My Wife is a Dead Villainess, and I'm Her Living Weapon-Chapter 151: Gear
Chapter 151: Gear
"I am here live from Crestfall City in what appears to be..."
"Chat, this seems like something epic, what do you think?"
"...and you’re a resident? Do you know who this Silas is?"
"Get your hot dogs! Get your Valestra hot dogs here!"
"Dude, aren’t the nobles like elitist? Why is one joining the Weapons?"
"Place your bets! Will Elian Reed murder the applicant? The odds are 70:30 that he will!"
Elian rolled his eyes upon seeing the reactions of those outside. They were using long-distance cameras and drones to see what was going on. But they did not obnoxiously get too close.
The Tyrant was about to wonder why when he saw a wave of flying shrimp rip the drone to pieces. Focusing his eyes, he noticed that the perimeter established by the Weapons was reinforced by different species like a real army.
"I wonder whose idea it was to do it in that manner."
The only people in the sea of Weapons were Elian, Bianca, Charlotte, Ned, Katri, and Silas. No other human had the balls to venture deeper into Elian’s territory. There were only two people that did so even under the threat of getting killed.
"Speaking of, where are Marcus and Tessa?"
Normally the two Breakers were around trying to ingratiate themselves with Elian. They didn’t leave even after the invasion arrived, but they also didn’t help in any manner.
"I am tracking their nanomachines. They are still in the city. Despite the order to leave," Bianca replied.
"They are? You have a history with the Bronze Giant and Purple Lightning, Elian?"
At Katri’s sudden question, the Tyrant drew a blank. "Who?"
Ned facepalmed and provided context with a wry smile. "Those are the monikers or aliases of Marcus Steel and Tessa Potts. Everyone who is an A-ranked Breaker gets one."
Elian’s eyes grew wide as he stared at Silas. "You got one too?"
He nodded with a smile, "Yes. Indeed I do. I was given the mantle of my house’s alias, ’The Shield of the Ascendancy’. As Dornevales hardly survive long enough to fight together, we just pass the same alias rather than give a second."
"Ho? That sounds impressive. You really are a big shot, huh? Scan."

"Hmm, your numbers are around Arjun’s combat power," Elian said with a shrug.
"Ah, you must be referring to Arjun Sharma. Yes, we are of the same generation. But unlike him, who climbed by his own power, I bear the legacy of my house. Please do not underestimate me too much."
At Silas’ playful comment, Elian couldn’t help but agree. Compared to Breakers from the Bloodright of Conquest, those from the Ascendancy could be thought of as those born with a silver spoon.
They had few Breakers, but they were given access to everything. From their training to their mentality, every said Breaker from the noble faction was the cream of the crop. And now Elian had the opportunity to see those near the top.
"Well, I have also grown. Scan."

___
Statwise, the difference was not that great. But that was considering that Elian had yet to get his third job and that he was only half of Silas’ level. Only his HP was of another caliber. Mana-wise, he still had only ten points.
While most people might have gotten to the dusk rank for participating in the defense of an invasion, Elian couldn’t even get to Peak Radiant. But considering the actual power he could call, the stat sheet didn’t tell the whole story.
"Although seeing my own species, I begin to wonder if I really am still human," Elian said in a murmur.
"You got some high-end recording equipment?" he asked Katri.
She pointed a finger at herself and crabbed in a foul mood, "Do I look like I have one?"
Elian grimaced and turned to Ned and Charlotte, both of whom shook their heads or shrugged. If it was the old Elian, he would have stopped at this point, but the new Elian had a different world view now.
Well, I don’t really need to own one. Just need someone else to have one.
At his thought, Bianca looked at him with an affectionate smile.
"Such an excellent student."
Elian looked at the other crowd and gave out a quest.
[Alert: The Earth Faction: Weapons of Valestra has issued an Earth-wide quest: I need a cameraman.]
[Quest Giver: Elian Reed
World: Earth
Details: I want someone to stream this battle; those interested, come forth.
Locations: Crestfall City.
