"Lu, are you and Yiyi coming home for dinner tonight?" came Ye Wanli’s loving voice from the other end.

Ye Lu was taken aback, immediately sensing something was not right. Anxiously, she asked, "Dad, didn’t you pick up Yiyi?"

"Pick up Yiyi? No, when did you ask me to pick her up? I didn’t receive a call!"

Ye Lu’s face turned pale, her lips white with terror. "What’s going on?" she said hurriedly. "I have to hang up now and call Yiyi."

She ended the call, her fingers trembling as she dialed Ye Yi’s number.

But the phone was switched off. Ye Lu swayed on her feet, her heart stopping with extreme panic.

What has happened? It’s already been four hours since she left the hotel. How could Yiyi not have returned? Even if the clever little girl didn’t call her father, she should have taken a taxi back by herself!

But so much time had passed. Where could the little girl have gone?

The more Ye Lu thought about it, the more terrified she became. Her heart clenched in fear. What if something had happened to Yiyi, or worse, she was kidnapped by human traffickers? Her baby was so beautiful and adorable.

Tears of panic fell one after another.

It was all her fault. How could she just abandon her child? She’s a total jerk.

If something happened to Yiyi, she would never forgive herself.

Feeling helpless, Ye Lu quickly called Ye Wanli back to inform him about what happened.

Ye Wanli was also extremely alarmed, but he tried to calm her down, promising to send people out to find her immediately. If that failed, they would report to the police.
