Chapter 44: Exchanging Rewards

The silver whistle was called Worldcaller’s Whistle. It was an incredibly good item, but there was one problem.

’Well, it’s not that bad,’ Leone thought. ’At least I can use BP to turn them into allies.’

The ever-optimistic young man was satisfied with the whistle. After all, it was a special item. A soulbound one!

Daedalus explained that only Leone could use the whistle. Others could blow it. However, they wouldn’t summon any Elemental.

"Alright, let’s exchange your tickets!" Leone announced. "Make sure to choose wisely!"

Daedalus showed a projection of the Arcane Shop, giving everyone a better look at the items they wished to get.

Yuni went first. She exchanged the ticket she won for a Hunter’s Bow that had a longer range and stronger penetrating power.

Her last fight against Astravor made her realize that even if she hit her target, it was as good as useless if they couldn’t penetrate the target’s defense.

Maximus chose a pair of swords meant for dual-wielding. These two swords bore elemental attributes, one being fire and the other ice.

It was a great addition to the White Kobold’s arsenal, which it planned to use to fight for its Master.

Arion then chose the rare horseshoes that increased its mobility by 50%. This increase in mobility also worked in flying, allowing him to travel and maneuver faster in the air.

It also had a 50% increase in stomping and kick attacks, which was a good addition to its special properties.

But Leone was the most surprised with Ulric’s choice.

He exchanged 500 BP for the Boots of Speed. Perhaps his battle with Arlo made him realize that being stronger didn’t mean anything if he couldn’t land his attacks.

This was why he bought the Boots of Speed, which increased his Agility stat by 10 points and his mobility by 100%.

Ulric hit hard enough already, so raising his speed to increase his overall fighting prowess was the best investment.

The next thing Ulric bought was a 500 BP Rare Armor for Fury, which made it very happy.

The Dire Bear was already a formidable beast in its own right.

But an armored Dire Bear?

Bloody hell! That was overkill!

The Arcane Shop was truly a miraculous store. Every piece of equipment it sold came with an Auto-Fit function.

Even when it was on all fours, Fury was at least two meters tall. And on two legs, its height doubled, standing nearly four meters tall.

When Fury wore its silver-gray armor and stood on its hind legs, it truly looked like a beast meant for war.

Even more so if Fury fought against large monsters and giants. After all, its skill, Titan Form, would activate and double its size. Anyone who saw it would be intimidated.

Finally, it was Blitz’s turn.

It asked Daedalus to open its Beast Evolution Tree, where it could choose which path to take.

This Special Evolution Tree Leone unlocked after choosing his three vassals had the power to bestow special bloodlines upon his Familiars.

Even Blitz, an ordinary squirrel, had managed to become something far stronger—a Stormwing Squirrel.

Not only could Blitz fly, but it could also release electrical sparks, which could electrocute its foes upon contact.

But it wanted to unleash those electrical sparks at a target from a distance, rather than closing in on them.

After checking everything, Blitz kept on looking at the Volt Emperor Bloodline, an Epic-Grade Bloodline.

However, unlocking this bloodline cost 2,000 BP, and the little guy had only won 1,000 BP from the spinning wheel.

It looked quite dejected, which was truly pitiful. In the end, Blitz sought lower-bloodline options that would cost only around 1,000 BP.

But Leone chuckled and patted its head.

"If you really want the Volt Emperor Bloodline, I can help you," Leone said with a smile. "I earned a bit of BP from completing my missions so that I can splurge this one time."

The young man then glanced at his two other Familiars and promised to evolve their bloodlines as well once he saved up enough BP.

Maximus and Arion said they weren’t in a hurry and that Leone should prioritize using his BP to strengthen their territory.

"Are you ready, Blitz?" Leone asked.

*Squeak!*

The squirrel patted its chest, declaring it was ready for anything.

"Leone, you might want to put down Blitz on the ground. Things might happen during his evolution. You don’t want to get electrocuted suddenly, don’t you?"

"Right!" Leone placed Blitz down on the ground. "I almost forgot! Everyone, back away. Blitz will become stronger than ever."

Yuni urged the children of her tribe to distance themselves from the cute little squirrel, as she and her father also backed away.

Leone, Maximus, Arion, and Daedalus also moved at least twenty meters away from Blitz before unlocking the Volt Emperor Bloodline on the Best Evolution Tree.

As soon as the young man made his choice. A radiant light enveloped Blitz’s body.

The squirrel squeaked in pain as its entire body was being remodeled to accommodate its new, more powerful bloodline.

Flashes of lightning hit its body, tempering the vessel to accept its powers.

White smoke rose from the place where Blitz stood, and the smell of something burning permeated the cave.

A few minutes later, the electrical zaps disappeared, prompting Arion to flap its wings to blow off the white smoke toward the entrance of the cave.

When the smoke disappeared, they saw a black squirrel lying on the ground. For a brief moment, Leone thought that Blitz had turned into charcoal after getting repeatedly hit by those lightning strikes.

He hurried to the squirrel’s side, but Daedalus blocked his path.

"Wait!" Daedalus shouted. "Don’t worry, Blitz is not dead! Don’t come near it for now. It hasn’t fully adjusted to its new body yet."

As if to prove the grimoire’s words, the black squirrel moved, and yellow sparks snaked around its body.

Leone anxiously looked at the little guy, whose fur color had turned black. However, after looking carefully, he noticed a streak of yellow fur that moved from its forehead to its tail like a lightning bolt.

Blitz had successfully transformed into a Volt Emperor Squirrel, making it perhaps the fastest and deadliest among the vassals serving Leone at the moment.
