My Wife is a Dead Villainess, and I'm Her Living Weapon-Chapter 147: Representative
Chapter 147: Representative
"Hmph! I don’t like her. Can we hire someone else?" Bianca complained with a pout.
Elian began to wonder why everything this woman did made his lips curl into a smile. She was even wearing someone else’s face, but just knowing it was her made him giddy.
Uncontrollably, he reached out and grabbed Bianca’s body on instinct and hugged it.
"Eh? Elian, wait! What are you doing?"
But Elian said nothing and simply basked in the warmth of his lover’s body.
I love you, Bianca.
His deep thoughts made the witch blush. Looking down, she whispered in a voice barely audible. "I love you too, Elian."
Although reluctant, the Tyrant released her. Like a snake, his hand darted and grabbed Bianca’s hand. Gently, he intertwined their fingers and pulled her along. As if it were the most natural thing in the world, Bianca followed him without complaint.
Neither said anything as they walked.
They might have been two people, but in moments like this, they felt as one. Feeling each other’s warmth through their hands gave Elian bliss; however, it was also a reminder of the borders that separated them.
Living Metal had mana in it. Thus, it allowed Bianca’s soul body to interact with it. In the beginning, the body Forged gave Elian could even touch her. It was better now. Because of his growth, he could at least embrace her soul body to some degree.
But I want more.
It was a wish Elian hid inside his heart. He wanted to feel his lover’s skin. He longed to see her return to the land of the living. Despite what they had, it still felt incomplete.
Many things have happened since then, but as their hearts grew closer, not being able to indulge in physical intimacy gnawed at the Tyrant. What purpose did his power serve if he couldn’t even do something as simple as feeling his woman’s warmth?
Katri led them to a large conference room. When they entered, the people inside stood up to greet them. It was the lovebirds, Charlotte and Ned. Ned waved to Bianca and Elian while Charlotte made a slight bow.
Elian took his seat at the head of the table and pulled Bianca toward him.
"Ack!"
Surprised by his gesture, she tripped and was about to fall, but Elian caught her gently and placed her on his lap. He then fussed over her clothes and checked for injuries. Bianca blushed and looked down as her lover doted on her.
"Are you all right?"
"Yes," she answered in a quiet voice.
Elian smiled and stole her lips for a quick kiss. Bianca grew flustered for a moment, but returned his affection meekly. When they parted, Elian grew satisfied and secured his arm around his lover’s waist.
Bianca could only sigh in defeat as she laid her body against his chest. Snuggling to make herself comfortable, she noticed Charlotte looking her way. She was rolling her eyes at their display of affection. Bianca could only look down in embarrassment.
"What do you want?"
Whatever cheery or happy mood the room basked in vanished at Elian’s question. His voice was stern and devoid of any warmth. Contrasting with the doting tone he used for Bianca, the impression he gave was now that of a cold and deadly blade.
Charlotte could only gulp in nervousness. But then Ned placed a hand over her to calm her. The two gazed at each other before the former crusader turned to Elian.
"Elian. Whatever you intend to do, don’t," Ned advised.
"..."
"I know you are angry. This armor feels what you do. I can only guess what the other Weapons are feeling. Silent in particular has already gone berserk; she has..."
"They touched what was mine," Elian replied coldly.
"I can understand that, but..."
"And if it were Charlotte?"
"What?"
Elian clenched his jaw and practically snarled like an animal.
"Ned, I respect you. But do not lecture me on what to feel right now. I just found out that the woman I love the most has been abused since her birth. And those who did so are still alive and breathing," Elian tried very hard to remain calm, but his body ended up shaking. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
"I ask again. If Charlotte was the same one who ended up on the receiving such injustice. What would you do?" the Tyrant challenged.
His eyes, which were black and looked eerie, began to glow faintly with mana. However, despite Elian’s domineering display, Ned only shook his head.
Perhaps the only man in the world who could stare Elian in the eyes and not flinch, Ned sighed.
"If I am being honest, I would go to kill them all. I would probably ask for your help too. Ain’t no way I can live on the same planet as any of them."
"Neddy..."
While Charlotte grew teary-eyed at her partner’s reply, Elian made a savage grin.
"This is why you are my brother. Will you help me?"
"Yeah, of course."
