Chapter 132: Terms

After Elian’s fierce declaration, Yearns raised her head, "Tyrant, I have been studying you for the past few days. Although you are powerful, you are still lacking."

Her words caused the surrounding temperature to plummet. A chilling voice menacingly echoed for everyone to hear.

"Watch your tongue, you sanctimonious insect, or I will rip your head off your neck."

Cute.

[Talent: Adamant – deactivated.]

Bianca. It’s alright.

"But Elian! She dares too..."

As the emotions locked away returned, Elian’s grip on Bianca’s hand tightened. The Witch’s words rapidly calmed down Elian’s head. Seeing his lover grow furious at the insult reminded him that he wasn’t alone.

He wasn’t insulted. The fact that Virexar could already invade while Earth couldn’t spoke volumes. He was far too ignorant about the matters surrounding the crucible.

While the Tyrant knew he was no longer weak, he also understood that such an assessment only held true against the humans. Seeing his reaction, Bianca held her tongue. To give him face to speak showed not just her maturity but also respect.

He gave his lover an affectionate smile before turning to the white mothlike creature kneeling before him.

"I am aware, bug. But I am still stronger than you."

"Yes. Which is why I sought your help, Tyrant. I cannot accomplish my goals without you," Yearns whimpered.

"What does helping you have to do with protecting my lover? I can get the same result just from killing you and bringing you back." Elian then gestured to the golem army surrounding them.

Yearns swallowed hard. "Indeed, I’m certain you could... but you’d waste time. Resources. You don’t have much of either."

Hearing her roundabout explanation, Elian groaned inwardly.

Ugh, this is why dealing with high INT stat bastards. Trying to understand them is a pain.

"Do you want me to try? Right now, bridging our knowledge gap should take priority. Even at a Pseudo-5 I cannot access Crucible-related information. We must find out what she knows," Bianca urged in his mind.

Got it. Bianca, can you play good cop?

"Eh?" she blinked. "Right now? Ugh... okay—I guess?"

The Tyrant made a slight nod and moved closer to Yearns. He then violently grabbed Yearns by the antennae coming out of her forehead. Elian yanked them upward, almost tearing them off completely.

"AHHH!! Please stop!" she cried out in tears.

However unbothered by her pitiful screams, Elian grabbed her by the neck and squeezed. Ignoring the onlookers and the invaders standing by the gate, Elian’s tyranny continued.

"Listen, bug. Do not test my patience. I asked you a question. Answer me and live, or play word games and die. Choose."

Like a vice, Elian’s fingers pressed around the spy’s windpipe. He wasn’t sure if insects actually needed to breathe but knew that most living beings died when you separated their head and body.

Yearns kicked and gasped while trying to pry Elian’s tight grip. Her eyes began to bulge out as her white skin began to discolor into shades of blue. The blood under her skin also began to turn violet.

"Axis! I Axis Virexar to Earth! We shield you!"

Although unable to understand the full picture, Elian got the general idea. Without mercy, he threw Yearns to the ground like a rag and then stomped on her wing.

"AHHHH!!!!"

At the spy’s mournful screams, Bianca finally spoke up.

"My Tyrant, can you please have mercy on her? For me, at least?"

That didn’t sound convincing at all.

"Quiet! I do not improvise very well," Bianca snapped.

Elian tried very hard to remain stoic and lifted his food off Yearn’s wing. The Anchor from Virexar quickly rolled up her wing and gingerly massaged it. Bianca stepped forward and opened up a high-quality potion and splashed some on Yearn’s injuries.

"Please forgive him. He tends to be quite overprotective of me. Ms. Yearns, I will be brief. Give me something. Anything that will convince us to help you." Bianca gingerly fed the rest of the potion to Yearns’ mouth, healing her completely.

"Guerk! Guerk!" Coughing a bit violently, Yearns took a moment to regain her composure before continuing. "All worlds in the crucible can be attacked. Meaning that to attack a world you must claim one of the four positions beside one."

Yearns used her mana to draw a grid of circles and marked one blue.

"This position is not real and is just a digital placement. Your world does not actually move. Think of it like those in a computer game."