Time limit: N/A
Reward: 1 Crown
Failure Penalty: N/A
Accept? Yes | No.]
Immediately, a loud clamor came from all the humans at the edge of the Weapon perimeter. Like an angry tide, the humans pushed against each other in order to get to the front. Streamers, reporters, and all sorts of people came forward, screaming, "Me! Me!".
Elian turned to his faction’s receptionist and smiled, "There’s your camera; please pick some and come back quickly."
Katri didn’t move and just stared back. When a moment passed, she faltered, "Wait. You’re serious?"
Finding her reactions funny, Elian stomped on the ground and had a wave of Living Metal separate from his body. The large tide scooped Katri and brought her quickly to the humans before it slowed down and gently let her off.
"KYA!!!! WHAT IS THIS??!!! STOP!!!"
The receptionist screamed at the sudden joyride. But settled down when she returned to solid ground.
Those left behind could stop themselves from commenting.
"Yoh! That was cool. Can I do that too?" Ned asked in excitement.
Meanwhile, Charlotte facepalmed. She complained to Bianca in frustration, "Bianca, your husband is too flippant. We’re going to need an image consultant at this rate!"
"I know. But isn’t he adorable?" Bianca replied with affection.
Meanwhile, Silas began to arm himself as he pulled out what looked like golden full-plate armor, jewelry, and a giant war hammer. As Katri had told him, Silas Dornevale, a breaker from the Noble Ascendancy looked really amazing.
His opulent visage, sparkling jewelry, and imposing presence turned him into a heroic figure who had jumped out of a storybook. Elian scanned again and noticed a large change.
___
Name: Silas Dornevale (M)
HP: 255,000/255,000 | MP: 100,000/100,000
Strength: SS | Intelligence: S | Agility: S
Job: Defender (S) | Guardian (S) | Arch Guardian (SS)
___
"Ho? His stats, HP and MP all increased! So, this is the power of gear," but then Elian grew puzzled, "If that is the case, why didn’t Ned’s stats grow along with the armor and weaponry I gave?"
[That would be because the system does not recognize Nedeshwar Patel’s armor as his own power. To everyone else, he would be evaluated with it. But as you are the gear’s owner, it is excluded from your own scans. Should I add it moving forward?]
What the system answered technically wasn’t wrong, but it highlighted that Living Metal was a part of him. Elian nodded in understanding and replied curtly.
"Yes, please do. Moving forward, anyone I arm with my material should reflect the stats I give them."
[Acknowledged.]
Bianca circled Silas as she observed.
"It seems Walther has not been slacking at his investments; these are all really good artifacts. Some of them I recognize, but many are new. Where did you get them?"
Silas sheepishly lowered his head while answering. "Uhm, Father told me that Duke Nobel used the Crucible system to purchase artifacts. He has been selling those to the other factions in exchange for favors and other benefits."
The witch clicked her tongue in disgust, "Somehow I am not surprised. They used it to lord over the humans, no? The Ascendancy would most likely try to hoard them, trading land and business to the other factions just to get more."
"It is as you say, my lady."
Bianca crossed her arms and massaged her temple, "All while ensuring the rest of the world remains weak. Truly useless."
Silas sighed and nodded in agreement, "Well, hopefully that ends today. I look forward to fighting Sir HSK in real battle. It has been a while since I have had such an exciting opponent."
"Just try not to die, Silas; I still have much for you to do," she added.
"I shall do my best."
Using the vision of the Weapons near Katri, Elian waited for her to finish getting cameramen. When she finally chose a female streamer and two reporters. Without waiting for her to call him, Elian had the wave come back.
Needless to say, the cameramen were just as frantic upon suddenly being abducted and ferried by a tidal wave of black liquid metal.
As Katri and the rest returned, Elian faced Silas, "Shall we get started?"
"I await your instructions, Tyrant."
"Charade, golem."
Transforming back to his wall armor, Elian didn’t bother waiting for the cameramen before starting. Igniting the Cinderglass in his thrusters, he raced forward eager to test the Shield of the Ascendancy.
