Chapter 48: The meeting

Everyone was trembling.

The mere news of the Light Domain’s dissipation was enough to drive them into despair, but now there were other intelligent and superior races involved too.

Alex inhaled deeply and steadied himself.

He took out the communicator and called his mother.

"Mom, come to the Celestus house," he said calmly.

"Okay." Elizabeth didn’t ask anything further.

"Master, this whole situation should be some kind of trial from a higher cosmic system, don’t you think?" Alex asked.

Elyndros was genuinely surprised that Alex could reach such a conclusion so quickly.

"Judging by everything, it does seem so. We are most likely guinea pigs who have been spoon-fed for five hundred years, and now the experiment is about to begin," Elyndros replied.

"So, we have sixteen years before the Light Domain dissipates. To maintain the barrier during those sixteen years, we will need monster cores. But now that the dark miasma is vanishing, other races will be able to detect our location, and we won’t be able to go out hunting freely. Correct?" Alex analyzed calmly.

Elyndros’ eyes widened.

"How are you this calm in a situation like this? And how is your mind functioning so accurately?"

"Master, is there anyone with teleportation talents?" Alex asked, ignoring the question.

"Yes. There are. I believe more than one. Why?" Elyndros responded.

"I want you to introduce someone like that to me. And tell the Vice President to call everyone back inside the Light Domain immediately. Other races might appear very soon. We need to observe them from within the domain, not outside it."

Alex was issuing orders to one of the most powerful Emperors of the Light Domain.

Elyndros simply nodded and contacted Arthur, explaining everything.

Arthur had been panicking inside the Alliance Hall. After hearing Elyndros’ words, he gradually calmed down.

"That brat is truly reliable when it matters," Arthur muttered with a faint smile.

"Bring him to the meeting of the Emperors. I will ask everyone, including the President, to return inside the Light Domain," Arthur said firmly.

Anna stepped out of the house and stood beside Alex. She remained silent, listening carefully.

"Alex, let’s head to the Alliance. A meeting will begin soon," Elyndros said.

"But let’s eat first. Only a full stomach can give birth to brilliant ideas."

The tense atmosphere instantly lightened, and laughter broke out.

"Let’s eat. You can have as much as you want. I won’t be stingy today," Elyndros said with a grin.

Alex scratched his neck awkwardly, slightly embarrassed.

.....

The entire Light Domain had fallen into panic, though most people did not know the full details. It should have been a joyous occasion that the dark miasma was dissipating, but the announcement about intelligent races instead of monsters left a thorn lodged in everyone’s throat.

Arthur contacted the President and explained everything.

Since he had been outside, he had not heard the announcement himself.

Julius immediately decided to return from the Amazon Forest, which was seventy thousand kilometers away from the Light Domain.

His team, the strongest in the domain, consisted of six members. Among them was one who possessed a space portal talent.

He could connect two distant locations through his portals.

Julius glanced at the fleeing, injured T-Rex in the Emperor Realm. But he no longer had the time to pursue it.

Everyone stepped into the portal.

Those already inside contacted anyone still outside and ordered them to return immediately to the Light Domain.

The ones outside had already sensed that the dark miasma was thinning. They initially assumed something was wrong in their immediate surroundings, but once they received the calls, they did not hesitate any longer.

.....

After breakfast,

Alex and Elyndros boarded their spaceship.

"My mom is coming here. Please look after her," Alex said gently to Anna.

"Please don’t worry," Anna reassured him softly. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

.....

The spaceship lifted into the sky and vanished.

"Master, how long can a single Emperor core sustain the barrier?" Alex asked.

"About seven days," Elyndros replied flatly.

"So little? What about the reserves? How many do we currently have?" Alex pressed further.

"We can maintain it for about six months. After Julius returns, we’ll see how many cores he has gathered this time," Elyndros answered.

Alex began calculating.

Once he obtained the wristband, he would be cultivating twenty-four hours a day. If he could maintain the tenfold cultivation speed for six months, it would be equivalent to five full years of progress.

With the progressive algorithm of his system, he estimated he would reach approximately Level 68, officially entering the Emperor Realm.

And his combat strength would vastly surpass that of ordinary Martial Emperors.

Alex exhaled slowly in relief. If he became as powerful as an Emperor, with his talents, he would be capable of crushing any monsters or foreign races that might soon appear at their doorstep.

They arrived at the Alliance headquarters within twenty minutes.

Countless powerful auras filled the air from every direction.

"Mister Elyndros, what is your opinion on this situation?" several Emperors asked.

Elyndros answered vaguely. Even he did not fully understand what was unfolding.

Alex walked beside him silently.

Soon they entered the grand meeting hall, where a massive elongated table stood, surrounded by hundreds of chairs.

Arthur was already present.

He glanced at Elyndros and Alex.

"Please sit here," Arthur gestured for Elyndros to take a seat near the President’s main position.

As for Alex, he was given the seat to Arthur’s right.

"Where is Julius?" Elyndros asked after sitting down.

"The President has arrived. He is freshening up," Arthur replied.

Alex’s mind, however, was buzzing with excitement. He would finally witness the gathering of the most powerful talents in the entire domain.

One by one, the Emperors took their seats.

They were surprised to see Alex seated beside Arthur but chose to remain silent.

"What is a brat like him doing in a meeting of Emperors? I know he is talented and has enormous potential, but we are speaking only of potential. He might have become an Emperor if he had enough time, but we no longer have that luxury. He is not worthy to sit here among us," someone remarked coldly.

[Name: Marcus Nightveil

Talent: Assassin (SS)

Rank: Level 8 Emperor

Note: Can merge with shadows and increase speed ninefold.]

Several Emperors nodded in agreement.

Elyndros snorted coldly, and an overwhelming, cataclysmic pressure descended upon Marcus.

"Who the hell are you to decide who is worthy of sitting here?"

The crushing force nearly buckled Marcus to his knees, but another immense pressure surged forward and collided with Elyndros’, neutralizing it.

"Elyndros, do you truly wish to display tyranny at a time like this? Remember, the Nightveils do not fear war."

Alex shifted his gaze to the man standing beside Marcus.

[Name: Luis Nightveil

Talent: Dark Element Manipulation (SS)

Rank: Level 9 Emperor

Note: Ancestor of the Nightveil Clan.]

"Then instruct your son to keep his filthy mouth shut," Elyndros replied without the slightest tremor.

Arthur looked at the Nightveil duo coldly.

"This is the Alliance, not your clan. Alex is the Grade 0 elite of the Alliance. I am the one who decides who may sit here and who may not."

Suddenly, a horrifying aura swept into the hall.

"The old bastard has returned," Elyndros said with a faint smile.