How long has this bug been on Earth to even understand human games?

"Hmm, she might have been here way earlier, much like Fralhame and Averignis."

Furrowing his brows, Elian continued to listen to Yearn’s explanations. The North, South, East, and West positions of Earth light up.

"In this case, Virexar paid the price to move beside Earth. I do not know which. But with us here, only three other worlds can attack you. As long as we remain here, any fourth attacker will need to forcefully evict us first."

Bianca nodded in understanding and placed her hand on the tip of her chin. "I see. Whether by force, diplomacy, or bribery, the fourth attacker must move you first before they can get to us."

The insect’s eyes widened; Yearns energetically bobbed her head in agreement. "Yes. That is the case. The four spots around a world are called an axis. So long as four allies occupy your sides, you cannot be invaded."

Elian sneered, "Then you wish to take one of these spots for Earth in exchange for my help? I can see the benefit, but why do I even need you?"

Yearns immediately lowered her head and continued, "Tyrant. Virexar is primarily composed of hunter broods. Frankly, my race is full of muscleheads. While we are only one victory away from officially joining, I am sure we will go extinct as things stand."

"Why?"

"We simply do not have the numbers to win. Virexar prides itself on its strength but not on its ability to reproduce. We are far too weak; we need time and resources to grow."

Elian grew interested upon seeing Yearn’s face. It was one he recognized well. The anger and frustration were evident. It was the face of someone who had been suffering for a long while. One on the verge of exploding.

"What do you need?" he asked bluntly.

Yearns lifted up her head and begged, "A revolution. Help me kill the Tyrants of Virexar. I have a way to remove the curse of the Anchor. After you kill this invasion, help me take over my world. Once I am the only one left, I will offer Virexar as your Axis world forever!"

Knowing what was at stake, Elian made his choice. He stretched out his hand, and a Living Metal serpent shot out. It grabbed Yearn’s neck and bit her. Through sharp fangs, Elian injected Dominator Variants into her bloodstream.

Due to her transparent skin, the ashen liquid could be seen as it traced around her body. Within moments, all the Dominator fluids flowed upward to her brain. Yearns couldn’t even scream and merely dropped to the floor.

With a cold voice, Elian declared, "I accept your terms."

Not sparing her a second glance, Elian turned to Silent.

She made a slight nod of approval at his actions. While Fralhame had more victories under their belt, they were newbies just like Earth. Most of what Bastion and Silent knew was tales from Sunny.

It was this knowledge that allowed Silent to consider Yearns as a potential ally.

"Well done, Son-in-law."

"Thank you for your gift."

The gigantic wolf’s eyes narrowed, "I hardly did anything. She only said she would offer you Virexar. The rest of your choices were all you."

Elian couldn’t help but feel pleased at her praise. If he had never met Yearns, he might have just killed all the insects. And while he might have learned about the Axis planets eventually, finding a willing leader was hard.

If I place Fralhame and Averignis as the other two planets, I just need one more to seal Earth from invasion. Once that is settled, we can go on the offensive.

"Sigh. Please do remember that such a setup also means you must defend four planets instead of just one. You would need a massive force to have enough guards to protect Earth’s entire axis."

Hearing Bianca’s opinion, Elian agreed while looking toward the gate. A massive mana signature slowly made its way out. A small black bubble surged outward along with bubbles obviously containing more Knight-class mantises.

"I am not worried. We have plenty of volunteers."

[Alert: Crestfall City Announcement: The Virexar Tyrant has arrived on Earth. The 60-hour countdown will begin shortly.]

[Time remaining for invasion: 59:59:59]

The black bubble popped and showed a humanoid lobster. One that was blue in color with violent marks on its body. His face and torso looked that of a crustacean, but rather than claws, he had massive bear-like hands. His lower limbs were legs that had webbed feet.

"Scan."

"Oh. So, he is a muscle-bound idiot," Elian remarked.

The enemy Tyrant then screamed in a deafening roar.

"ELIAN REED! I COME FOR YOUR HEAD! FACE ME, OR I WILL RAVAGE YOUR KINGDOM!"

Unknowingly, Elian licked his lips in anticipation.

"I hope you last longer."
