My Wife is a Dead Villainess, and I'm Her Living Weapon-Chapter 169: Refuse
Chapter 169: Refuse
"I GROW TIRED OF THIS FARCE!"
The fierce bellow of ’Depth Deeper than the Center’ made the air quake. His massive face grimaced in anger; the mere creasing of his face caused wood to creak and snap. Gazing at the immense presence of Karnathi’s Tyrant made Bianca grow restless.
She had been fighting this colossal giant to win, yet nothing she did worked. ’Depth Deeper than the Center’s bark was near invincible; his strength, overbearing. Each of his strikes ripped even the air, causing powerful gales to create a vacuum.
Bianca had her hands full just trying to stay alive. And though she acted arrogantly, inside, she was terrified of getting killed.
Funny that I’m actually scared of dying now.
Yes. Contrary to a decade ago, the current Bianca Valestra no longer wishes to die. After all, everything she longed for all those years ago was now hers.
Parents who loved her unconditionally.
A sister who would laugh and cry with her.
A country that would protect her.
A place to call home.
And finally.
A man who loved her above everything else and who would never betray her.
To most, such things were given as a matter of fact. They were normal, something everyone had and took for granted. But to Bianca, they were treasures beyond compare.
Thus, the woman who once did not care whether she lived or died had found her reason to struggle. She couldn’t permit herself to disappear, not until she spent centuries beside the man who chose her.
Her. The murderer of thousands. A bastardized experiment no one asked for. An artificial human, abandoned and despised. A villainess whom the world wanted dead.
Idiot. I even had the decency to try to spare you from that fate.
She told him everything.
And yet Elian Reed still answered in perhaps the greatest way possible.
"Bianca Valestra, I love you. Will you marry me?"
Bianca couldn’t help but feel power and joy coursing through her body. That single memory made all her suffering worth it. From then on, she made one single resolution.
If it is for him, there is nothing I will not do.
The Witch of the Frozen Night’s life had endless upheavals. All because of a young boy she saved by chance. Who unknown to her, would become the greatest blessing of her life.
Elian.
Just chanting his name gave her soul unfathomable courage. The memories of his affection and sheer majesty made her body hot. Despite turning into a golem, he still had the same kind eyes that gazed at her so lovingly that she found herself lost in them.
Bianca raised her left index finger. Her new boosters flared, unleashing a thunderous blast that launched her forward like a bullet. She tucked the Fralhame Lance under her armpit and pulled the trigger.
A powerful blast of plasma raced forward; it hit her opponent’s eyebrow and set the entire path of trees and bushes on fire.
"YOU! STOP BURNING MY EYEBROWS!"
In response to her attack, thousands of razor-sharp leaves spun like saws and raced towards her. Thousands of cannon-like plants littered along ’Depth Deeper than the Center’ frame spat seed like projectiles toward her.
Tsk. Annoying!
Twisting her left hand, the Averignis Wing unit pitched left. Bianca lowered her left ring finger, and her wings turned folded inward. Without them, she dropped like a brick and fell. Using her mana, Ice VII mirrors spread in front of her and formed a wide shield.
Somersaulting backward, she raised her index finger, which once again ignited Cinderglass for thrust. Like a mermaid swimming through the air, Bianca maneuvered in three dimensions with near-impossible feats of agility.
When she avoided all the attacks, she closed her left hand into a fist, and her wings opened up and allowed her to once again soar.
Hmm. I should change that command to something else; using a whole fist for a wing redeploy is too wasteful.
The control unit for the Averignis Wing unit was added to the gloves Elian made for her. It allowed her to control the metals like her own body using a system she designed herself.
She aimed her sniper rifle at her opponent’s bushy armpits and held up her index and middle fingers in both hands. Her wings all tilted forward and revealed Cinderglass missiles. Two from each blade of her wings.
"DIE!"
Firing a dozen missiles and her rifle, Bianca devastated her target. The fires spread and began to raze the forest to ash. The Tyrant she was fighting bellowed as he began to smother the fires with his massive hand.
"YOU REALLY ARE ONE UNCLOUTED SAVAGE! WHO INTENTIONALLY SETS FIRE TO THEIR OPPONENT’S HAIR? FIGHT ME WITH HONOR, YOU BUZZING PRICK!" Bianca’s opponent rebuked in anger.
"HA! AS IF! IF YOU’RE SO GREAT THEN JUST SWAT ME ALREADY, YOU OVERSIZED TOOTHPICK! OR WOULD A BACKSCRATCHER BE MORE APT?"
