Chapter 28: Chapter 28: Moral Blackmail Again?

When Alvin Morgan’s message arrived, Aurora Sinclair was in the kitchen making pork rib soup for Master Sinclair.

She glanced at the pot on the stove, thought for a moment, and sent him a three-word reply: "Pork rib soup."

And so, Beta Morgan once again started searching all over Kingsford for the best restaurant for stewed pork rib soup.

When Aurora Sinclair arrived at Arcadian University’s Academy of History with a soup thermos and an insulated lunch box, Beta Morgan silently pushed the thermos already on the table toward Erin Archer.

Butler Sinclair, beaming, helped Aurora ladle out the soup. With a proud look on his face, he said, "Our Second Miss made this herself. Everyone, have a taste..."

Having met Alvin Morgan and Beta Morgan a few times, Butler Sinclair was now familiar with them and greeted them with a smile.

The two hadn’t told him their identities, so Butler Sinclair had always assumed they were Professor Erin Archer’s star students. Moreover, Aurora had mentioned that Alvin Morgan was teaching her a foreign language, which gave the butler a very good impression of him.

"Whitlock, Beta, come and have a taste..."

Beta Morgan’s expression was a little unnatural. Every time he heard Butler Sinclair call his master "Whitlock," he felt his hair stand on end.

In the Morgan Family, not even the Family Head would dream of calling him "Whitlock," and even if they did, there would be no response. But now, a mere butler from the Sinclair Family was calling him "Whitlock" over and over, and his master actually responded every time.

If anyone from the Morgan Family saw this, they would absolutely have to go to the Sinclair residence and worship Butler Sinclair.

Alvin Morgan took the bowl, had a sip, and praised with a smile, "It’s delicious!"

Aurora Sinclair nodded. Her face showed none of the bashfulness a girl should have; she was wooden and a bit oblivious to the romantic undertones.

Beta Morgan sighed as he drank his soup. ’If this were any other young lady from a wealthy Kingsford family, she’d probably be willing to die for my master by now. But this girl is far too calm.’

’The master’s a bit pitiful!’

After class, Erin Archer took out a beautiful jar of rainbow marshmallows from her desk and said cheerfully, "Aurora, this is your reward. Your spoken language has improved a lot!"

Aurora Sinclair blinked, accepted the jar with both hands, and bowed politely in thanks.

Erin Archer took the opportunity to glance at Alvin Morgan, then reached out to pat Aurora’s hair and offered a few more words of encouragement.

After she left, Erin Archer looked at Alvin Morgan teasingly. "The little lady doesn’t seem to have been affected much. Next time, it’s more sincere if you give the gift yourself."

Alvin Morgan didn’t say anything, merely standing by the window and looking down below.

Soon, the familiar figure emerged from the administration building, holding the jar of candy. Butler Sinclair seemed to be asking her about it, and she turned to point upstairs.

Their eyes met unexpectedly, making her pause for a moment before she nodded at him.

Even without any expression, her cool and distant face was exceptionally captivating.

Alvin Morgan’s heart skipped a beat.

「10:00 PM.」

Zeke Quincy and Jean Quincy were directing the maids to move boxes into the villa, one after another.

Jade Sinclair was initially angry that the two of them had come home late, but upon seeing the boxes, she couldn’t help but ask curiously, "Where have you two been?"

Zeke Quincy was squatting on the floor, busy unpacking the boxes. Jean Quincy, exhausted, gulped down some water before replying, "My brother and I went to buy a thank-you gift for the country bumpkin."

"Jean..." Zeke Quincy turned and glared at her.

Jean Quincy awkwardly corrected herself, "We went to buy a thank-you gift for my second cousin."

Jade Sinclair gave the gift boxes on the floor a complicated look. Her expression was a bit unnatural, and her cheeks burned with embarrassment.

Ever since the unfortunate incident, she had been worried that the rumors about Aurora Sinclair would endanger her own children. After the truth came out, she then worried that the matter would affect the Quincy Family’s reputation.

From beginning to end, she had never considered that Aurora Sinclair had saved her daughter, or that Aurora was the one most hurt in the whole affair.

No wonder Master Sinclair had been so furious today, even refusing to take her calls.

At this thought, Jade Sinclair immediately had a maid fetch her purse, from which she took out a Golden Card and handed it to Jean Quincy.

"Jean, Aurora was wronged this time. Give this card to her for me."

Alden Quincy, who was watching the news, frowned upon hearing this, his face showing disapproval. "We’re all family. Giving her money is too impersonal! You’d be better off having Jean take her shopping for some nice clothes. Your father would be happier about that."

Jade Sinclair thought about it and realized he had a point, glancing at her taciturn husband with approval.

Master Sinclair’s greatest wish was for the family to acknowledge Aurora Sinclair and treat her as one of their own.

