My Three Beautiful Vampire Wives can hear my Inner Thoughts-Chapter 78: Furious Sevette
A sharp scream tore through the corridor outside the ancestral hall.
It was not a normal shout.
It was shrill, furious, filled with humiliation and rage that had not yet found a place to land.
The sound cut through the thick air like a blade.
Cain and Cornelia snapped back to reality at the same time.
The world rushed in again.
The torches flickered.
The murmurs of the nobles returned.
The warmth between them vanished as though someone had poured cold water over their heads.
Cornelia’s face flushed deep red, the color spreading from her cheeks to the tips of her ears.
Cain felt heat rise up his own neck.
He pulled his head back abruptly, eyes widening slightly.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!
His thoughts spiraled wildly.
I almost kissed her! I almost did! Damn it!
His heart pounded against his ribs, heavy and loud.
The blood pact would have gotten stronger if I did. Damn it! Damn this shit! Damn it all!
He could almost feel the subtle thread that bound their blood humming faintly, as though it had been waiting for that final step.
Idiot. Absolute idiot.
He forced himself to look at her.
And instantly regretted it.
Why is she getting more and more beautiful?
Her eyes were still slightly dazed, her lips parted faintly, her breath warm against his skin. Her long curls framed her pale face in a way that made her look both innocent and dangerously alluring.
No. No.
Did I just compliment her?
No.
No!
I have to look away.
I have to look away or I won’t control myself again.
He tried to turn his head, but his body felt stiff for a moment, as if something inside him resisted the idea of distancing himself from her.
The scream from outside came again, louder this time, filled with raw fury.
That shock finally gave him the strength to pull back properly.
Cornelia felt every chaotic thought echo in her mind.
She heard his curses.
She heard his panic.
She heard that single, accidental compliment.
Her lips twitched slightly.
She wanted to tease him.
She wanted to whisper that she heard everything.
But she did not.
Instead, she pouted faintly and turned her gaze toward the massive doors as well.
They were still in each other’s arms.
That realization hit Cain a second later.
He quickly loosened his grip, stepping back awkwardly.
Sweat beaded faintly on his forehead despite the cold air of the hall.
Calm down. Calm down. Calm Down... Calm it down you son of a bitch!
Another scream echoed.
The heavy doors at the entrance of the ancestral hall trembled.
Then—
They slammed open.
Sevette stormed in.
The moment she crossed the threshold, the entire hall fell silent.
The Blood Ancestors straightened slightly.
The nobles froze mid whisper.
Sevette stood there, chest rising and falling rapidly, her fists clenched so tightly that her nails dug into her palms.
Her long hair was slightly disheveled. Her expression twisted between anger and disbelief.
She was panting.
Not from exhaustion.
From rage.
The silence in the hall stretched.
No one moved.
No one dared interrupt.
Her presence was like a spark thrown into a room filled with dry leaves.
Then suddenly—
"CORNE—"
Her scream exploded from her throat.
The first half of the name burst out like a cannon.
The shockwave of her voice rippled through the hall, stirring the torches and sending loose fabric fluttering violently.
"—LIAAAAA!"
The second half tore through the chamber with such force that the wind generated from it made several younger vampires stumble.
Cloaks snapped in the air.
Sleeves fluttered wildly.
A few decorative banners along the walls were ripped free from their hooks and thrown sideways.
The sheer force of her scream made even some of the nobles blink in surprise.
Sevette’s crimson eyes burned bright, almost glowing.
"How dare you use blood pressure on me!" she shrieked.
"How dare you!"
Her voice cracked at the end, trembling between fury and wounded pride.
Then something strange happened.
Her eyes flickered.
The intense blood red dimmed.
Her fangs retracted slightly as if her rage had suddenly collided with confusion.
She blinked.
Her gaze swept the hall.
And finally registered what stood before her.
The ten Blood Ancestors.
Outside their coffins.
All staring at her.
Her mouth fell open slightly.
"Bald... vampires..."
Her voice softened in disbelief.
"Ancestors?"
She looked around, her fury momentarily derailed by shock.
