My Ultimate OP System: Summoning All Dragons, Gods, Heroes & Villains-Chapter 43: Date Night Prep: Airship Style
Back at the manor, Ethan had just stepped down the stairs looking sharp in a properly tailored three-piece suit.
The moment Francesca saw him, she gasped and clasped her hands together. "Oh, Master Ethan! You look absolutely wonderful!"
Eduardo gave a moderate nod of approval with a smile on his face. "Very presentable, Master Ethan."
Valerie also couldn’t deny that Ethan looked exceptionally clean in that suit. For a moment, her eyes lingered just a bit longer than necessary before she quickly turned away.
Francesca walked over and adjusted his collar slightly, even though it didn’t need adjusting. "Good luck tonight," she said with a warm smile.
"Thanks, Francesca," Ethan replied.
Eduardo gestured toward the entrance. "Shall we, Master Ethan?"
Ethan nodded, and the both of them walked together toward the back of the estate, where the airship was now ready for departure.
In the last three hours or so, Eduardo had made incredibly quick arrangements, starting the moment it was agreed they’d go with the airship date idea.
In fact, it was probably the quickest arrangement he’d ever pulled off given the amount of time he had to work with.
First, he’d been able to quickly call up a magi-engineer for hire to pilot the ship. The man was reliable and discreet, perfect for the occasion.
Then, Eduardo had called up Bernard Chevalier, the owner of La Couronne d’Or, one of the fanciest restaurants in Grayfort City. He bought out their entire kitchen crew for the night. Of course, there was an extra additional payment involved, a generous one at that. This was truly what made Bernard agree to let his restaurant be closed that entire evening.
Thankfully, the restaurant’s location was only a fifteen-minute drive from the manor, so the crew came with everything needed for the setup.
They set tables up within the ship’s main deck, decorated with fine linens, candles, and elegant tableware.
Those assigned to cook headed below deck, where there was enough space to accommodate the chefs, ready to prepare anything on the menu at a moment’s notice.
When Ethan arrived at the ship and saw how ready everything was, including the standing waiters positioned at attention and the beautifully arranged dining area, he sighed for a moment.
He had to admit to himself that this might’ve been a little too much.
Well, he had told Isabella he would do it in style, and this was nothing short of that. So he figured this was just fine.
Ethan turned toward Eduardo. "Did you text the contact I gave you with the right location for this?"
Eduardo nodded. "Yes, Master Ethan. And she also sent a reply that said, ’See you soon.’"
"I see," Ethan said, nodding and smiling a bit.
Eduardo then added, "Oh, one more thing, Master Ethan."
He reached into his coat pocket and brought out a brand-new Arcphone which he handed to Ethan. "Everything has been set up. Your contacts, your accounts, all of it."
Ethan took the device and nodded. "Thank you, Eduardo."
Then he turned and walked into the ship.
Eduardo raised his hand in a small wave and Ethan nodded back in acknowledgment.
With that, the magi-engineer began powering up the SS Celeste.
The engines hummed to life, and the propellers began spinning smoothly. The airship lifted gently off the ground, rising slowly and steadily until it cleared the manor’s compound and drifted into the evening sky.
——
A vintage car rode up to a dockyard and came to a smooth stop. Then its door opened, and from it stepped Isabella.
She was breathtaking.
Her hair was styled up in an updo, adorned with flowers. Her elegant black and gold dress hugged her figure perfectly, leaving some nicely rounded cleavage. While a deep green outer robe draped over her shoulders, lined with a pale fur trim
Ethan stood right beside the parked car, and the moment he saw her, he was stunned.
He couldn’t take his eyes off her for a moment. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Isabella stepped forward slowly, with her expression moving from curiosity to confusion as she looked around.
"Ethan?" she began. "Why did the location you sent bring me to an airship dockyard?"
Ethan cleared his throat, finally managing to pull himself together. "I know this might seem weird, but I need you to trust and come with me."
He extended his hand toward her.
Isabella glanced back at the driver, then turned to him and said, "It’s okay. You can go."
The driver nodded and drove off.
She turned back to Ethan, still looking a bit shocked, then gently placed her hand in his.
They walked together, and a short few paces later, they reached the grounded airship, SS Celeste.
Ethan guided her up the boarding ramp, and the instant Isabella stepped onto the deck, her eyes widened.
The entire scene before her was like something out of a dream. The dining tables, covered in fine white linens.
Waiters standing at attention and dressed impeccably. The soft instrumental music playing from somewhere below deck, and drifting up through the open spaces.
"Ethan..." Isabella whispered. "This is..."
"Too much?" Ethan asked with a sheepish grin.
She turned to him, still in shock. "I was going to say incredible."
Ethan smiled and gestured toward the table. "Come. Sit."
They walked over together and took their seats at a corner table positioned near the edge of the deck, giving them a clear view of the sky and the city below.
The magi-engineer piloting the ship glanced over at Ethan, who gave him a subtle nod.
Ethan then turned to Isabella. "You might want to hold onto something for just a second."
Isabella reached out and placed her hand on his on the table
The airship’s engines hummed again, and the vessel began to lift off the ground. It rose gently, smoothly, without any jarring movements. Within moments, they were airborne once more.
Isabella’s grip on his tightened a bit, but not out of fear. It was more out of awe.
"We’re going to do this on a moving airship?," she asked, with a pleased smile on her face.
"Yeah," Ethan nodded, smiling too.
The next thing they knew, they were gliding above Grayfort City.
