My Joker System: From Low Mana Trash to the Mightiest Wizard!-Chapter 151: New Living Conditions
Chapter 151: New Living Conditions
A few hundred meters away from the renowned gates of the Grand Magic Academy, a black-haired young man and his adolescent wolf cub made a few adjustments.
Loki jumped to the back of the Suzoke Pathblazer IV, standing up with his hind legs and putting his front paws on Hal’s back.
The master, on the other hand, quickly detached the sidecar and kept it in the system’s inventory.
"Remember, Loki, you must keep your tongue inside your mouth until we reach the dormitory, alright?" Hal reminded.
"Woof!"
The next moment, he revved the motorcycle again, moved forward, and turned the corner to enter the Grand Magic Academy’s gates.
’Heh, now, how about you guys look my way? Arcana Primis Cup Champion, coming through on a Manatech Motorcycle!’
People did look his way.
Unfortunately, before he even reached the halfway point of the main path, an instructor stepped into his way, forcing him to stop.
"Stop!" the brown-haired male instructor with a slim physique exclaimed, his arms crossed over his chest. "Where are you going with that motorcycle? Park it there! Only hoverboards are allowed beyond this point!"

’Damn it, how lame...’ Hal cursed inwardly as he walked dejectedly with Loki back to his dormitory room.
Only when he noticed people looking at him with gazes of admiration, pointing, and whispering did his mood begin to improve.
’Hahahaha, that’s right, that’s right. The Arcana Primis Cup champion is to be admired and used as inspiration. With my one percent mana affinity, my rise will probably become a legendary tale of overcoming the odds, no?’
Indulging his delusions, Hal arrived at his dormitory room.
But when he opened it, he froze, his smile turning into an awkward one.
In front of him was a petrified young woman in the middle of changing her clothes.
"My...bad?" were the only words Hal could say as he quickly slammed the door shut.
"NOOOO!!!! GET OUT!!" shrieked the young woman with long pale yellow hair.
Hal didn’t know what to do, and before he knew it, he was sprinting full speed with Loki to the Deputy Headmaster’s office to clarify the situation.
He realized that it was indeed inappropriate for the Arcana Primis Cup champion to stay in a dilapidated dormitory room.
’T-That said, she sure has a nice body...’ Hal praised inwardly, partly because his manly instincts were stirred and partly because he indeed admired the young woman’s well-toned body.
She probably worked hard to achieve such a physique.
Around fifteen minutes later, he arrived at the Deputy Headmaster’s Office.
’W-With my status, I should be able to meet him whenever I want to...right?’
Fortunately, before Hal even managed his first knock, the old man’s voice sounded from inside:
"You may come in."
He looked around, and since he was the only one there, Hal assumed that the one granted entry was him.
He quickly turned the knob and entered.
"Deputy Headmaster," greeted Hal with a mandatory bow.
Korvus’ assistants were as serious with their work as always, not even sparing him the slightest bit of attention.
"Hal, allow me to welcome you back. I do hope you’ve already forgiven me for the way I treated you in the past." The deputy headmaster stood up and bowed in return.
Of course, Hal had already forgiven the old man and was beginning to see both him and his undying love for the empire in a new light.
"That matter is already in the past, Deputy Headmaster. I’m also not one to bear a grudge and dwell on such things."
"Thank you, young man." Korvus bowed one last time, finding it way easier this time after getting to know the student a little better.
Hal’s attitude was multiple times better than Lucien’s, at least...
"So, first things first. Your dormitory is now in the five-star building for freshmen, and your room number is 11."
Hal nodded. He expected as much.
"Second, you’re now a five-star student, eligible for transfer to the core students once your wizard rank reaches C. You’ll be a candidate for graduation by then, regardless of your year level."
As for this, Hal expected the first half to be fulfilled, but not the second.
He was just about at the end of his first year at the academy.
He didn’t expect a chance to graduate this soon...
Nonetheless, it was a welcome arrangement, as the academy didn’t really have anything more to offer him.
It was a good starting point, allowing him to rack up small points to get the system going and giving him a chance to officially increase his rank through missions filtered specifically for students.
Basically, the easier missions for each rank up to C were assigned to the academy—ones that could be handled by talented yet slightly inexperienced youngsters.
There were two ways to graduate.
The first was to achieve the wizard rank of C and make it onto the list of core students, who would then be given graduation missions.
If completed successfully, they would graduate early.
The second was to complete four years of regular wizardry education, finish a graduation mission appropriate to one’s current wizard rank, and then graduate without a core student certificate.
It was similar to graduating with or without honors.
Of course, who wouldn’t want to be in the former group?
After all, a core student certificate granted a fifteen percent bonus in coin and contribution point rewards for official guild missions, or a thirty percent higher salary for those who chose to enlist in the military.
It was written into the empire’s laws and could not be broken.
"I see, thanks for fulfilling one of my requests, headmaster."
Korvus smiled at Hal’s words.
He knew that this arrangement should have gone beyond one of the young man’s three requests and was glad that the young man passed his test of character.
If Hal had been a greedy individual, he wouldn’t have counted it as one of his three requests.
Instead, he would have asked for more, something Korvus would have granted, though it would have left the old man disappointed.
The Deputy Headmaster was truly glad that the empire had gained another promising seedling, one that could blossom into one of its sturdiest protectors in the future.
"Well then, what are your other requests? I shall hear them and grant them to the best of my abilities."