"Why are you all outside your coffins, ancestors?"
The silence felt suffocating.
Then her eyes landed on Cornelia.
Everything came rushing back.
Her face twisted again.
She pointed accusingly.
"CORNELIA!"
Her voice cracked again, this time heavy with indignation.
She stepped forward and grabbed her own collar as if steadying herself.
"Cornelia took my military token!" she shouted.
"Give it back! Give it!!"
Murmurs rippled across the hall.
One of the Blood Ancestors narrowed his eyes.
"Explain."
Sevette’s chest heaved.
"Ancestors, you must give me justice!" she cried, her voice trembling as she dropped to one knee dramatically.
"I trained so hard!"
Her words poured out rapidly now, like a dam that had broken. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
"You all know how long I trained! Since childhood I have been preparing for this! I woke before dawn to practice combat forms! I endured blood infusion rituals until my veins felt like they were burning from the inside! I mastered blood illusion magic to the highest degree in my generation!"
Her voice shook, but she did not stop.
"I fought against beasts in the outer territories! I sharpened my control over blood threads until I could manipulate five illusions at once! I studied tactics! I studied formation breaking! I studied suppression techniques!"
She clenched her fists tighter.
"My mana mastery is higher than hers! I already reached the peak twelfth stage of Blood Infusion Realm! I pushed my body to its limits!"
Her breathing became uneven.
"I bled for it!"
Her eyes watered slightly, though she refused to let tears fall.
"I suffered for it!"
Her voice dropped, raw and bitter.
"And in the end..."
She looked up at Cornelia with pure resentment.
"She used a cheating technique!"
The hall stirred.
"She used blood pressure against me!"
She spat the words as if they were poison.
"It should be impossible!"
Her voice rose again.
"Impossible!"
"I am more talented than her! I am stronger than her! I trained more than her! I mastered my mana better than her!"
Her voice echoed against the stone walls.
"Yet she defeated me with blood pressure!"
"That is not normal!"
"That cannot happen!"
She looked desperately toward the ancestors.
"Ancestors, I will not accept it! I will not accept losing like that!"
Silence followed her outburst.
A long, heavy silence.
Then—
A small giggle.
Soft at first.
Almost accidental.
Sevette blinked.
Another giggle followed.
Then another.
Within seconds, the murmurs began to twist into suppressed laughter.
"What did she just say?"
"More talented than Cornelia?"
"Did I hear that correctly?"
"I must be hallucinating."
A few nobles covered their mouths, shoulders shaking.
"Blood pressure is cheating?"
"Since when?"
"With her lineage alone I don’t dare question her but this girl..."
"And she’s complaining about blood pressure..."
Laughter grew louder.
"More talented?"
"Ahahaha!"
"Peak twelfth stage?"
"And she thought that was impressive?"
The sound spread like wildfire.
Some vampires leaned against pillars, laughing openly.
Others slapped their thighs in amusement.
Even a few of the Blood Ancestors allowed faint smiles to appear at the corners of their lips.
Sevette looked around, confusion slowly replacing anger.
"Why... why are you laughing?"
Her voice sounded smaller now.
The laughter intensified.
"What did she say?"
"She said she’s more talented!"
"Hahaha!"
"More talented than Madam Cornelia?!"
"I cannot breathe!"
"Someone hold me!"
Sevette’s face flushed red.
Her hands trembled.
"I asked—"
Her voice cracked again.
"Why are you all laughing?"
The laughter only grew louder.
Some vampires wiped tears from their eyes.
One even wheezed, struggling to compose himself.
Sevette’s eyes darted from face to face.
None of them looked sympathetic.
None of them looked supportive.
They looked at her like she was a joke.
Her heart dropped.
The weight of the room shifted.
For the first time since she entered, she felt it.
She did not belong in this moment.
She did not understand it.
She felt small.
Unwelcome.
Her fists clenched again, but this time not from anger.
From something closer to humiliation.
She raised her voice once more, desperation bleeding through.
"I said," She paused, "WHY ARE YOU ALL LAUGHING AT ME?!"
