My Vampire Life With My Beautiful Vampire Wives-Chapter 50: In the name of the Father
Nile watches as the only person who ever treated him kindly is consumed by the flames.
The heat hits his face; the smell of burning flesh turns his stomach, and yet he cannot look away.
His small, fragile world collapses before his eyes.
Why did it have to be her?
Why is it that whenever someone shows him kindness, he ends up being destroyed?
Can’t he have even a moment of happiness?
The air crackles, and amid the sound of the fire, echoes of the past return.
The white walls of the laboratory. The cold lights. The metallic smell of blood and disinfectants.
His mother, dressed in a stained robe, looked at him with disgust, as if his every breath were an offense. "You’re a damn mistake. A plague. Because of you, I’m going to die, you damn monster!"
And his father... He didn’t yell. He just looked at him with tired eyes, full of sadness.
"Son... forgive me for bringing you into this world. For condemning you to bear my misfortune. Someone like you shouldn’t have to suffer like this."
After that, only needles, cold, and loneliness remained.
Until he met Laura.
She wasn’t afraid of him.
She smiled at him, even when she saw him do things that anyone else would have considered horrible.
She fed him, cared for him, hugged him.
And in the end, even with the fire consuming her, she looked at him and asked him to run.
His throat tightens; he feels tears burning his eyes.
Is he really a bringer of misfortune?
Does his very existence destroy those around him?
Is he a demon?
Or just a child who was never allowed to be anything else?
All these questions swirl around in his mind.
But in the midst of this confusion, something ignites. Something deep. Something dark.
The firelight reflects in his eyes, and his breathing becomes heavy.
This time, he won’t run away.
Not again.
Laura protected him, accepted him.
Now, he will avenge her.
If the world insists on calling him a monster...
Then he will become one.
...
The black-haired hunter watches as the woman, corrupted by the devil, is purified by the sacred fires of his lord.
Suddenly, he turns around, noticing that something in the air is beginning to change; a slight bloody pressure catches his attention.
To see, the demon child slowly changes his ears; they begin to lengthen as if they were those of an elf, and a pair of bat wings made of pure dark water appear, as if they were stagnant.
"So you finally show your true colors, demon," he said, as he disappeared in a golden flash.
Nilo, who doesn’t know what he has become, follows him with his gaze and also moves at high speed, leaving only a residual image behind.
"Hahaha! As expected of a demon, it moves quite fast." The hunter Pelinegro attacked it with his silver whip.
A barrier of dark water blocks it; the squeaking sound of evaporating water can be heard in the air.
Blub, blurp! Blub, blurp!
Nilo creates a water barrier and attacks with ferocity, intent on tearing his enemy to pieces. The black-haired hunter swings his whip with mastery, moving across the grass, dodging and counterattacking.
"ROOOAAH!!!" Nilo lunges with a roar, creating a large ball of water, and throws it as he moves away from the attack.
The black-haired hunter takes a Bible from his belt, which opens by itself to a specific verse, and says, "The LORD will protect me from all evil; He will guard my soul. The LORD will guard my going out and my coming in from now on and forever."
Suddenly, two giant hands of golden energy emerge from the sky, descending like divine guardians.
They envelop the hunter in a radiant embrace.
He smiles a calm, confident, almost sweet smile.
Nilo senses the change in the air, but it’s too late.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
The collision is brutal.
The dark ball of water hits the golden hands, generating an explosion that tears up the ground, raises a column of dust, and creates a shockwave so strong that several trees are uprooted as if they were weeds.
Shortly after, the dust disperses, and the black-haired hunter remains completely intact in the middle of the crater.
But Nilo doesn’t stop.
The monster child appears in front of him in a flash, moving so fast that it leaves behind a blurred trail of its own figure.
The hunter tilts his head slightly.
"Impressive."
Nilo strikes with the intention of smashing his skull.
The hunter responds calmly.
Clack!
The whip coils around Nilo’s arm, tightening like a silver snake. Golden energy runs through the whip and into the boy’s liquid flesh, making him scream in pain.
