My Three Beautiful Vampire Wives can hear my Inner Thoughts-Chapter 139: Scheming Old Rabbit
Cain’s eyes moved quietly across the battlefield.
His body was still locked in combat with the bear king, yet his gaze traveled past the violent exchange of blows and landed on the distant hill where the old rabbit stood.
Even from far away Cain could feel the old creature watching him carefully.
He also noticed the Naga leader beside the rabbit, coiled with tension yet refusing to move forward.
Cain’s lips curved slightly.
"So that’s how it is," he murmured inside his mind.
They were waiting.
They wanted to see more.
They wanted him to expose everything.
The Devouring Blood Tree swayed behind him like a living tower of bone and flesh. The roots continued to dig deeper into the earth while the trapped bodies in its bark slowly lost the last of their life.
Cain’s red eyes glowed faintly.
They want to confirm my strength.
They want the tree to grow more before stepping in.
He could almost feel the calculations forming in the old rabbit’s mind.
Cain let out a quiet breath.
"Fine."
"If you want a show."
"Then I’ll give you one."
The bear king roared and swung his massive axe again.
The weapon carried the weight of mountains. The air itself screamed as the blade tore through it.
Cain raised his arm to block.
BOOM!
The impact blasted a crater into the ground.
Dust rose everywhere.
The bear king grinned widely.
"HAHA!"
"Finally slowing down, blood creature?"
Cain allowed his body to stagger backward.
His wings trembled slightly.
The bear king’s eyes shone with excitement.
"There it is!"
"You are getting tired!"
Cain coughed lightly and wiped a bit of blood from the corner of his mouth.
Of course the blood was fake.
But the performance was convincing.
He glanced at the Devouring Blood Tree behind him and slapped the trunk with his palm.
The tree trembled violently as if weakened.
Several roots cracked loudly.
The bear warriors watching from behind began cheering.
"THE TREE IS WEAKENING!"
"ATTACK!"
The bear king laughed wildly and charged again.
His axe slammed into Cain’s chest.
The sound echoed like metal striking metal.
Cain’s body flew backward and smashed into the roots of the blood tree.
Several branches broke.
The ground shook.
Cain slowly stood up again while breathing heavily.
Inside his mind he almost laughed.
Tickles.
The attacks felt no stronger than light taps on his skin.
But he continued acting as if each strike was painful.
More dust clouds rose from the horizon.
New armies were arriving.
The first group was made of tall horned warriors whose skin looked like dark stone. Their eyes glowed green and they carried massive iron clubs.
Behind them marched hundreds of smaller soldiers.
Another group came from the opposite direction.
These creatures had bird like heads and wide wings that flapped heavily as they descended from the sky. Their claws were sharp enough to rip through steel.
A third army arrived soon after.
These were wolf men with grey fur and glowing yellow eyes.
Their howls filled the air.
The battlefield suddenly became crowded.
The bear king raised his axe proudly.
"Everyone!"
"Destroy that tree!"
The armies rushed forward.
Cain leaned against the trunk and let out a tired laugh.
"You all want this tree that badly?"
The horned leader stepped forward.
"Yes."
"That thing is gathering too much life energy."
The wolf leader snarled.
"It must die."
The bird warriors screeched loudly and dove toward the branches.
Cain slowly closed his eyes.
Perfect.
He let several attacks land.
Claws tore through his coat.
Clubs smashed against his shoulders.
The bear king struck him again with full force.
Cain staggered and fell to one knee.
The Devouring Blood Tree groaned as dozens of enemies began climbing onto its roots and hacking at its trunk.
Pieces of bark fell away.
Some branches cracked.
The wolf soldiers bit into the roots.
The horned warriors smashed them with clubs.
The bear king raised his axe for another blow.
But at that moment Cain opened his eyes.
The red light inside them was no longer dim.
It burned like two rising suns.
"Enough."
The word rolled across the battlefield like thunder.
The ground beneath everyone’s feet trembled.
A deep sound came from underground.
Then the earth split open.
A massive river of blood burst from the cracks in the ground.
It rushed outward like a violent flood.
The soldiers froze.
"What... what is that?!"
The river spread rapidly.
It surrounded the armies in every direction.
The blood moved like a living sea.
The wolf soldiers tried to jump away.
But their feet sank into the liquid surface.
One wolf warrior screamed.
"I CAN’T MOVE!"
His legs slowly disappeared into the river.
The horned soldiers swung their clubs wildly.
The weapons passed through the blood but did nothing.
The river pulled them down.
Their bodies sank deeper and deeper.