"Jean, this weekend, ask Aurora to go shopping with you. Buy her a few nice outfits."

Jean Quincy was initially reluctant, but when she thought about how Aurora Sinclair had saved her without regard for her own safety, she grudgingly agreed.

「The next day.」

「Kingsford No. 1 High School.」

For the first time ever, the entire senior class was called to the athletic field during school hours to be addressed by the principal.

The students who had already seen the security footage leaked online had mostly guessed the reason.

Everyone’s gazes couldn’t help but drift toward the last figure in the girls’ line for Class 3-6.

The school forums had been buzzing about the video since yesterday afternoon, and many students had already posted public apologies to Aurora Sinclair under their real names.

On the main stage, Principal Lawson, with a grim expression, personally announced the school’s decision to expel Mandy Warren of Class 3-6.

As for the reason for Mandy Warren’s prank on Jean Quincy, he vaguely summarized it as "a conflict" without going into detail, which led to quiet speculation among the students.

Finally, he emphatically praised Aurora Sinclair’s heroic actions during the incident and awarded her a school-level Good Samaritan certificate.

The prize was a brand-new laptop computer.

The entire senior class, teachers and students alike, were so stunned that they stood frozen, forgetting to clap until Principal Lawson prompted them.

This was the first time in the history of Kingsford No. 1 High School that a student had been given such a valuable prize.

Principal Lawson looked at Aurora Sinclair’s impassive, cold face, unable to imagine what charm she possessed that could make the Crown Prince of the Morgan Family intervene.

Ever since receiving a warning from Kingsford’s Premier Family, the Morgans, yesterday, he had been on edge. He had rushed to have the computer purchased, the certificate printed, and this award ceremony arranged.

’If I had known this girl was under the Morgan family’s protection, I wouldn’t have dared to delay the investigation in a million years.’

"Mona, are you okay?"

A boy, noticing Mona Lowell’s unpleasant expression, asked with concern in a low voice.

Mona Lowell shook her head, her hands hidden beneath her school uniform clenching into tight fists.

After returning from the athletic field, Leon Barron tried to have someone move Aurora Sinclair’s desk, but Ethan Lowell forcefully stopped it.

Alex Warren scanned the students in front of them and said contemptuously, "Aurora is bad luck. Be careful or she’ll jinx you into failing your college entrance exams!"

These were the exact words the students of Class 3-6 had once used to attack Aurora Sinclair, and now they were being thrown right back in their faces.

Mona Lowell frowned and said sternly, "Alex, everyone has already admitted they were wrong. Is it necessary to be so relentless? Besides, we’re all classmates..."

"Heh... Trying to guilt-trip us again? When you were leading the charge to block the door, move her desk, and force her to drop out, did you think of her as a classmate then? Admitted you’re wrong? You haven’t even given a proper apology, and you call that admitting you’re wrong? Where do you get the nerve?"

Mona Lowell was so choked by his words that her face turned beet red, and she bit her lip hard.

Alex Warren continued, "Aurora, you just sit here. Don’t go anywhere!" 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

Aurora Sinclair nodded and said to Leon Barron, "I’ll sit here."

Luna Jennings also said she wouldn’t move.

Leon Barron was at a loss. He sighed and finally said to Ethan Lowell and his troublemaking friends, "Just don’t you guys disrupt their studies!"

Ethan Lowell put away his phone, sat up straight, and opened his textbook. His crew also stopped playing on their phones, all of them obediently following his lead and opening their slightly-used physics books.

From the podium, Leon Barron was so shocked his jaw almost hit the floor.

He knew just how much Ethan Lowell’s group loved to play games. Several subject teachers had complained to him about it, but they wouldn’t listen no matter what was said. If you pressed them too hard, they would just skip class as a group and go out to have fun.

But now they’d actually stopped playing and even picked up their textbooks... Hmm... to sleep?

’What a joyous and commendable occasion!’

***

After the lunch bell rang, Alex Warren called for the two girls to go eat.

A large group of boys walking together, surrounding the two girls, drew many sideways glances from other students.

Ethan Lowell was one of the senior class "princes," and many girls at school had a secret crush on him. However, his small group rarely got close to any girls.

In the past, only Jean Quincy from the arts class and Mona Lowell from Class 3-6 could even talk to them, but neither had ever enjoyed the "stars revolving around the moon" treatment that Aurora Sinclair and Luna Jennings were getting.

It was clear that the two of them had been completely accepted into Ethan Lowell’s circle.

During lunch, the large group of boys bustled about, taking care of their every need, much to the envy of all the other girls.

A girl who was friendly with Mona Lowell even asked her, "Mona, what’s the deal with Young Master Lowell and the school beauty in your class?"

Mona Lowell pursed her lips and glanced at the group across from them without a word, but the girl next to her pouted and said, "Young Master Lowell has probably taken a liking to the school beauty!"
