.
Chris tries to dodge it again like before, but this time without success.
The column hits him square in the gut, sending him flying.
Blood spurts from his mouth along with a piercing scream. But by the time he manages to stand up again, both his internal and external wounds have already regenerated.
D-Damn it, this cold mist is slowing me down. That’s the last thing I need when I’m facing two opponents who attack from long range. My physical superiority is useless if I can’t get close to them... The only option is to try to escape.
It won’t be easy, but right now I don’t have any other choice.
Chris begins to back away cautiously, keeping his guard raised without turning his back on them.
Not far behind him lies a dense wooded area, and he intends to use it to hide from them.
But Alexander immediately understands his plan before Chris can put it into action.
"You really think we’ll let you escape? Poor fool. Elemental Invocation ● Earth: Stone Wall!"
Behind Chris a tall, thick wall of rock rises, cutting off his only escape route.
Shit... shit... shit! I’m done for! This isn’t fair... I’m still too young to die! I can’t leave this world before having sex with Isabelle! I’ll never allow it!
Cornered, Chris raises his rapier toward them, ready to defend himself, when... BOOM!
The rock wall behind him shatters like brittle terracotta.
When the dust from the shattered wall clears, Chris’s eyes light up with hope like never before.
"I-Isabelle... I’ve never been so happy to see you!" Chris whimpers, tears of joy in his eyes.
But she shoots him a glare that terrifies him even more than the enemies he was just facing.
"You and I will settle accounts later, traitorous slave."
Chris breaks out in a cold sweat.
Oh shit, don’t tell me... she saw what happened between me and Ely? Did she follow me? Damn... at this point, dying at the hands of those two might have been the lesser evil...
Isabelle turns her icy gaze toward Alexander and Elisabeth. She points her large sword at them as a crimson storm rages around her.
"The two of you couldn’t defeat someone who has only been a vampire for a week. You are the weakest elemental mages I have ever seen. Killing two nobodies like you would only be a waste of energy — leave before I change my mind."
"H-How dare you speak to me and my brother like that?! Now I’ll make you swallow those words!"
"No, sister, stop! That woman... she’s the Platinum Death! Lord Julius ordered us to flee if we ever faced her! Don’t do anything stupid!"
But Elisabeth pays no attention to his warning.
"Elemental Invocation ● Ice: Piercing—"
But before she can finish the spell, Isabelle is already behind her, their backs touching.
Thin streams of blood trickle from the corners of Elisabeth’s mouth.
A moment later, her head separates from her neck and rolls onto the ground. The rest of her body collapses heavily.
"E-Elisabeth..." Alexander stammers weakly, shocked by the sight of his sister’s decapitated corpse.
He clenches his fists and grits his teeth as tears stream down his cheeks.
Isabelle’s blood-red eyes are now fixed on him.
"Do you want to end up like her too?"
He is blinded by rage and the desire for revenge. The temptation to face her burns within him, but a spark of reason stops him at the last moment from making a reckless move.
Elisabeth... Lord Julius warned us... why did you do this? Why...? I have no choice but to run now. But one day I will avenge you... forgive me.
Alexander has no choice but to flee.
"W-Who the hell were they? They told me they were humans, but from what little I know, humans shouldn’t be able to use magic," Chris murmurs.
His distressed, frightened gaze remains fixed on Elisabeth’s corpse. A sight that leaves him shaken despite everything.
"Not humans of this world."
"Humans exist on Elyndra too?"
"Elyndra and Earth are not the only worlds — there are others. One of them is N-Raeth, a world very similar to this one, inhabited by humans capable of using magic. Specifically, those two were elemental mages, but there are many other forms of magic. Anyway, we have more important things to discuss — and you already know what I mean"
Chris lowers his gaze.
"I’m in trouble, aren’t I...?"
"We’ll talk about it in my bed. Now let’s go home."
