My Supernatural Girlfriends Spoils Me Rotten-Chapter 387: Closer Part 1
The vast space that had once been filled with panic now stood still.
Everyone stared, stunned, at the serpent coiled tightly around the giant creature.
Each squeeze shattered pieces of the Astral Beast's shell, releasing corrosive waves that spiraled into space.
Trax floated in space, eyes locked on the battle. He had seen a lot in his life, but nothing came close to two planet-sized beings clashing .
The huge black serpent didn't just look powerful—it was ancient, like it had existed since time began.
'Black scales that swallowed sunlight. Orange, slitted eyes that made others feel like prey...'
A name popped into his head.
Jormungandr. The World Eater.
A being missing for countless years finally resurfaced after all this time. Because it stayed hidden for so long, it wasn't listed as an official SSS+ Rank.
However--
No one could deny it now.
Even without a title, it stood on the same level as the other peak existence in the universe.
CLANK!
The giant sword began to move, catching everyone's attention.
Someone whispered over the comms.
"That's… that's Angeline."
Everyone knew the name—The Divine Seeker.
A true SSS+ Rank and one of the ancient rulers of the universe.
She ruled over true heaven, standing at the top, unrivaled in both power and beauty.
Seeing her now in the flesh, the title of the most beautiful woman in the universe didn't seem enough.
She wasn't just beautiful—she was flawless. Every part of her, from her eyes to the way she stood, felt unreal. Like she didn't belong to this entire plane of existence.
Perfect. Untouched. Beyond compare.
Light from the gate washed over her face, making her presence even harder to ignore.
She lifted one hand, and the chains around the giant sword snapped one by one, unable to hold against the weapon's strength.
The Astral Beast wailed again...
Angeline's acted right away.
"DIVINE RETRIBUTION!
The sword broke free and flew straight forward.
Sensing the threat, the Astral Beast let out a deafening wail.
Wild Aether energy burst out from its pores, pulsing in fierce green waves.
The pressure forced Jormungandr to loosen its grip just enough—just enough for one of the beast's massive tendrils to lash out like a whip.
BOOOM!
It struck the serpent's head with bone-crushing force, sending a jolt through its immense body.
At the same time, other tendrils shot forward, wrapping around the glowing sword's blade, stopping its advance.
BOOOM!
Another explosion erupted as both sides battled for momentum.
The collision of power unleashed a shockwave that radiated outward, carrying deadly radiation.
Anyone too close vaporized instantly, their bodies breaking into particles. Not even an S Rank could survive this battle even as spectators.
Only those smart enough, like Trax, to keep their distance lived.
Jormungandr's scales blazed hot, sparks flying as it fought against the radiation .
Meanwhile, the giant sword, pushed forward by Angeline's will, glowed fiercely, refusing to be stopped.
It shone brighter, releasing waves of divine energy that fought against the green aura.
But the Astral Beast was no ordinary creature.
With a sudden twist, it swung the sword aside, throwing it off course.
At the same time, it yanked the black serpent hard, throwing Jormungandr aside.
Jormungandr, recovering quickly from the beast's actions, coiled its massive body back into position. It lunged forward, aiming to restrain the beast again.
As for the golden sword, it shattered into tens of billions of glowing shards that scattered toward the Astral Beast.
Each shard triggered golden explosions on impact.
For a moment, it seemed the colossal creature was cornered.
But then it unleashed a swarm of small, flying squids that intercepted the glowing shards.
Both attacks exploded on contact .
BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOM!
The battle raged on, the fight far from over.
Jormungandr hissed and unleashed a deadly black gas from its mouth.
The toxic cloud spread quickly, thick and deadly, killing almost anything caught inside within seconds.
Flying squids swirled through the gas, but many slowed, their movements faltering as the poison took hold.
One by one, they fell, dissolving into nothingness under the gas's lethal effect. They didn't even manage to explode before fading away.
The gas cut a path through the swarm, giving Angeline space to push forward and speed up her attacks. She focused the shards on the creature's vital spot—its mouth.
Each blast ripped through layers of flesh and armor, leaving glowing scars across its body.
The creature still fought stubbornly, firing beam after beam of green light.
