My Life In A Fantasy, Women-Dominated World-Chapter 117: Diamond And Coal
When Aaron looked back at his teammates, his body slightly soiled by the greenish blood, he froze.
Their disbelief was obvious, no matter how much they tried to hide it, it showed.
It was the first time they saw a man so strong, after all, and they knew that he was actually a low level raider, which made the scene even more outrageous.
However he wasn’t stunned about their disbelief, it was an expected outcome, but rather... what he saw floating in the distance.
A small drone, a black coloured floating piece of metal with four propellers, stationary in the air with its camera lens pointing at Aaron.
Under the light of a setting sun, the glassy lens glinted, sticking out like a sore thumb.
"Claire." Aaron said in a low, serious tone, making Claire snap out of her daze and look in the direction he was looking at.
The moment her eyes landed on the drone, aura erupted out of her, translucent mana pulsing as she glared at it.
In an instant, a sword appeared in her grasp and without any reservations, she launched an aura blade at the drone!
But the drone controller was no newbie, with the amount of distance between the aura blade and the drone, it barrelrolled out of the crescent arc, buzzing in the air as it continued to keep its camera pointed at Claire’s team.
Rest of the teammates swallowed their excitement and curiosity as well, their eyes narrowed and spells forming within their bodies as Lia and Eva launched smaller mana projectiles at the drone causing it to retreat higher in the sky while avoiding the spells.
Before anyone could do a thing, the drone continued to retreat, turning around and speeding away out of their sight by maneuvering through the shattered landscape.
"What the fuck was that?!" Aaron asked in shock.
He felt worried and rightfully so, he was a man and here he was showing such power out in the open. He knew that he should’ve been more caref–
"A paparazzi drone." Claire answered, causing his thought process to pause, "Probably from the government or a personal reporting crew. Both are bad."
Eva sighed deeply, "Aaron, with me. In the car."
Without even waiting for his reply, she grabbed his hand and pulled him towards herself, leading him towards the black sedan that belonged to Claire.
Claire didn’t seem to mind, as she looked at her other teammates, "Gals, let’s take a break for now. I doubt it’s going to be as serious, but just don’t tell anyone anything for now."
Jaq was still looking in the direction the drone had disappeared to, "I think I can still catch up to it. Maybe we can find out where it was from?"
Lia shook her head, "There’s no point. The recording is probably already with them. We just need to spin the story in a way in which it would uhh... make sense."
Katie deadpanned, "Make sense? A man kil- no, slaughtered an entire horde of level 20 goblins and you want it to make sense?"
Lia sighed, "Why not? There exist some. Exceptions are always there. That’s a basic law of life."
And true enough, Eva was telling him the same thing in the car, asking him to pretend that he was a much higher levelled raider than he actually was.
That was the only way to debunk the accusations in case there were any.
It was a very rare that some prodigies are born in male community, capable of rising to power despite their unfair disadvantages.
Some had the assistance of supreme classes, some had the assistance of titles, like Aaron does.
But what all of them had in common was that they were famous.
Hella famous.
Higher than the level of celebrities.
What’s rare is what’s precious and that worked quite well in the idol and raiding community.
And right now, Aaron’s battle footage was recorded unknown to him, showing off his strength.
Eva told him that he should already prepare himself to get the videos leaked, but he was in luck, since he was only hunting level 20-25 small goblins.
He did it overbearingly and one-sidedly, but the fact of the matter was that his opponents were weak as well.
"Are there gonna be any repercussions due to it?" Aaron asked in flat tone, his jolly mood ruined.
"Obviously." Eva didn’t pull back on her punches either, shaking her head, "I wouldn’t have pulled you here if there weren’t."
Aaron leaned forward, listening to her with full attention.
"First off, you’re gonna be famous. That’s not always a good thing but it’s not that big of a bad thing either. But second off, many guilds are going to try to recruit you.
Some of them have egos as big as their asses, if you deny one, others might just build enmity with you due to it.
And if you deny all, maybe all will become your enemies, so yeah..." Eva sighed, "And thirdly, well, the amount of attention. You’re going to be under everyone’s crosshairs."
Aaron frowned, "It’s that big of a deal?"
Eva shook her head, "Yes. The rarer something is, the more expensive it gets. How much does a diamond cost?"
"A lot." Aaron hummed, nodding in understanding.
"And a piece of coal?" Eva smiled wryly, "They aren’t the same thing but you get my point. Men have half the exp gains, nearly negligible magic gains, their connection to mana is rocky at best, now you tell me, won’t you be excited if someone is very strong despite those odds?"
Aaron grumbled, "Yes I get it, then how were you all so calm when you all found out?"
"Sweetheart, I wasn’t calm. I couldn’t sleep for days, mostly because you also confessed but that’s another matter.
And as for the teammates, they didn’t know your magic and strength was so high. They just assumed you were higher than average and had the talent to assist them in hunts using your reverse senses."
"Haah... what now then?"
