My Wife is a Hidden Big Shot-Chapter 51 - 48: Young Master of the Morgan Family?
Butler Sinclair’s face paled when he received the call from the police station. He immediately called Tanner Sinclair and Master Sinclair, then drove to the station.
"Officer, what has our Second Miss, Aurora Sinclair, done?"
"Drugging—" the police officer said, his face devoid of expression.
In all his years on the force, he had never seen a drug that could paralyze a person’s nervous system like this. The city hospital was at a complete loss. Aside from being able to move his head and speak, Marius Anson’s entire body was as numb as if he were paralyzed.
Butler Sinclair glanced at Aurora Sinclair in the interrogation room, utterly unconvinced. "Impossible! Our Second Miss would never drug anyone. Have you asked for the reason?"
"We asked. She won’t talk. There was also a little girl at the scene who seems to have been scared senseless; she’s not saying anything either. Right now, the only statement we have is from Marius Anson. He claims Aurora Sinclair tried to steal his family’s heirloom calligraphy brush, and when he caught her, she attacked him and sprayed him with poison."
"Impossible! Why would the Sinclair Family be interested in his things?"
The officer glanced at him and asked coolly, "Aurora Sinclair hasn’t been with the Sinclair Family for very long, has she?"
"What of it?" Butler Sinclair’s face darkened, his gaze turning cold.
"This is the brush in question. It appeared five years ago at an auction at The Phantom Trove. According to our investigation, the Sinclair Family wouldn’t have been qualified to enter, correct?"
The officer produced a few photos. They showed an exquisitely crafted calligraphy brush, its shaft bearing an inscription by Master Flora Guthrie.
Butler Sinclair was stunned. This definitely wasn’t the brush he had prepared for Aurora Sinclair.
Suddenly, he remembered the wooden box that Beta had given her, and his eyes lit up. "Officer, a friend of our Second Miss gave it to her."
"What friend?"
"He’s a student of Professor Erin Archer from Arcadian University..."
Before he could finish, the officer cut him off. "Butler Sinclair, this brush sold for 300 million at auction. Do you really think a student would be generous enough to give it away as a gift?"
Butler Sinclair was so shocked he was speechless for a long moment.
The officer continued, "Of course, there are some dubious points in Marius Anson’s claim that Aurora Sinclair stole his brush, and we will continue to investigate. However, since Aurora Sinclair is not cooperating with the investigation, we can’t release her right now. Until other evidence is found, the proof that she drugged him is conclusive. If Marius Anson decides to press charges, this matter won’t be resolved easily..."

Afterward, the Sinclair Family’s legal team rushed to the hospital.
Tanner Sinclair was the first to arrive at the police station and was allowed into the interrogation room to talk some sense into Aurora Sinclair.
Tanner Sinclair wore his usual smile. He tapped the table twice with the back of his hand. "My dear niece, how many times have you been arrested now?"
Aurora Sinclair thought for a moment, then answered obediently, "The third time."
"And what’s the reason this time? Tell your dear uncle, and I’ll help you analyze the situation."
Aurora Sinclair looked at him and shook her head. "I can’t say."
Tanner Sinclair propped his head on one hand, smiling as he probed, "My dear niece, you have a secret! You can’t even tell your uncle? Could it be that someone doesn’t want you to talk?"
Aurora Sinclair hesitated for a moment before nodding.
"Who could it be? So influential they can even persuade my little niece..."
Just as he was speaking, the interrogation room door opened. The officer outside said to the two of them, "You’re free to go."
"Huh? So soon?" Tanner Sinclair glanced at his watch. ’Haven’t I been in here for less than five minutes?’
The officer carefully returned the 300-million-dollar calligraphy brush to Aurora Sinclair.
"We’ve verified everything. This brush is indeed yours. We also received word from the hospital that Marius Anson’s symptoms have disappeared. He will be dropping the case."

「City Hospital.」
The hospital director looked nervously at the men standing before him.
At the bottom of the spray bottle brought over by the police, he had noticed a tiny, unique symbol.
It was the Morgan Family Emblem. Ordinary people wouldn’t recognize it; only those in the inner circles of Kingsford’s elite would ever have a chance to see it.
The only reason he knew was because he had been a student of the Warner Family’s Head and had once been fortunate enough to visit the Morgan estate, where he saw the emblem.
So, he immediately contacted the Morgans. Within half an hour, these men from the Morgan Family had arrived, and they had been sitting here ever since.
RING—
The phone on the desk suddenly rang.
Beta Morgan was the first to answer. After a few grunts of "Mhm," he hung up, turned, and reported respectfully to Alvin Morgan, "Sir, the police have released her. The Sinclair Family paid Marius Anson ten million, and they’ve reached a settlement."
"The reason."
"Miss Sinclair and the little girl wouldn’t say anything, and the police couldn’t get it out of them either."
"Hmph..."
Beta Morgan’s expression tightened. "I’ll investigate immediately!"