Angeline's golden barrier blocked every attack. Unlike Asher's hexagonal shield, her spell formed a giant cross and was much stronger.
When the beast paused to recharge, the angel seized the chance to bombard it again, not letting it rest or catch a break.
Her top priority now was to take it down as fast as possible.
Voices buzzed through the comms of the motherships.
"Look, they're winning!" one shouted.
"Finally, the tide is turning," another added.
"They're pushing the beast back!"
Everyone watching this battle felt sure the two Rankers would win.
Then, without warning, it did something no one expected. Its body began to vibrate violently, energy crackling across its surface.
ZZZZZZZZ!
Slowly, it tore open a swirling wormhole, a dark tear in space just big enough to slip through.
Angeline and Jormungandr reacted.
The giant serpent bit down hard on one of the tendrils, trying to hold it back.
At the same time, Angeline summoned massive golden chains, wrapping around four more tendrils to trap the creature.
But the beast was one step ahead. It deliberately severed its own tendrils to break free and rushed toward the wormhole.
BOOOOM!
The severed limbs exploded, erupting in a blast like a miniature supernova.
Deadly radiation slammed into the two, forcing them to cast their own barriers to minimized damaged.
By the time the light fade, the wormhole was already gone—along with their target.
Jormungandr morphed back into his human form, and appeared beside Angeline.
"Should we chase it? I left one of my fangs in its skin—we can track it down if we move now,"
She shook hear head "There's no need for that , by now that beast was already on the Astral plane, it would be stronger there, so we wont be able to kill it with just the two of us,:"
Jormungandr's face darkened. He knew the Astral Plane well since he was trapped there for thousands of years.
Without her aid, he would still be hiding like a cornered rat in that godforsaken place.
If there was one thing he gained from it, it was reaching SSS+ rank thanks to the abundant energy in that place.
It was also why his transformation was much bigger than others of his race.
The energy from the Astral Plane affected the size of any being exposed to it for a long time.
While it could be an advantage in battles like this, it was a drawback in the Astral Plane because it made him a bigger target.
"So what happens now?" he asked, his voice filled with respect and admiration for her. Not just because she saved him, but because of her unmatched beauty.
He was also extremely handsome, but in her presence, he was easily overshadowed—not that he minded.
Just being this close to her made him happy.
"Things will get more complicated now that everyone knows you've reached SSS+ rank. The other rulers won't like the balance of power tipping in my favor."
His face turned serious, and offered a bold suggestion. We should show the other rulers we're on the same side and put pressure on them."
"How? I was hoping we could use the Astral Beast to show our dominance, but we failed."
He hovered closer and grabbed her hand. "Let's get married. If we do, we'll become the most powerful duo in the universe."
Jörmungandr expected her to say yes. After all, who could be a better husband than him? A peak existence.
"I can't marry you, and I won't."
"Angeline! Why are you so against it? Are you already in love with someone else? Who?"
He could count the number of men worthy of her heart, and none were as handsome or as devoted as him.
Angeline paused, her eyes showing hint of longing.
A man had once captured her heart—he wasn't strong or powerful, but she still fell for him all the same.
Unfortunately, when her father found her, she was taken away and held captive in heaven, unable to see him.
Countless years passed before she finally learned he died in a war.
Heartbroken, she used a forbidden spell to bring his soul back and let it reincarnate.
She waited thousands of years until he appeared again. She was filled with joy.
Finally, she could have him back. They could be together once more.
This time, she wouldn't let anyone tear them apart again.
But fate was cruel.
Just as she was close to claiming him, a series of incidents unfolded.
His soul, meant to return to her, was sent to the void.
She wasted countless resources trying to bring him back, only to fail again and again.
Eventually, she lost all trace of him, severing their connection completely.
Angeline knew the chances of him still being alive were slim, but a part of her refused to let go—hoping that one day, he would return and remember her...
His first love. His first lover.
The woman who waited and gave up everything just to be with him.
The daughter who even killed her own father to steal the one item that could pull him from the void.
She did everything for him.
'I miss you....'
She closed her eyes and placed a hand over her heart. For a reason she couldn't explain, it felt like he was near.