Hurling abuse at her opponent seemed to be working, so far, her opponent had completely forgotten about Elian. Thus, no matter how demeaning it was to curse in such a classless manner, Bianca willingly threw her pride away.
At least until she heard a whisper from the man she loved.
Crap, what if I fail? What if we can’t win this?
Hearing his worries, she immediately looked his way. He was surrounded by his metals in what looked like a workshop. She could feel his emotions locked away, yet his mind seemed to be drowning in worst-case scenarios, all of which involved her dying.
You silly penguin. How can you care only about me and nothing else?
With a smile on her face, she sent a mental transmission to Elian.
"Be still, my love."
Her opponent didn’t let up and continued to attack her. Yet, like a flying acrobat, she danced around everything the tree threw her way. Bianca’s gaze never left her lover as she spoke her true thoughts.
"Do not fear, I am here right beside you. Alone we might not be enough, but together we are unstoppable. Focus; I am certain you will find a way to win; I just know it."
Her words caused Elian’s mind to turn silent. If earlier it had sounded like hundreds of minds were all speaking at once, now it was quiet and still, like a library.
Sigh, I really am no match for you.
Hearing his adorable frustrations, Bianca couldn’t help but quip, "Fufu, how could you? I am amazing after all!" Giggling, she added, "Are you all right now?"
Yeah, I am. Thank you, Bianca. I love you.
"And I you. Hurry, or this mannerless beanpole will be dead by the time you arrive."
Elian’s thoughts then began to grow cluttered once again. But unlike a market, it sounded like he was brainstorming with several people. This was how his mind sounded when he was busy thinking of solutions.
Figuring that he would be fine now, she refocused on her battle. Only for the enemy Tyrant to furrow his scorched eyebrows and frown.
"YOU SEEM TO THINK THAT I AM A FOOL! I DID NOT PLAY WITH YOU BECAUSE I FELL FOR YOUR TRICK! I AM JUST HONESTLY DISAPPOINTED THAT HE IS THAT WEAK!"
Bianca felt a freezing chill crawl up her spine. She couldn’t help but gulp and tense her hands around her sniper rifle.
"H-HE IS NOT WEAK!"
"OH BUT HE IS! I AM MERELY WAITING FOR WHATEVER HE IS TRYING TO FINISH! ALL SO I CAN CRUSH HIM UNDER MY HEEL AND MAKE HIM FEEL DESPAIR!"
At the Tyrant’s reveal, Bianca inwardly began to panic. However, she calmed herself with a single thought. She declared it out loud as the oppressive being stared her down.
"ELIAN WILL NEVER LOSE TO YOU! I WILL PROTECT HIM!"
"THEN DIE WITH HIM!"
At her opponent’s roar, he swung both arms toward Bianca. She tried to dodge like normal, but before she could completely evade their reach, the wood grew in width and then expanded. Like balloons inflating, the arms chasing her widened by several sizes.
Suddenly, she found herself enclosed in a cage of wood and moss. It rapidly constricted, squeezing everything inside.
Tsk, so it still has some tricks left.
Bianca raced forward and tried to leave the enclosure. She blasted one single spot in the cage and obliterated the branches and leaves around it. But, just as she was about to leave, the burnt ends regrew and suddenly grew in length.
The short distance and their immense speed took Bianca off guard. Like boa constrictors, they grabbed all four of her limbs and began to bind her body. The witch felt her mana suddenly being sucked out of her as if a giant syringe was draining her of blood.
"Ahh!"
A single cry of pain escaped her lips.
"HAHAHAHA! SO EVEN THE VILLAINESS ONLY AMOUNTS TO THIS MUCH! THIS IS A COMPETE—"
Before ’Depth Deeper than the Center’ could finish his words, a sharp buzzing sound echoed around the sky. It wasn’t just one, but hundreds. As if multiple hives of bees all flew as one.
Groggy from having her mana drained, Bianca could barely pinpoint the sound. The surrounding cage of roots and foliage enclosed her like a prison, sealing her in absolute darkness.
But then the sound grew louder.
BBBBZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.
A mechanical scream, high-pitched and wild, tore through the silence.
"Chainsaws?"
She couldn’t see anything. But she knew—
He was here.
A heartbeat later, the bindings shattered, and sunlight flooded her vision.
"Took you long enough," she croaked, smiling.
"Sorry. You can rest now."
"I refuse. We’re butchering this thing together."
She could barely see Elian’s face as her vision remained blurry from exhaustion. But his warmth was all she needed.
"Then let’s go, my Anchor."
"Yes, My Tyrant."
