My Husband Is a Million Years Old Vampire-Chapter 146
Chapter 146: Chapter 146
At that moment Chloe’s face darkened with frustration. Her eyes cut toward the sales attendants with barely concealed contempt. How dare they interrupt her moment? She had come here to make a statement—to crush Valentina beneath her words, to remind her that her place was far below.
But now? That moment was slipping.
Immediately she clenched her fists, nails digging into her palms. She couldn’t make a scene. Not here. Not when everyone was watching.
So, with a forced smile curling on her lips, she turned slowly toward Victoria.
At that moment her expectations shattered the moment she looked at her.
Victoria wasn’t standing proud. She wasn’t backing her up. She was... hiding.
Her head was lowered, hands clasped tightly in front of her like a schoolgirl who had been caught doing something wrong. Her entire frame screamed discomfort, as though she wished the floor would open up and swallow her whole.
Immediately Chloe’s brow twitched.
"Seriously?"
She leaned in, her voice low and sharp, "Victoria... what are you doing?"
However Victoria didn’t answer. Her eyes refused to meet Chloe’s.
Chloe whispered again, this time more forcefully, "Why aren’t you saying anything? This—this is your chance. Isn’t this what you’ve always wanted?"
Still, nothing. Victoria shifted uncomfortably but didn’t speak.
Chloe’s jaw tightened even more.
"If both of us join hands together, definitely we are going to deal with Valentina."
Again Chloe narrowed her eyes, waiting—no, demanding—support. But all Victoria did was slowly nod her head, avoiding eye contact.
Victoria silence didn’t make sense. That wasn’t what she expected.
Chloe stepped closer. "Wait... What? That’s it? A nod?" Her voice rose just a little, sharp and disbelieving. "Are you sick or something? What’s going on with you, Victoria? Are you alright?"
Victoria’s lips parted, but no fire came. Just a weary breath. Her shoulders drooped as she turned slightly away.
"Let’s just go," she said quietly.
Chloe blinked. "Excuse me?"
Victoria finally looked up. "I heard what the sales rep said. It’s better we don’t cause a scene here. Let’s just leave Valentina alone."
The words stung. Chloe stared at her like she was a stranger. But Victoria wasn’t done.
"Nemesis is going to catch up with her soon. That’s all I’ll say for now," Victoria added, her tone calm but steady. "Don’t waste your energy on her. That’s what she wants—to ruin your face, to make you angry enough to do something reckless."
Again Chloe didn’t reply. She couldn’t, she still doesn’t why Victoria of all people would be siding Valentina.
Someone who always looking for any opportunities to belittle her and her under her skin is now looking as if she’s supporting her.
Victoria looked her over for a moment longer, then said one last thing, gently but firmly, "Don’t forget where you’re going tomorrow. Everyone’s going to be watching you because of Liam. You’re his fiancée now. The last thing you need is to show up with a scratch on your face. That would be disgraceful."
Chloe nodded after hearing Victoria. "Alright," she said with a sharp tone. "I heard you. Maybe you’re right. Maybe that’s what Valentina want. She wanted to drag me down to her level."
At that moment she turned to Valentina. "I’m not like you," Chloe said, pointing at her. "I don’t act like animals. I don’t need to scream to prove anything."
Valentina didn’t move. She stayed quiet, but her silence made Chloe more upset.
"You’re lucky today," Chloe continued. "I’m going to let this slide. But next time you open your mouth to say rubbish to me, I swear, I won’t walk away. I’ll finish it."
At that moment Victoria tried to pull Chloe back gently. "Let’s go, Chloe," she whispered. "It’s not worth it, let it go..."
Chloe hesitated, then looked one more time at Valentina. "You think you’ve won, right? Just because you’re standing here? You won’t always be lucky."
They turned to leave, Just then, the sales attendant stepped forward. She smiled and turned to Raymond.
"Sir, the other four gowns you picked and the Celestia Gown are being prepared," she said clearly. "They’ll be brought out in less than thirty minutes."
Immediately Chloe stopped walking.
"What?" she said quietly, turning her head.
At that moment Victoria looked confused. "Four gowns, with the Celestia Gown?" she repeated in a soft voice.
Chloe stared at Raymond, then at Valentina.
Her heart dropped.
They’re not just looking. They’re buying. Expensive ones.
Immediately she clenched her jaw even more. "Four?" she whispered to herself. "Do they think they’re royalty or something?"
Victoria didn’t say anything. But deep inside, she felt small.
Chloe blinked, struggling to hide her shock.
Raymond didn’t even look at them. He was relaxed, calm—like he was used to this, Chloe gritted her teeth. They came to compete... and we’re already losing.
Both Chloe and Victoria froze even more.
They weren’t just shocked—they were speechless.
Everyone in the country knew about The Celestia Gown. That dress wasn’t just any dress. It was known everywhere. Made with real diamonds, soft glowing fabric, and hand-stitched by the best designer in the world.
Only three people had ever owned it.
The first was the wife of Maxwell Trent, the richest business mogul in the world. His wife wore it to an international gala once. People still talked about it.
The second was a celebrity—Mira Blaze—the most followed star in the words. She wore it once on a global runway.
The third? No one had bought the third one yet. Everyone said it was too expensive. Too special. It had been kept locked away, waiting for someone important enough.
Now... it was being brought out not just to anyone but Valatina.
Chloe blinked twice.
"This is a joke, right?" she said sharply, her voice rising.
The sales attendant looked calm. "No, ma’am. Not a joke."
"You know what you’re saying?" Chloe asked, stepping forward. "You’re saying that gown—the diamond one—will be brought here also? In thirty minutes?"
"Yes," the woman replied.
Chloe looked around, confused. "For who?"
The attendant pointed toward Valentina with a polite smile. "For her."
