My Wife is a Dead Villainess, and I'm Her Living Weapon-Chapter 125: Enslave
Chapter 125: Enslave
Bianca felt the air turn acrid. The crowds around the battle zone were noisy. Many cheering, some in awe at the spectacle. All of them using phones of all sorts to fulfill the quests she and Elian handed out.
What should have been an event that sparked panic and fear instead appeared to be some sort of show. The invaders fell out of the portal like globs of pus. Each bubble contained a monster bent on killing Bianca’s lover.
I won’t let any of you touch him, she vowed in her mind.
Virexar was a planet of insects. And while the Red Ants came from there, that didn’t mean they were all the world had to offer. But while Bianca was trying to gauge their enemy, the rest of the humans were...chaotic.
"HOLY CRAP! ARE YOU SEEING THIS? THAT’S JUST INSANE!"
"In a feat of extraordinary valor, Elian Reed transformed into a golem and..."
"It seems that the Weapons of Valestra use the metal wolves as vanguards while..."
"Make sure to get a good shot, bro! The quest says the video needs at least 30 seconds."
"OMG OMG! Did you see that chat? I ain’t never seen anything like this!"
Fools.
The witch couldn’t help but chuckle. She always thought that humans were cowardly, opportunistic, and greedy. Yet that all changed after she met her lover.
Bianca watched as the Flame Swallows burned everything in sight. She couldn’t even piece together what was coming out. Only the smell of burning meat wafted through the air. More and more invaders came through the portal, but no one could even see them.
She clenched the rifle in her hands, eager to join in. But as the overall commander, she had to keep calm. Each group was given its task. And Bianca’s was to serve as the entire faction’s contingency plan.
No. I have to wait. Elian is there. I should be patient. I am our lifeline.
Bianca’s firepower was severely reduced as it was nighttime. But Elian prepared a trump card for her that she could use only once. Thus, she had to make it count.
The Flame Swallows assaulted the Virexar invaders as they appeared. Many died in the opening moments. But then one monster did not burn when a Flame Swallow exploded on it. Instead. It shook its head and advanced.
More detonations fell on it. But like Ned, the figure stepped out of the fire and smoke, unfazed. As the light of the moon finally exposed itself, a crab-like monster appeared.
"We have visual confirmation! The Virexar invaders are some manner of Crustaceans. Most of which are as big as a car," a local report exclaimed.
There were thousands of cameras, drones, and long-range satellites concentrated in this spot. Bianca switched among them to get the perfect view of the battlefield. She used her nanomachines to zoom in on the invaders and clicked her tongue.
"Tsk. I guess believing we could just bomb them into victory was naïve."
Despite the immense firepower of the Flame Swallows, more and more crabs appeared. They looked like red crabs that had no pincers but had spider legs. Like armored tanks, they inched forward as they were bombarded mercilessly.
Tsk. Such a waste.
As Bianca observed, the spider crabs then began to foam at the mouth and vomit a large bubble. The bubble grew at immense speeds and began to shield those behind them. They shot out webs to the ground. And began creating walls of foam.
"Tsk, I have to do something," she worried.
Exiting the feed from her nanomachines, Bianca looked at the battlefield and gasped. In the short time that she watched, new enemies took to the skies.
"What in the world? Are those flying shrimp?"
Engaging the Swallows in the air were swarms of shrimp. They had thin, long wings like dragonflies and two large claws similar to crabs. Though they looked hideous, they flew incredibly fast, like honeybees. Too fast for the Swallows to catch.
The flying shrimp claws ran around and led the swallows to pursue them, but as they were faster, the Weapons suddenly turned helpless. Adept at dogfighting, the flying shrimp began spitting spines at the avian nukes following them.
One after another, the birds began to fall without being able to meet the fire. Bianca’s jaw clenched. Apart from the Flame Swallows, they did not have anything for air targets. Neither she nor Elian were able to prepare countermeasures.
I had thought invasions were supposed to have only one species! Why does this one have so many?
But before Bianca could decide on how to act, she saw something incredible.
Thin, long spears flew into the air like arrows and impaled the shrimp dead.
The archers? Over a hundred metal wolves lined up that had two large crossbows jutting out of their sides. Like anti-aircraft guns, they fired spear after spear with incredible speed and accuracy.
Leading them was Bianca’s wolf sister.