The bird warriors tried to fly.
But crimson chains burst out from the river and wrapped around their wings.
They crashed into the ground.
The bear king stared in disbelief.
"What is happening?!"
Cain slowly stood up.
His wings spread wide behind him.
The river of blood obeyed his will.
It swallowed soldiers by the hundreds.
Their screams filled the air as they sank into the endless crimson sea.
The bear king swung his axe in panic.
"GET OUT!"
But his feet were already sinking.
He looked down in horror as the blood climbed up his legs.
"No..."
"NO!"
He glared at Cain desperately.
"What are you doing to us?!"
Cain looked at him calmly.
"You came to feed my tree."
The bear king struggled with all his strength.
The muscles in his arms bulged as he tried to climb out of the river.
But the blood wrapped around him like countless hands pulling him downward.
His chest began sinking.
His breathing grew ragged.
"What is this power...?"
"Why can’t we fight back?!"
The river dragged him lower.
Soon only his head remained above the surface.
His voice trembled with despair.
"What are you...?"
Cain smiled faintly.
Then the bear king disappeared beneath the blood.
The river continued moving across the battlefield.
It devoured every remaining soldier.
Within minutes the once massive armies had vanished.
The blood slowly flowed back toward the Devouring Blood Tree.
The roots drank deeply.
The trunk expanded again.
More faces appeared within the bark.
More bodies became part of the living structure.
But the battle was not over.
New pressure suddenly filled the sky.
Another group of powerful figures arrived.
This time their auras were far stronger.
Each one carried the presence of an Emperor realm powerhouse.
One was a towering lion warrior with golden fur and burning eyes.
Another was a giant mantis creature with blades instead of arms.
A third was a tall deer like humanoid wrapped in glowing vines.
Behind them marched thousands of soldiers.
The lion emperor stepped forward slowly.
"So this is the monster causing chaos here."
Cain looked at them with interest.
"You came too."
The mantis emperor clicked his blades together.
"We will end you."
Cain chuckled softly.
"Try."
The river of blood surged again.
But this time the new emperors reacted quickly.
The mantis emperor leaped high into the air and slashed the river apart with his blade arms.
The lion emperor roared and released a wave of golden fire that pushed the blood back.
The deer emperor raised his hands and summoned thick vines from the ground to block the advancing flood.
For a moment it looked like they could resist.
The lion emperor charged toward Cain.
Their clash exploded like thunder.
Fists.
Claws.
Blood blades.
Golden flames.
The battle shook the land.
Yet Cain’s smile never disappeared.
The mantis emperor joined the fight next.
His blade arms flashed like lightning.
But every attack was blocked or redirected by flowing blood shields.
Soon the river expanded again.
It swallowed their armies easily.
The emperors fought desperately but the battlefield itself had become Cain’s domain.
One by one they were dragged down.
The lion emperor roared in anger as the blood climbed his body.
"This is impossible!"
The mantis emperor tried to cut his way free but the river simply reformed around him.
The deer emperor attempted to escape through the sky.
But blood wings caught him and pulled him down.
Soon they too disappeared beneath the crimson sea.
More groups arrived after that.
One army of crocodile warriors.
Another of stone giants.
Another of insect queens leading swarms of soldiers.
Each group included at least one Emperor realm leader.
Each one died the same way.
The Devouring Blood Tree grew larger with every battle.
Time passed slowly.
The sky darkened.
The ground was covered with thick red mist.
Cain continued fighting for what felt like hours.
More emperors appeared.
More armies marched in.
But none of them survived.
Eventually Cain began noticing something strange.
He looked toward the horizon while crushing the skull of another Emperor warrior.
"Hmm."
He wiped blood from his hand.
"The numbers are changing."
For a long time powerful enemies had been arriving constantly.
But now the arrivals were growing fewer.
The emperors who appeared also stopped coming close to the tree.
They fought from a distance before retreating.
Cain narrowed his eyes.
"This is different."
Another Emperor died beneath the river.
Cain floated above the battlefield and looked outward across the wasteland.
His voice echoed softly.
"These new emperors..."
"They are not entering my territory."
Far away on the rocky hill the old rabbit slowly lowered his hand.
His eyes remained calm.
The Naga leader beside him swallowed nervously.
"Your plan worked?"
The old rabbit nodded slightly.
"We only needed to confirm something."
He looked toward Cain.
"And now we know."
At that moment Cain turned his head.
His red gaze landed directly on the distant hill.
Even from miles away his voice carried clearly across the land.
"You scheming old rabbit."
