Huyan Wudi couldn't help swearing, "You're really too cunning! How could you even come up with such a rotten idea!"

"The idea is a bit rotten, but it's very effective," Chen Feiyang said, shamelessly proud and with a face as thick as they come.

Huyan Wudi nodded, "From now on, you'll be my strategist, plotting on my behalf. I won't treat you unfairly."

"It's my honor to strategize for Sect Leader Huyan," Chen Feiyang said with a smug smile.

Chen Feiyang was about to speak when Huyan Wudi held him back.

"You didn't agree to my proposal, so I had to find another way," Huyan Wudi weighed the treasures in his hand. "The men are already killed, and the treasures are now in my hands. I'm about to deal with those black bugs now. Are you going to stop me?" At this point, Huyan Wudi added another sentence, "You want to avenge the three dead?"

"You..." Gao Fei frowned; he had no relation to the three dead men and no obligation to avenge them.

Seeing Gao Fei's hesitation, Huyan Wudi smiled. As he and Chen Feiyang had guessed, killing them and creating a fait accompli meant that Gao Fei had no choice; he would definitely not fall out with them over three dead people—it wasn't worth it.

"What about you guys? Do you want to avenge them?" Huyan Wudi turned to look at the others, "I admit, my actions were a bit despicable, but I did it for everyone's sake. With these three treasures, we can take care of those black bugs. Once the bugs are gone, we can enter the independent space. So tell me, isn't that right?"

The group looked at each other, none speaking. Their silence was an agreement.

"Everybody disperse, don't delay me from dealing with the black bugs," Huyan Wudi said.

There was a second of hesitation before everyone dispersed.

"You made the right choice! Follow me, and you won't suffer any loss!" Huyan Wudi gave a triumphant laugh as he took the three treasures and walked toward the palace. As he turned around, he glanced at Gao Fei with disdain and mockery in his eyes, which almost triggered Gao Fei to lash out.

"I knew it! Those two huddling together definitely had no good intentions!" Gao Fei scoffed. He had seen Chen Feiyang and Huyan Wudi talking together earlier and knew they were up to no good; now he was proven right.

Chen Feiyang gave Huyan Wudi a thumbs up, admiringly saying, "Sect Leader Huyan acts decisively! I'm impressed! Utterly impressed!"

"It's mostly thanks to your idea," Huyan Wudi said in a good mood, as he had gotten the treasures. "Cover me. I'll deal with those black bugs now. The simultaneous self-destruction of the three treasures should severely damage them."

"Wait!"

The shout came from behind them.

Huyan Wudi stopped and turned, looking at Gao Fei, "What is it?"

"The power of the treasures' self-destruction is huge. It could very well collapse the palace and possibly destroy the entrance to the independent space. Have you thought about these things?" Gao Fei huffed.

"Uh?" Huyan Wudi was taken aback, he hadn't considered that. After a brief pause, "Now that things have come to this, I can only take a gamble. If we win, everyone's happy. If we lose... we'll have to return empty-handed." After saying that, Huyan Wudi resolutely turned and walked towards the palace.

Everyone watched with bated breath.

Success or failure hinged on this one action!

"Boom!!!"

Three earth-shattering noises came from the palace, and the ground shook a few times.

A mood of disappointment spread among the crowd, souring everyone's spirits.

"Let's go up for now, staying here is pointless," someone suggested. "After we go up, we can slowly figure it out." This proposal was unanimously agreed upon by everyone.

And so, everyone returned to the surface.

A crescent moon hung in the sky, surrounded by stars twinkling with light.

A group of people sat together, discussing how to deal with the black insects. They discussed over and over but couldn't come up with a solid plan.

"Are we just going to slink back in defeat?" Huyan Wudi said, huffing with frustration. "I really can't accept this."

"What can you do if you can't accept it?" Gao Fei quipped with a sneer. "We won't be able to enter the independent space if we can't eliminate those insects."

"As the saying goes, there's a counter for everything, and these black insects definitely have a bane!"