"GRRRR... AAAHHHH!"
"Too predictable," muttered the hunter.
With a precise movement, he pulls him.
Whoosh!
Nilo is lifted off the ground as if he weighs nothing and is thrown against a nearby tree.
The trunk splits in two from the impact.
Wooden fragments fly like projectiles.
Nilo falls to the ground amid the debris, blood dripping from his mouth. Even so, he staggers to his feet, his eyes once again shining with that savage fury that hunters fear so much.
The black-haired hunter holds the whip with one hand, relaxed, almost amused: "Come on, demon. You can still put on a good show for me."
The battle between the two continues to unfold throughout the park, producing a range of explosions with each of their clashes. Still, the difference between them was apparent, especially in terms of experience.
Nilo was like a beast driven solely by instinct, while the hunter was much more controlled in his movements.
The hunter delivers a powerful kick to Nilo’s stomach, sending him flying.
Boooom!
"Puaj...," Nilo spits out a mouthful of blood and gets back up; he launches himself into the attack again, even though he’s not thinking straight. All he can think about is revenge for the kind woman who treated him with affection.
"HAHAHAHA! As expected of a demon, you’re quite resilient!" The black-haired hunter begins to rapidly swing his whip, which is covered in golden energy and whistles through the air.
Shuwisp! Shuwisp! Shuwisp!
The black-haired hunter stops whipping his whip.
The air, which was previously charged with tension, now remains static... as if the world were holding its breath.
He raises a hand.
His companions, hidden in the shadows of the fallen trees, tense up like arrows ready to be shot.
"Now!"
The word falls like a sentence.
Nilo, now transformed into a creature of pure rage, lunges at him with the speed of a projectile... but doesn’t even get halfway there.
CLANG, CHRRRSH!
Golden chains materialize from the ground, the air. They cross the space like snakes of divine light and wrap around his torso, arms, and legs.
The contact is instantaneous.
And so does the pain.
SSSSSSHHHHHHH!
The dark water that forms his body boils and sizzles under the golden energy. The flesh that still retains that mutated form burns red-hot.
Nilo roars. Not like a child. Not like a human. But like a monster.
"ROOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!"
His scream echoes through the trees, making the ground shake.
Nilo pulls on the chains with all his strength; every muscle, every drop of dark water, every killer instinct kicks in as he desperately tries to break them.
But for every chain that tightens... two more appear.
"No... no... no!" His mind is a whirlwind of rage and pain. ’He should have killed them... at least one... one!’ But the golden energy crushes him as if he were an animal chained for sacrifice.
Then something else happens.
Several of the hunters hold out their open Bibles toward him.
The pages begin to detach themselves, as if torn by an invisible wind. They float in the air, spinning, shining...
And they stick to Nilo’s body like sacred seals.
One, two, ten, twenty...
Each page burns like holy fire against his skin.
SSSSSHHHHHHH!
"AAAHHHHHHHH!" The pain shoots through his entire body, piercing his eyes, throat, and chest. Nilo writhes, furious, desperate, as the pages immobilize him as if they were bandages made of incandescent light.
But even so... even so, he doesn’t stop fighting.
His water claws strike the ground—his wings flap.
But the chains suddenly tighten, forcing him to his knees.
The black-haired hunter steps forward.
His shadow falls over the child like that of an executioner, illuminating him with a false golden sun.
His voice sounds devout with a touch of madness. "Demon... enemy of all human life... today you will be eradicated from the face of the earth." He raises the hand holding the Bible.
The wind blows. The leaves burn without burning.
The silence becomes absolute.
"In the name of the Father."
The silver whip glitters.
"Of the Son."
The air vibrates.
The ground trembles.
"Of the Holy Spirit."
The whip disappears for an instant.
Only a line of light remains, tracing a perfect arc through the air.
"Amen."
And then...
SHUWIIIIIIIISP!
The sound cuts the park in two.
An explosion of golden light illuminates the night.
The shadows break.
The earth opens up.
And Nilo...
BOOOOOOOM!!!!
