My Wife and I Became Sages in Another World-Chapter 450: The World’s Support
Chapter 450: The World’s Support
A few days after the war inside G’Henna’s castle started, every nation in the world was able to watch the broadcast that was being recorded by Sage Louie’s spell.
Louie had developed the spell to cast it during the war in the Northern Empire and show proof to everyone around the world that it was demons who had been behind their misfortune.
At first, the mages at the tower weren’t sure if they should reveal the truth to the world, afraid that others would use that information for evil deeds.
One solution was to only broadcast the battle to the rulers of each country. However, Ichiro convinced the mages that everyone had a right to know the truth, so Louie ended up giving several magic crystals to all the nations.
When Louie joined the fight, he cast his magic to "attach" a small flying crystal to different individuals, making them fly away in an instant until they reached their target.
Each tiny crystal was able to record the surroundings of the person it was attached to, and when Louie raised his arm forward, lots of virtual-looking interface screens popped up before him, showing the different scenes they recorded.
One of the crystals was attached to Ichiro, who was leading the team on the highest floors, while others were linked to the forces of each country and their leaders.
Every moderately large city in the world had a crystal that produced a giant screen showing the events of the war without any broadcast delay, so there was no way for Sage Louie to censor an image before people could see it.
At the Sephyr Kingdom, a sea of people were gathered in front of the king’s castle, watching the broadcast from one of the giant screens produced by Louie’s spell.
Still, not only the citizens at the capital could watch it, as the same type of "broadcasting crystal" had been placed in the city halls of each town, including "End Town," where the villagers seemed the most nervous when watching Ichiro’s perspective.
Over 90% of the elves gathered in their own capital to watch the war live, cheering for their soldiers and the sages who had been their allies all that time.
The dwarves at Durinhold stopped all the work they were doing to gather in the center of Rockvalley and watch the broadcast whilst holding a large festival with food and drinks.
On the Western continent, even the beastkin living in Safehaven had received a broadcasting crystal, and all of their citizens gathered in the market to watch the giant screen.
The whole world was watching. People prayed and rooted for the sages and the soldiers to defeat the devils, and by the time Ichiro’s group fought over a hundred giant primal demons, the spectators were in awe of their powers.
For a random villager living an ordinary life, the scenes that were shown on the screen were utterly surreal—Hundreds of giant demons wandering around a city that looked way too advanced for their world, and two young sages who could take down several of them with one spell.
While the world watched Ichiro’s group fighting against the 256 demons on the 89th floor, the Demon King, Xalathas, sat on the throne in the 99th level.
Beside Xalathas, Agares and Drakzen stood tall with smirks on their faces, sensing that Ichiro was slowly getting closer to their location, and they seemed excited at the prospect of their encounter.
"Hmm, it seems like he obtained the gem..." Xalathas muttered, holding his head with boredom.
"Even so, I doubt we can take it from him," Drakzen replied, explaining that Ichiro had a ’void pocket’ spell that allowed him to store infinite items inside, and if they killed him, the gem would stay lost forever.
"Void pocket, huh?" Xalathas hummed to himself, lazily raising his hand and moving his index finger with a circling motion.
After a brief moment of silence, a small black portal materialized in front of Xalathas’ hand, and Drakzen seemed a little shocked that the king was able to reproduce such a spell without having any references.
"That should be no problem..." Xalathas continued, explaining that he could now corrupt other void pockets and take everything inside, so killing Ichiro was still their main priority.
Agares chuckled and mentioned how the encounter would be more interesting now that everyone was fighting to kill, and Drakzen agreed but still warned Agares not to underestimate the sages.
"If the sages make it here, then stick to the plan..." Xalathas said in his deep voice.
"I refuse. This encounter looks like it’s going to be fun!" Agares refuted, and the two other demons were impervious to his words.
Agares was an ancient Primordial Demon, so he didn’t have to follow the orders of a Demon King if he didn’t feel like it.
Xalathas only summoned Agares to the world because he knew that he would be an overwhelming force against the sages, but that didn’t mean that Agares worked for him. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
Most Primordial Demons were known for being stronger than the Demon Kings, but their lack of ambition prevented them from ruling over other demons in hell.
While Xalathas and Drakzen had different contingency plans to ensure their victory, Agares simply wanted to see what the sages were capable of, so he didn’t feel like following the king’s plan.
Still, it didn’t matter what Agares’ intentions were since Xalathas knew that his presence there was enough to cause more trouble for the sages, which worked in his favor.
"What about the rest of their forces?" Drakzen asked.
"Irrelevant..." Xalathas replied, comparing them to ants walking across a battlefield.
"Heh, well then. I’ll go greet my friend," Drakzen continued, politely bowing to his king and leaving the room.
After Drakzen left, Agares approached the king and wondered when they would summon ’that thing,’ prompting Xalathas to stand up from the throne and glare at the portal in the center of the room.
"Not quite yet..." The Demon King replied, almost whispering his answer.