By the time Aurora Sinclair returned, Master Sinclair had already rushed back from the office to Tanner Sinclair’s apartment.
"Aurora, what on earth happened? Why did you drug Professor Anson?" Master Sinclair knew Aurora wouldn’t act rashly unless there was something wrong with the professor.
According to the Sinclair legal team, the man’s body had recovered, but he remained relentless. He insisted that Aurora had stolen from him and even threatened to go to the media to expose the Sinclair heiress for drugging him. It was clear from his words that all he wanted was money, a sure sign of poor character.
When Master Sinclair heard this, his face turned livid with anger, and he deeply regretted not sending someone to investigate the man more thoroughly beforehand.
Thankfully, the police had cleared things up. To keep the peace, he still had the legal team pay him hush money.
After all, the man was a second-tier member of the Kingsford Calligraphy and Painting Association and an officer in one of its branches. For Stella’s sake, the Sinclair Family couldn’t afford to completely alienate him.
Master Sinclair had thought that if he asked her himself, Aurora would surely tell him the truth, but she just shook her head and said she couldn’t say.
Master Sinclair sighed and didn’t press her further. Instead, he asked about something else.
"Aurora, Butler Sinclair said a student of Professor Archer’s gave you a very expensive calligraphy brush. Can you let Grandpa see it?"
Aurora Sinclair nodded, opening her school bag and taking out the xuan paper and wooden box.
Master Sinclair put on his reading glasses, opened the wooden box, and examined its contents carefully. The more he looked, the more stunned he became.
The brush was a rare treasure, a weasel-hair brush made by a master Craftsman, with an inscription from Master Flora Guthrie etched into its shaft.
The ink was top-grade Huizhou ink, its color a rich, lustrous black, exuding a faint, fragrant scent.
The inkstone was carved from natural Duanxi stone and featured a rare "ice crackle" pattern, clearly indicating its immense value.
And the xuan paper, needless to say, was clearly high-grade sized xuan paper.
A set of such quality wasn’t something an ordinary family could produce. It had to have come from one of the Seven Great Families.
’Could Professor Archer’s students be from the Core Lineage of one of the Seven Great Families?’
"Aurora, are you on good terms with them?" Master Sinclair felt a complex mix of emotions. These items were far too valuable.
Aurora Sinclair nodded. "They’re very nice."
"Aurora! What are their names? Grandpa should prepare something to give them in return."
Aurora Sinclair thought for a moment and replied, "Alvin Morgan and Beta Morgan."
CLANG— Master Sinclair nearly dropped the inkstone in his hands.
Butler Sinclair, standing beside him, was even more flabbergasted. His mind went blank, as if he were hearing things.
Out of his trust for Erin Archer, he had never paid much attention to the two students’ names or identities. When he ran into them, he would even follow Erin Archer’s lead and affectionately call them Whitlock and Beta.
"Aurora... you... you’re sure his name... is Alvin Morgan?" Master Sinclair was so shocked he could barely speak properly.
"Mhm." Aurora Sinclair nodded again.
Master Sinclair sat stunned in his chair for a good dozen seconds, looking as if his soul had left his body.
After a long while, he asked anxiously, "Aurora, where did you meet them?"
"Corvale."
’Where is that? Could it be near Sunstone?’
Master Sinclair narrowed his eyes, thought for a moment, and continued to ask, "Aurora, do you see them often at Professor Archer’s place?"
This time, Butler Sinclair didn’t remain silent. His voice trembling, he said, "They go there often. Whitlock... I mean... the Young Master of the Morgan Family often tutors the Second Miss in foreign languages and has given her many gifts..."
Master Sinclair was lost in a daze. ’Why would the Young Master of the Morgan Family get close to our Aurora?’
’Could it be that he also knows about Aurora’s secret?’
At this thought, Master Sinclair’s expression instantly soured, and his lips turned pale.
Just then, Aurora Sinclair’s phone started vibrating with a BZZZ BZZZ BZZZ.
The screen displayed a single word: "Morgan."
The moment Master Sinclair saw that word, he couldn’t help but tremble. Aurora swiped to answer and put the phone to her ear. The breathing of the two men beside her grew faint.
After listening for a moment, she suddenly handed the phone to Master Sinclair.
"Grandpa, he wants to talk to you."
Master Sinclair’s gaze sharpened. He pressed his lips together and took the phone with a solemn expression, as serious as if he were about to receive a call from a major dignitary.
"Hello, this is Preston Sinclair!"
Butler Sinclair stared fixedly at Master Sinclair, who was taking the call, his own clothes completely soaked with sweat.
The Morgan Family was a family at the very pinnacle of the pyramid.
Their rival forces would dream of wiping out the entire Morgan line. A bounty of five million Flower Coins had been placed on the head of a single branch family member, to say nothing of a member from the Core Lineage.
As a result, no one dared to leak their whereabouts, and even the entertainment industry didn’t dare to publish photos of the Morgans.
’To think that our Second Miss has actually caught the eye of the Young Master of the Morgan Family?’
’This feels completely unreal!’
After Master Sinclair hung up, he felt as if he were in a dream. The man on the phone had been gentle and polite, showing him the utmost respect. He not only explained the origin of the spray bottle in Aurora’s possession but also said he wished to pay him a formal visit.
"Aurora... have you told anyone else Alvin Morgan’s name, besides Grandpa and Butler Sinclair?"
Aurora Sinclair shook her head. "No."
Master Sinclair let out a breath of relief. "Aurora, you must never tell anyone their names in the future!"
Seeing the confusion in her eyes, he explained, "Their identities are very special. There are many bad people watching them..."
Aurora Sinclair recalled her encounter with Dean Morgan in Corvale and nodded emphatically.
Master Sinclair raised his hand and patted her head, pleased.
Just then, Hailey Gordon’s shrill voice suddenly came from outside the study.
"Fourth Brother, where is Aurora Sinclair? I’d like to ask her if she gave any thought to Stella at all when she did this! How is Stella supposed to face the people from the Kingsford Calligraphy and Painting Association now?"
