My Three Beautiful Vampire Wives can hear my Inner Thoughts-Chapter 148: Backup
Back in the plane where the Moonshade family was sent to..
The sky of the isolated plane remained dark and heavy.
The land stretched endlessly beneath a cold moon that never moved. Black forests stood silent. Rivers of mist crawled slowly across the ground like pale ghosts wandering through forgotten lands.
Yet in the center of that quiet world, chaos still raged.
A glowing sphere floated above the cracked ground like a floating prison made of pale blue light. Its surface rippled constantly as violent impacts struck it again and again.
Inside the sphere stood the sorcerer.
His robes were torn.
Blood ran from the corner of his mouth.
One eye was swollen and half closed.
His breathing came in harsh bursts as he forced more mana into the barrier surrounding him.
Outside the shield, the Blood Owl attacked relentlessly.
The creature was enormous. Its wings stretched wider than the branches of ancient trees. Its feathers were dark crimson like dried blood, and every time it flapped its wings the air trembled with violent power.
The owl screamed as it dove toward the sorcerer again.
BOOM.
Its talons slammed against the glowing barrier.
The entire sphere shook violently.
Cracks of light rippled across its surface.
Inside the barrier the sorcerer staggered backward.
He clenched his teeth and forced more energy into the shield.
"Damn beast!" he spat.
The owl rose into the sky again before folding its wings and diving once more.
BOOM.
Another violent impact struck the barrier.
The sorcerer fell to one knee as the force traveled through the shield and into his body.
Blood sprayed from his lips.
His hands trembled while maintaining the magic circle beneath his feet.
"Not yet..." he whispered.
The owl screeched again.
Its crimson eyes burned with predatory hunger as it rose higher into the dark sky before diving again.
BOOM.
The barrier flashed brighter.
The sorcerer slammed his palm against the ground as he struggled to keep the shield from collapsing.
His entire body ached.
Bruises covered his arms.
Several of his ribs were cracked.
But the owl showed no mercy.
Again and again it struck the barrier like a falling mountain.
BOOM.
BOOM.
BOOM.
Each impact sent violent waves through the sphere.
The sorcerer’s vision blurred as blood dripped down his chin.
Yet he forced himself to stand.
His voice came out hoarse and furious.
"I’m not going to die here!"
His hands suddenly moved in a complicated pattern.
Golden light gathered between his fingers.
A magic circle began forming in the air.
Lines of glowing symbols twisted together as the spell took shape.
"This is my chance," he muttered.
But the moment the circle reached half completion—
The Blood Owl screamed.
It dove straight down again.
The sorcerer’s eyes widened.
"Damn it!"
BOOM.
The owl’s talons struck the barrier with brutal force.
The half formed magic circle shattered instantly.
The sorcerer slammed against the inside of the shield and crashed to the ground.
His breath left his lungs in a painful burst.
He coughed violently.
Blood splattered across the glowing floor of the barrier.
The owl rose into the sky again.
The sorcerer pushed himself up slowly, trembling with exhaustion.
"Again..." he whispered bitterly.
The owl circled high above him.
Its wings beat heavily through the dark sky.
The sorcerer wiped blood from his face and stared upward.
That beast was relentless.
Every time he tried casting the spell, the owl interrupted him before the magic could finish.
But then...
He noticed something.
The owl had flown higher this time.
Its wings moved slower for a moment.
The creature paused in the sky before diving again.
The sorcerer’s eyes widened slightly.
"Ah..."
A faint smile appeared on his bruised face.
"So you get tired too."
The owl screamed again as it began another dive attack.
But this time the sorcerer was ready.
The moment the owl pulled upward to prepare its next dive—
He moved.
Golden light exploded from his hands.
A massive magic circle appeared beneath his feet.
Lines of glowing symbols rotated rapidly.
"Yes," the sorcerer whispered with desperate excitement.
"This is the timing."
The spell began forming rapidly.
But he was not alone.
Outside the barrier, the vampires of the Moonshade Family were watching carefully.
Rivik’s eyes narrowed.
He had seen the sorcerer begin forming the magic circle.
"Ancestor Ghurn!" Rivik shouted.
The old vampire beside him immediately understood.
"That spell..."
Several other vampires gathered nearby.
They could not break the sorcerer’s barrier.
They had tried earlier.
Their blood magic simply slid across its surface without leaving a mark.
Ancestor Ghurn growled.
"We cannot break it."
Rivik clenched his fists.
"No."
His eyes locked onto the forming magic circle.
"But we can move him."
The other vampires turned toward him.
"What do you mean?"
Rivik pointed toward the barrier.
"His spell needs focus."
"If we push him even a little, the spell will break."
Ancestor Ghurn’s eyes lit up.
"Of course."
Rivik raised his hand.
"Everyone!"
The surrounding vampires looked toward him.
"Focus on sending blood spells toward him!"
One younger vampire frowned.
"But we cannot hurt him through that barrier!"
Rivik shook his head.
"You do not need to hurt him!"
"Just move him!"
His voice rose with urgency.
"Even a small push will interrupt the spell!"
The vampires immediately understood.
Dozens of crimson magic circles appeared in the air.
Blood magic gathered rapidly.
Inside the barrier, the sorcerer felt the pressure outside.
His eyes widened with alarm.
"No...!"
The first wave of blood magic struck the barrier.
BOOM.
The shield trembled.
The sorcerer nearly lost his balance.
"Stop it!" he shouted.
Another wave hit the barrier.
BOOM.
The force pushed him backward half a step.
The forming magic circle flickered dangerously.
The sorcerer screamed in frustration.
"You insects!"
He forced more mana into the spell.
Golden light brightened.
But then—
The Blood Owl returned.
The massive creature dove from the sky like a falling star.
The sorcerer looked up in horror.
"Not now!"
BOOM.
The owl struck the barrier again.
The shield shook violently.
The sorcerer’s body slammed against the inner wall.
Outside the barrier, the vampires continued attacking.
"Push him!" Rivik shouted.
"Do not stop!"
Blood magic rained down again and again.
Each impact made the barrier vibrate.
Each vibration disturbed the sorcerer’s concentration.
Inside the shield the sorcerer’s hands trembled while maintaining the magic circle.
"Damn you... damn you all!"
The owl attacked again.
BOOM.
The barrier flashed bright blue.
The sorcerer stumbled.
The magic circle flickered wildly.
Sweat and blood ran down his face.
His breathing became frantic.
He tried forcing the spell forward while ignoring the chaos outside.
But the attacks continued.
The vampires shouted as they launched spell after spell.
The owl screamed while slamming its talons against the shield.
BOOM.
BOOM.
BOOM.
The barrier shook endlessly.
The sorcerer felt panic creeping into his chest.
His spell was almost ready.
Almost.
But if they pushed him one more time—
The spell would collapse.
"No... no..."
His voice trembled.
Then suddenly his expression hardened.
A wild grin spread across his blood covered face.
"I will not fail!"
Golden light exploded around him.
The magic circle grew larger.
The symbols rotated faster.
The vampires outside realized something was wrong.
Rivik shouted urgently.
"Faster!"
The blood spells intensified.
The owl dove again.
BOOM.
The barrier shook violently.
But the magic circle did not collapse.
The sorcerer laughed.
A broken and desperate laugh.
"Yes...!"
The final symbol appeared in the center of the circle.
Golden light shot upward into the sky.
The spell was complete.
The sorcerer raised both arms.
His voice echoed across the battlefield.
"Finally!"
His grin widened.
"A reinforcement!"
