My Life In A Fantasy, Women-Dominated World-Chapter 111: Rat Chase
After dropping Katie near Eva and Aaron, Jaq swiftly disappeared from the battlefield, running towards the minotaur with a lack of presence.
Hell, unless someone really focused on her, it would be nigh impossible to notice her with the amount of camouflage and stealth skills in her repertoire.
And with her mastery over many different weapons, Jaq was a dangerous rogue on the field, avoiding detection while she beelined towards their last teammate.
"Was waiting for you." Lia wasn’t even surprised when she saw Jaq coming towards her, making the purple rogue scoff in amusement.
"How bout you help our leader instead of waitin’ for the dear ol’ me?" Jaq mused with a heavy accent, but despite the amusement in her tone, her eyes were focused.
"And get myself killed if that bull switches targets? I am not athletic enough to... do that." her head turned towards their leader, who was easily jumping on the shattered roofs, sliding and rolling around smoothly.
And she wasn’t just running, every time her skill came off the cooldown, she launched her aura blade at the minotaur, targeting the parts that were already wounded.
Though with Aaron’s skill off, the berserk bull barely reacted to her attacks.
Jaq’s eyelids twitched at Lia’s retort, knowing that she was absolutely correct.
"Forget it, I will assist Clay, just launch ranged attacks from a safe distance." she sighed, cracking her neck before running at the beast.
"Got it." Lia chuckled before getting serious, closing her eyes and focusing inwards as she summoned her mastery over her two elements.
Fire and Wind.
She was primarily an anemomancer, being highly skilled at the wind magic, however she was slowly developing her fire magic with time since wind was best for support and utility magic, not causing damage.
Not at a lower level and skill as hers, at least.
For the higher levels, they could utilize the wind to even tear through space.
Of course, that had many restrictions and conditions to do so, but it was possible.
Regardless, Lia continued to channel her magic, forming a giant fiery javelin before wrapping it with as much wind magic as she could muster.
Some of the wind was applied to the tail, using it to accelerate the projectile, while some was wrapped around the tip to lower the amount of air drag.
Once she was satisfied by her creation, she grinned and opened her eyes.
And while she was forming her magic attack...
"Jaq, make a trap! I will bring him to it!" Claire shouted loudly when she saw the purple rogue inching closer to them.
"Alright!" Jaq yelled back, changing her directions and heading towards a twin tower that was still strangely standing tall.
There was a wide distance between the two, ample for the minotaur to walk between them without any issue.
Her brain’s gears churned and a smirk appeared on her lips. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
Quickly getting to work, she infused her metallic wire with mana, running up the height of four meters using the walls, she grabbed onto a window’s ledge and hung on it.
She tied one end of the string on the window, giving it firm tugs and making sure that the string was fixated.
Then she easily slid on the wall, running to the other tower before tying another knot at the same height.
That height insured that when running under the string, she and Claire wouldn’t be hit, but if the minotaur tried to run in, his neck would get wounded.
"CLAIREEE!" She screamed at the top of her lungs, causing Claire to pause mid dash, before changing the direction and running towards the twin towers.
And like a big mean cat after a small mouse, the minotaur lowered his head and rammed through the buildings like a mad man.
He didn’t care how many buildings or structures stood in the way of his target, as he only cared about the fact that he wanted to crush her under his foot.
For the last 3 minutes, she was making him run around like a headless monkey, smashing buildings without a single gain.
She was slipperier than a literal eel!
However, unluckily for Claire, there was no cover on the entrance of the twin tower, making her curse out, "DID YOU NOT FIND A BETTER PLACE TO BUILD A TRAP?!"
"Bitch your stamina is at an all time low! If I took too long, you would’ve become a blood pancake! We all know that’s a fucking minotaur delicacy!" Jaq shot back standing on top of her string with her rogue skill activated.
And since she was standing still, her camouflage worked its magic flawlessly and the minotaur was unable to detect her.
He was too dumb to judge her location with just the sound anyway, especially when the blonde human was still in his eyesight.
Claire cursed louder at the retort, her breath heaving as she leaned lower and began to run faster.
When the minotaur saw that, he rushed after her with an increased amount of fervor, smoke huffing out of his nostrils.
Aaron, Eva and the injured Katie, all three watched with bated breaths as Jaq began to channel all her mana through the string to make it strong enough to slice the beast’s hide.
In the distance, Lia had finished preparing her magic projectile and finally opened her eyes, instantly recognizing the unusual location of the minotaur.
She knew that if Claire was risking herself by running in the open, there could only be two possibilities.
Either she went mad and wanted to die, or that Jaq had built a trap.
And knowing Claire, it was obviously the second and thus, Lia refrained from firing the projectile, lest she end up ruining the trap and cause more harm than good.
"I am going to skin you alive if the trap doesn’t work!" Claire wheezed out, sweat dripping down her forehead as she ran under the string, looking up and noticing Jaq standing with an easygoing smirk on her lips.
"Fuck off." She said, jumping off the string at the last moment when the minotaur rammed into the string...
