My Life In A Fantasy, Women-Dominated World-Chapter 109: Two Scenarios
"He’s under my skill! You have 30 seconds!"
Shouting as he ran with Eva, the new couple easily evaded the minotaur’s eyes and hid in a cover much farther away.
Luckily for them, they had a clear view towards the fight, letting them enjoy the battle and also allowing the possibility to rush towards the team should the need arise.
They watched as the minotaur clutched the burning tree stump in his hands, as that was the only thing left after his brutal ramming, throwing it at the hiding spot where Claire and the group were gathered.
"Aura blade!" Claire intoned to herself, scoffing slightly when she saw the incoming projectile.
Her sword slashed to a side, a bright crescent arc of mana shooting at the tree stump before colliding with it and easily slicing the wood into two clean pieces.
Both the pieces parted, one going to the left while the other swerved to the right, avoiding Claire and her teammates who stood at the center.
And the rest of her team weren’t sitting ducks either, as Katie used her high agility to jump off a pile of rubble, moving towards the 5 meter tall monster while keeping a firm eye on her surroundings as well as his movements.
Her signature weapon was nowhere to be found, but a set of throwing hatchets was now hanging at her waist, which she used to launch a speedy attack on the minotaur’s hide.
Of course, she made sure to keep her distance from the absurdly strong monster.
Lia also channeled her mana, keeping a close eye on the minotaur while intoning spells and launching mana projectiles at the humanoid bull.
"Don’t worry about landing a killing blow! It just needs to be a blow! Don’t endanger yourself and use the range!" Claire barked the orders, drawing her blade and swerving to the right as she looked into the minotaur’s eyes.
And to her surprise, he was looking at her too, the sclera bloodshot and reddened in rage as he shouted out a warcry that none of them managed to understand.
"UWAAAAAAAAA!"
The poor giant looked around, seeing that all the 3 of those puny humans were buzzing around him incessantly with high speed, not daring to come closer.
The first thing he noticed was Katie’s throwing hatchet, his mind refusing to accept that a human dared to attack him with such a tiny and weak weapon.
The thought of it felt like a top tier blasphemy!
He had so much confidence in his strength that he outright disregarded the weapon, his eyes locking back onto the blonde human that was moving towards him from the opposite direction.
She felt like the biggest threat, capable of tearing down the tree with a single slash as he drummed his chest and clenched his hands into a fist, throwing a punch at Claire without a single moment of hesitation.
None of the others were a threat! His body was very strong!
He can kill them anytime he wan...ted...
Katie’s hatchet lodged itself into the thick hide, tearing it slightly with a strange curved design that was built for hacking meat.
But it wasn’t the main issue, the main issue was what came along with the wound...
Pain. Lots of it.
Not even a single attack in, the minotaur’s brain already faltered, pain drumming into his body as he lost his balance and grabbed a crumbling building to restabilize himself from falling.
The punch at Claire and getting rid of her became his last priority as he turned around and glared at Katie who had already taken out another hatchet from her set.
But he seemed to have forgotten that she wasn’t the only enemy he was currently facing...
An aura blade tore open a wound at his back, Claire’s arrogant and cold voice echoing through the destroyed battlefield, "You dare show your back to me during battle?"
The wound barely drew a thin stream of blood, but even that was enough as even a larger amount of pain assaulted him from his side.
He hadn’t even noticed her, his reddened eyes widening when he saw a young woman stabbing a spear deep into his side, before pulling it out and disappearing out of his vision!
Suddenly, he felt as if his back was burning, fiery arrows began to rain down at him, buffed by a masterful usage of wind to make the fire burn brighter and to also reduce the air drag and make the arrows go faster.
There was not a single moment of reprieve for the poor beast. H
He felt like he was surrounded from all four sides and was getting attacked constantly that he couldn’t do anything!
And worse yet, each and every attack hurt so much that he couldn’t even ignore them.
As a minotaur, he used to pride himself on his superior defenses and the absurd pain tolerance, but now fighting this freaky group of humans, he felt as if his pride as a minotaur was getting crushed.
Darkened, black smoke huffed out of his nostrils, the entire body riddled with small attacks, the hide torn at many places that reddish blood flowed out in torrents.
And yet... he didn’t seem weak.
The slumping knees tightened, pain drummed against his brain as if a professional drummer was making a high octane metal music with his brain.
His heartbeats began to race and a louder, much more pain driven warcry erupted out of his bull-like mouth, "TAURA!"
Seeing the change in the monster, Claire’s eyebrows knit in frustration, her gaze flickering to the stopwatch on her wrist as she noted the amount of time remaining for Aaron’s skill.
There were still over 12 seconds remaining in the clock, making Claire believe that her worst fear had just come to life.
For a minotaur, overwhelming pain could only achieve either of the two things.
First: Due to the limited brain capacity, the brain would get overstimulated and burnt out from the pain, causing the minotaur to become slow and weak at worst, and directly become a vegetable at the best case scenario.
However...
Second: That the brain shuts off, allowing the battle-honed instincts of the warrior race to take over and control the body instead. Or in other words... become berserk...
