My Husband Is a Million Years Old Vampire-Chapter 121
Chapter 121: Chapter 121
Sebastian’s words hung in the air like a slap to the face.
Immediately Valentina’s father blinked slowly, confusion wrestling with disbelief on his face. Maria, standing beside him, squinted slightly, her brows twitching as if trying to recall something buried deep in her mind.
"Wait a minute..." her husband muttered, turning toward Maria. "Sterling Design... that name sounds familiar, doesn’t it?"
Maria folded her arms, her lips tight in thought. "Isn’t Sterling Design... one of the companies under GSK?"
Her tone was laced with sudden urgency, the pieces beginning to form in her mind.
Sebastian, who had been scrolling through something on his phone smugly, chuckled as he looked up. "Yes. They are. But relax—they’re nothing major. If I’m right, they’re ranked somewhere in tier five or tier six in the GSK structure. Very low. No real influence."
Valentina’s father tilted his head slightly, his eyes narrowing. "Tier six?" he echoed.
Sebastian nodded.
"Yeah. They don’t make decisions. They just follow orders. A name on paper, not power."
But that was when something clicked in Valentina’s father’s head. He looked at Maria again, his voice dropping to a mix of realization and disbelief.
"If Sterling Design is tier six... then they’re not so far from where we are." He paused, the weight of that truth settling on his shoulders. "Which means... if Valentina is now the director of Sterling Design..."
He turned fully toward Sebastian, his mouth slightly open.
"That just means one thing," he said quietly, the disbelief thick in his tone.
"Valentina... is actually in my own position right now."
The room fell into an odd silence as Sebastian leaned against the edge of the table, his voice clipped, his face still red from rage.
"How did she even get there?" her asked in disbelief, his brows tightly furrowed.
Another scoffed, crossing his arms. "No, seriously. How? What is actually going on?"
They all looked at each other, confused, suspicious, as if someone had just told them the sky had turned green.
"Who told you about this?" Maira finally voiced the question that had been hanging in the air.
Sebastian didn’t answer immediately. His jaw worked for a moment, trying to find the right words. Then, with a deep breath, he muttered, "I went there myself."
Their eyes widened.
"You what?"
"I went to Sterling Design to see it with my own eyes." Sebastian’s voice was low now, like the weight of the truth was pressing against his pride.
"And?" one of them asked, already knowing but still not able to believe.
"It’s true," Sebastian replied bitterly.
"She’s the director. She walked up to me with that smug face of hers, like she was better than me. Then she had the guts to call security. Order them to walk me out like I was nothing."
Shock ran through the room again. Then Maria whistled slowly under his breath.
"Damn... So it’s not a joke."
"No, it’s not," Sebastian snapped, his voice rising again. "That’s why came here. I’m not letting this go. I’m not going to stand by and let her humiliate me, and I’m sure as hell not going to let that useless excuse of a man she married get away with it either."
At that moment his fingers dug into the edge of the table.
"Damien is going to regret this. I swear it."
One of them gave him a look.
"So what do you want from us?"
"I want you to help me talk some sense into Valentina. Call her. Warn her. Because next time—" he stepped back, his voice dropping into something darker, "—next time she pulls another stunt like what she did today, in front of Sterling Design, I won’t take it lightly."
The room stayed quiet for a few seconds.
Sebastian’s final words landed like a threat against concrete.
"I’ll destroy her. And that so-called husband of hers. Useless man."
At that moment Valentina’s father sat stiffly on the edge of the couch, his brows deeply furrowed. Maria stood by the window, her arms folded tightly across her chest, biting her lower lip anxiously.
They both looked like people who had just been slapped by reality. The news they’d just heard had landed heavier than expected.
Valentina—director of Sterling Design?
It didn’t make sense.
"She got the job?" Maria finally broke the silence, her voice barely above a whisper.
Her father didn’t answer immediately. He simply stared ahead, mind racing. Just a few days ago, they were sure Valentina would come crawling back. She was stubborn, yes. But she was also career-driven—her life revolved around ambition and stability.
And they had banked on that.
She would lose her footing, become frustrated, and return. At least, that was the plan.
But now? Not only had she landed on her feet, she had done it so quickly that they couldn’t even process the fall, let alone the recovery.
"How did she even...?" he finally muttered. "Sterling Design of all places?"
Maria turned around sharply.
"Do you think it’s Raymond? Is he the one who helped her?"
He didn’t respond.
The silence that followed was tense, heavy with disappointment and disbelief.
Then came Sebastian’s voice, raised and irritated, pacing the room with fire in his eyes. "I told you two! I told you she would act like this! That girl has no respect—none!"
Maria quickly rushed to his side, her tone suddenly soft and pleading.
"Sebastian, please... don’t be angry. Don’t let her get to you. We’re going to call her to order."
"Yes," her father added, snapping out of his daze. "Don’t worry about her anymore. You can do whatever you want with Raymond. Deal with him however you see fit. For Valentina, just leave her to us. We’ll handle her."
Sebastian scoffed, shaking his head. "Handle her? That girl isn’t the same Valentina anymore. She’s changed."
However Maria tried to smile, though it didn’t quite reach her eyes. "We’ll talk to her. We’ll remind her where she comes from."
"You better," Sebastian snapped. "Because I’m done playing nice."
Meanwhile, Valentina’s father was still lost in thought, his pride wounded beyond repair.
He couldn’t wrap his head around it—how had she climbed so quickly? Who pulled the strings?
How did Valentina get to that position?
He was still very, very shocked. He did not quite understand what was actually going on anymore. Everything was just very, very strange to them.