"Remember! Use the Dominator for the string, then give the command to increase in weight 5 seconds to the shaft after you fire. Make sure the homing order on the tip doesn’t get overridden."
Fufu, Fluffy is adapting to Elian’s methods.
"As you can see, a third of the wolves suddenly created mini arbalests that somehow follow their targets. I don’t know what to tell you folks; none of this makes a lick of sense," one of the live streamers confessed.
With timely help from Fluffy’s unit, the Flame Swallows began to reclaim the skies. The people watching screamed each time one of the Shrimps got impaled by three to four giant lances of steel.
On the ground, a large group of ten-meter wolves attacked crabs. Leading them was Bastion, who towered over the crabs like a giant among men. Like bullies, they bit, threw, and stomped on the smaller armored crabs into paste.
"Dude! Are you seeing this? My scans say that crab thing was A-Ranked! It even had an S rating for STR! These metal doggos are just straight-up ripping them to pieces like tissue paper."
Bianca felt pride welling up from her soul. In a pure contest of power, few could match the reborn Bastion. Even Elian was hard-pressed to do so.
Dad’s taste for combat is still a bit too primal.
If Fluffy’s unit were those that shaped objects for combat, the Wolves led by Bianca’s father only used size and raw power. They devoted themselves to having bodies as big as Alpha’s and fought like armored bears.
Using nothing but their massive bulk and claws, they trashed the crabs. Their exoskeletons cracked and shattered with nothing but sheer force.
More and more species came from the portal. The new arrivals came in enormous waves. Like an avalanche of bubbles, they flowed out of the portal. The bubbles they rode on popped and out came all sorts of creatures.
Small spiders that had crab pincers, floating jellyfish that had long tentacles made of water, and humanoid lobster people. Each more grotesque than the last.
"CHAT! Did you see those things? Like, ick! What the hell are they?"
They moved fast but failed to even join the battle. Primarily because they all died before being able to do so.
Amidst the shadows, four-legged figures sliced the small crabs open. The jellyfish that had what looked like floating cores were impaled and dissolved into water. The humanoids were beheaded and cut down, unable to see what attacked them.
But Bianca could.
And the crowd could, too.
It was the final batch of Metal Wolves led by her mother. Like ninjas, they sliced, stabbed, and ran off. Like a gash of swords, they butchered anything they came across. As they didn’t waste time on hard or flying targets, they rampaged uncontested.
Silent’s group was so intimidating, the crowds turned silent. How could they not? The humanoids were the size of people. And they all died like grass.
"Those things are on our side, right?"
"I think so? I really hope so."
Sigh, Elian. Your little play is working as expected.
Elian gave only one instruction for all of them.
Demonstrate how ruthless their faction was.
Where is Elian?
Bianca scouted the battlefield and found her answer. Elian was crouched in front of a large spider crab that had half of its body blown apart. His contribution was quite lackluster compared to everyone else.
A few of the streamers even began to complain.
"Dude, filming the Tyrant is a waste of time! What is he even doing?"
"Yo, he charged one time and has been praying since. What the heck?"
But the onlookers did not see the ground. No one noticed that the floor covering this entire area had a layer of Living Metal on top of it. It melded with the explosions and shadows so everyone would hardly notice.
"To think you would use the same tactic for them. How nostalgic."
Bianca smiled at the black sea. It was one of the first scenes her Weapon created for her. And the first time he announced he was hers.
"Shut up. I serve only one master. And her name is Bianca Valestra..."
Remembering it gave Bianca butterflies. But to anyone else, it would give them horrific nightmares. And Elian wanted to remind Earth of something.
Bianca, I am ready.
She heard his thoughts and raised her hand. There was another reason she was not fighting. It was because she had a different task. Mana surged from her surroundings. She was actually not possessing a human. She was here as a ghost.
"Psyche Field!"
Galaxy spread out with Bianca as a center. Silver and golden lights swirled like stars all across the battlefield. These lights each represented a single soul. But that was not what was important. It was what Elian was going to do.
"Enslave," the Tyrant murmured.
Bianca, please start.
"SOUL BIND!"
Every light floating in the air was suddenly dragged back down to its original body.
One by one, the corpses stood—no longer flesh, but forged in Living Metal. Not a single soul had been spared. Their eyes burned like orange flames, a mark that all Weapons shared. Everyone knew whom these monsters served.
A sudden silence fell over everyone present and watching.
That was the day humanity began to fear Elian Reed.
