My Mage System (BL)-Chapter 712: *Is that it ?*
Chapter 712: *Is that it ?*
Ian smiled warmly at him and suddenly said a bit awkwardly, "As for our duel, my King... I just want to measure my strength against you. I have no desire to take your place; I already have my own responsibilities in my native world."
Roman then laughed heartily and said, "I am also eager to measure myself against you! I have never heard Isaac praise someone so highly; you must truly be very gifted to have captured the attention of the Warrior Spirits."
Elias then declared, sensing that the earlier tension had transformed into a wave of excitement, "If everyone has gathered to witness this battle, then let the fight begin! We can get to know each other afterward, and we will also share what we have all been through recently. What do you say, Roman?"
Roman immediately replied, stepping back slightly to transform into a Drakonit, "With pleasure!"
Elias signaled for everyone to step back to make room for them and said to Ian before joining the others, "Remember, use all your powers and give it your all! It is your chance to impress them all!"
Ian nodded, determined to prove his worth to all these Drakonits, and he remained composed when he saw that it was the Knight of Darkness himself who would serve as their referee.
Elias must have had a good reason for not intervening right away, so he intended to do what he was there for and fight with all his strength to earn the respect of this King and hopefully convince these Drakonits to join them in the upcoming war!
Suddenly, he heard Liam’s wolf growling in discontent through their telepathic link, and he reassured him, telling him, "I’m not going to fight against this Knight of Darkness, so relax, my little wolf."
He added, transforming himself into a simple Drakonit to begin with, "Roman’s soul hasn’t been corrupted by this Drakonit, even though they seem very close to each other. That proves Roman is undoubtedly a good person. So don’t worry; everything will be fine."
Liam then said, still a little frustrated, "I will keep my promise and not intervene in this fight, but be careful. There are corrupted souls among the soldiers all around the arena, and some are hidden in the crowd. I really hope everything will go smoothly."
Ian reassured him one last time, saying that with Elias here, nothing serious could happen anyway.
He then noticed Roman’s frown as the countdown to start the battle came to an end. Roman said to him, a little disappointed, "Is that it? Boy, let me tell you, that kind of power won’t be enough to challenge me!"
Ian then smiled confidently at him and replied, "Do not worry, my King. This is just the beginning!"
After that, Ian’s smile vanished, and he activated his superior demon bloodline. Roman, who hadn’t expected anything like this, widened his eyes as he watched Ian transform into a Divine Drakonit.
But Ian’s transformation was different from theirs. For two weeks now, he and the older Drakonits had suddenly begun to evolve into Divine Drakonits, granting them a whole new power as well as an enhanced mastery of the black particles.
It had become easier for them to use the Evil Divine element, and their energy reserves, stats, regeneration abilities, and resistance to magical attacks had all greatly improved.
However, according to Isaac, Ian was still just a baby to them; he was not even thirty, while most of those who had naturally evolved into divine beings were over 10,000 years old.
Moreover, even though their wings, horns, and tails had grown larger and more robust, their color had not changed, remaining as inky black as before, whereas Ian was different from them.
The parts of his body unique to his Drakonit side had turned blood red, and their size was greater than that of most of his evolved warriors, nearly matching his own.
As for his power, if Ian had existed 10,000 years earlier, he would undoubtedly never have become the King of the Drakonits.
However, this kind of power still did not pose a threat to the Drakonit he had become.
As Elias and Miguel had instructed them back then, he and his Drakonits had continued to train tirelessly so that if their freedom were ever threatened again, they could fight and eliminate that threat by themselves.
And that was exactly what they had done in recent days when demons, Drakonits, and other creatures under Lilith’s command had attempted to annihilate them. Despite some losses on their side, they had held firm and ultimately pushed back that threat.
Roman then smiled and said to Ian, "This fight is going to be more interesting than expected!"
He then said loudly, "My brothers in arms and dear guests, please leave the combat arena!"
He added, with a wink at Elias, "Elias, my old friend, if you could reinforce our force field to ensure that our attacks do not harm any innocents, I would be truly grateful."
Elias smiled at him, and after everyone had left the arena, he snapped his fingers, and the force field that had been barely perceptible to the naked eye was now covered with a golden veil. Roman’s smile widened as he felt its new power.
Now he was confident that he could fight without risking harming his own people. So he transformed into a Divine Drakonit in turn, and a scimitar appeared in each of his hands.
This duel was not, of course, a fight to the death, but each of them could use any weapons they wanted, and the goal of this duel was truly to exploit all their powers and create a battle that all the Drakonits present would remember even in 10,000 years.
Ian also summoned a legendary-grade short sword in each of his hands, which Connor had just forged for him.
The metal used was the same as that of Mykael’s favorite swords, and thus their blades were a magnificent turquoise blue color.
