Richard hadnβt looked at his stats in detail for a long time. π§πππππ«π·π€πΏππ‘.ππ€πΆ
Today, he reflected while staring at them.
He thought that entering the Sea River might not be a bad choice.
After all, not all kinds of power were important to him.
Many of them he never even used.
Among his elements, he only truly favored fire, lightning, wave, and void.
The rest didnβt interest him much.
The same went for his Codexes and Arcane Arts.
If some increased while others disappeared, it wouldnβt be too bad. He would become much stronger.
More importantly, he couldnβt keep relying on the System. The problem was that the System had stopped increasing his attributes after reaching certain thresholds. It might even stop completely in a few days unless his realm advanced.
Plus, after losing some abilities, he could always acquire new onesβand the System would enhance those as well.
The Fire Spirit Queen watched him as he thought.
She was a little surprised that he had been considering this for so long.
If this opportunity were hers, she wouldnβt hesitate.
βMaybe this is for the best,β Richard concluded.
"By the way, Queen, is there any danger in entering the Sea River?" Richard asked.
"The remnants of souls from those who died there may attack. However, they are not that strong. Even the strongest are only comparable to Rulers. There are just too many of them. I can destroy them with my flames. The real danger is from other peopleβif many discover the Sea River," the Fire Spirit Queen replied.
"Alright then, help me," Richard said, preferring the easy path.
"Go ahead!" the Fire Spirit Queen gestured for him to lead.
He stepped onto the river, landing on its surface without sinking.
Then he walked forward.
As he moved, everything began to feel like an illusion.
In a short time, the trees along the riverbank vanished, revealing a much wider river with slightly yellowish water.
Richard felt that if he were weaker, this wouldnβt have happened.
He continued forward.
The river didnβt widen further, but beside it, he saw a chaotic sea filled with storms and hurricanes.
The rain was torrential, and the waves were so high he couldnβt see their end.
Even so, none of it touched the river.
It remained calm.
But soon, the hairs on Richardβs body stood on end as he felt a chilling wind.
From beneath the river, figures of light emergedβsome white, some red, some black. Their forms varied: some like giants, others as small as a finger.
Though they had no eyes or voices, Richard could feel their resentment and fury.
Some immediately rushed toward him.
Whoosh!
Flames appeared and incinerated themβbut more kept coming.
Without a doubt, they had a source.
Richard didnβt think he could pass through them easily.
Fortunately, the Fire Spirit Queen burned every one that approached.
Still, some didnβt vanish instantly, forcing her to act directly.
"Richard, aheadβgo!" the Fire Spirit Queen urged.
Ahead was a massive gate, separating this river from another.
Beyond it was a river filled with giant stones, with water filling the entire space.
Without hesitation, Richard leapt through the gate.
Buzz!
The gate turned dark, making it impossible to see the other side.
"Damn it, who went in?!" A loud roar echoed, enough to make the Fire Spirit Queen pale.
A massive figure wielding a golden hammer appeared behind herβits eyes like twin suns.
Moments later, the old man with the sword appeared beside it, looking tiny in comparison.
"How did the Sea River appear in the Land of Humans?" A White Roc also arrived.
It was none other than the White Ancestor.
After him, even a handsome young man with orange hair appeared.
At the slightest fluctuation of something unusual, it was impossible to escape their detection.
They could trace the source instantly and appear there.
More figures arrivedβsome late due to distance, from the Central Region or elsewhere in the Land of Humans.
Very few matched the first four, but dozens were on the level of the Fire Spirit Queen.
"Who went in?" someone wondered aloud.
The Fire Spirit Queen was largely ignored.
Among those present, there was no shortage of survivors from the struggle over the World Magic Aether. Many were olderβand thus stronger.
One of them then used spatial power.
Strangely, time seemed to reverse.
Though it was only an illusion, it revealed Richardβs figure before entering the gate.
"So itβs that bratβhahaha..." the White Ancestor burst into laughter.
"I have nothing to worry about now."
He left just like that.
"So heβs the so-called prodigy?"
"Who else?"
"It seems this era will belong to him."
"Letβs go. Thereβs no point staying. In the previous era, everyone tried to break in after the Demon Flame Grand Sovereign enteredβbut none succeeded."
"Right. One era, one person. It will disappear again."
"By the way, is it true that one day inside equals seven years outside?"
"Thatβs what the Demon Flame Grand Sovereign said. We waited seven years, but he claimed he was only inside for one day."
Hearing that, the Fire Spirit Queen was shocked.
Even she had just learned this.
She had thought the Demon Flame Grand Sovereign spent seven years inside due to his drastic transformation.
Unfortunately, when he came out, they immediately foughtβand she nearly died, only to awaken in this era.
"Others may grow stronger in seven years, but a Ruler wonβt improve much in that time. Itβs hard to match what can be achieved with the Sea River."
"Exactly. Back then, his rivals advanced drasticallyβPeak Rulers became as strong as First-Stage Ancient Sovereigns. But the Demon Flame Grand Sovereign immediately reached near the peak of the Second Stage."
"But why is there such a drastic difference in time?"
"No idea... My guess is that time in the Sea River is the true time. Itβs our worldβs time thatβs somehow accelerated."