"Wait! We don’t even know what he intends to do yet! Silver, tell us first what you want to do!" she then turned to Bianca and scolded, "And you! What happened to you, Velvet? Since when have you meekly just stood by? Will you let your lover rampage unchecked?"
"And what would you have me do, Char?"
At Bianca’s sudden question, the woman became confused.
"Huh?"
The witch rolled her eyes and snuggled more into Elian’s chest.
"What would you do if you had a lover who would burn entire worlds for your sake? My position as the object of his affection has turned my words into law. With a single word, I can have people live or die. What would you do in my position?"
Charlotte thought for a moment, "T-Then you should control him! That’s your job as his spouse. You must guide him on the right path! If both of you go unhinged, all that will be left is death and destruction."
"Why?"
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"Char, you know my story and how this world operates. Do you honestly think it’s perfect? That nothing needs to be changed?" Bianca asked in a provocative voice.
"Well, no... but... think of the millions who will be caught in the crossfire!"
"I should do so, even when no one has bothered to do the same for me?"
"T-Thats..."
Unable to come up with a good argument, Charlotte turned to Elian.
"Silver! Some of your weapons have begun massacring people from the Church. I don’t know how they choose their targets, but they are butchering people left and right. You have to stop them!"
At her words, Elian turned to Bianca and asked in a calm voice, "Is mother-in-law using the nanomachine logs?"
"Yes, she is using it as evidence and is executing everyone from the Truthsong Church who fails her moral check."
"I see."
"Silver! Don’t ignore me!"
At that moment, Elian slammed his fist into the table, causing the wood to splinter and break apart. Charlotte flinched, but Ned calmed her down.
"Char, you are Velvet’s friend and my brother’s wife. Those are the only reasons I allow you to do as you will. But make no mistake, I do not answer to you. Nor your brand of morality or justice."
Retracting his fist, Elian’s face grew softer as he continued.
"I will disband the Big Three. Every institution they have built, I will replace. Every leader who harmed my woman shall die. Those who choose to fight will be killed and turned into Weapons. Those who step aside will be spared."
Charlotte gulped. "But t-that’s... you intend to rule this planet by force?"
"No. I don’t."
At Elian’s words, Charlotte, Ned, and Katri all expressed surprise. Most oppressive kings wish to rule for as long as possible; thus, they establish dynasties based on force and bloodshed.
Elian’s eyes furrowed upon seeing their reaction.
"I don’t give a crap about humans."
"..."
"What do you mean, Elian?" Ned asked.
"How you live, how you govern yourselves, even how you die, I couldn’t care less. I will dismantle the Big Three for my own vengeance. Who takes over afterwards? I will leave that up to you. Once I conquer Earth, I will move on."
"Move on? Then you intend to wage war on the Crucible as you said, Lucian," Katri verified.
The Tyrant nodded, "Yes, dismantling the Big Three is just a steppingstone. It’s not my goal. Char all your worries about the future; you’re right. I cannot rule properly. And I do not intend to. But I do know that to get there, you need to show your resolve."
Elian then created a coin with Living Metal. Before placing it on the table and sliding it to Charlotte. After receiving the coin, Charlotte looked at it with trepidation. It was a tiny thing, a metal coin, but she knew of its immense weight.
But she took it in anyway. Her fingers trembled slightly, as the small trinket carried the burden of an entire world.
"I will get you there. Neither Velvet nor I want to lead humanity forever. But, I will lead the humans to war until the Crucible is open. Charlotte, you may rule them as you wish afterwards. This crown represents my approval. I gave the same one to Katri and Ned. You are my representatives; act as you wish."
"Wait! Silver, you intend to make us the leaders afterward? But why would they even follow us?"
"Because I will kill them if they don’t," Elian said curtly. "What policies you decide. Whether you become a wise or foolish leader, that part is up to you. My intervention begins and ends with butchering the system that hurt my woman."
"Sigh, aren’t you being too irresponsible? How can you not care?" Charlotte snapped.
"That’s why you’re here. Katri, this is the woman I told you about last night. Your job will be to support her. Ned over there is my most trusted brother. He will take care of you in my stead. Ned, Charlotte, you should have already met Katri; she is one of us now."
Ned brushed the back of his head as he complained, "You’re saddling us with the hard part, brother."
"I know," Elian answered. "I am sorry. And I thank you."
