My Wife is a Hidden Big Shot-Chapter 59 - 56: I Will Protect You
Beta Morgan was aghast. He had never seen a Constitution as peculiar as Aurora Sinclair’s.
Her wounds wouldn’t heal easily, and she felt no pain.
"Go to the Warner Family—"
Alvin Morgan’s captivating eyes were now simmering with an inexplicable rage, and his usually placid voice was laced with urgency.
Beta Morgan didn’t dare to breathe, lowering his head to hide his expression.
’It’s over! My lord is truly furious!’
’The last person who made him this angry is long dead and buried.’
He silently said a prayer for the assassin.
"I have medicine," Aurora Sinclair said suddenly.
Beta Morgan’s head shot up. His eyes shone, and he looked like he was about to cry.
Aurora Sinclair glanced at her pocket again. "It’s in my pocket..."
"Can it stop the bleeding?" Alvin Morgan asked.
Aurora Sinclair nodded and pulled a small glass bottle from her pocket.
Written on the bottle in blue marker were three large words: External Wound Medicine.
Beta Morgan’s face lit up with joy, his gaze fixed fervently on the glass bottle. ’This must be the divine medicine of the Verdant School!’
Aurora Sinclair asked Beta Morgan for a clean small basin, poured half the bottle of black powder into it, and then added half a basin of water.
A layer of black, fibrous sediment quickly floated to the surface of the clear water. She unhurriedly placed both hands into the basin.
The black sediment gathered around her palms as if it were alive, coating her skin in a thin layer. The blood that had just begun to well up was absorbed completely.
’This medicine is incredible!’
Beta Morgan stared, motionless, at the sediment in the basin, unable to resist asking, "Aurora, can I see the medicine?"
Aurora Sinclair nodded. Beta Morgan gingerly picked up the glass bottle from the table and brought it to his nose for a sniff.
A faint medicinal aroma, refreshing and clarifying.
Beta Morgan was dying to take the rest of the medicine to study it.
"Can I use some of this on my lord?"
Alvin Morgan shot him a cool glance, and Beta Morgan’s gaze flickered, not daring to meet his.
Aurora Sinclair looked up at Alvin Morgan’s shoulder. The round bullet hole had been cut into a larger opening, and the wound was wrapped in white gauze, now soaked through with blood.
His wound was still bleeding.
A flicker of emotion appeared in Aurora Sinclair’s eyes. "Pour it directly onto the wound."
"My lord, you need to treat your wound, too." Beta Morgan carefully moved to Alvin Morgan’s side, ready to change his dressing.
’Just moments ago, during the crisis, I went against my lord’s wishes to stop him, which must have already annoyed him. Now I’m about to use Aurora Sinclair’s medicine.’
’When we get back, my lord will surely exile me. He’ll probably send me on a mission to some godforsaken hellhole.’
’But if he had to choose again, he would do the same thing. His lord’s life was more important than anything.’
Alvin Morgan didn’t move. "I’m fine..." he said calmly to Aurora Sinclair.
"Use the medicine—"
It was a rare moment of forcefulness from Aurora Sinclair. After speaking, she pursed her lips and stared at him.
Her expression clearly said, ’If you don’t treat your wound, I won’t treat mine either.’
Alvin Morgan let out a small laugh and turned slightly, allowing Beta Morgan to treat his wound.
Underneath the gauze, blood was still seeping from the shoulder wound. Although it was just a graze, the burn was not insignificant.
Aurora Sinclair added sternly, "You have to listen..." Her gaze was filled with disapproval.
She pulled her hands from the basin. They looked as if she were wearing a pair of black rubber gloves, the dark sediment clinging tightly to her skin.
She then reached out toward Alvin Morgan’s wound. A piece of the black sediment fell from her hand, landing right beside it.
The welling blood was absorbed by the sediment at a speed visible to the naked eye.
Beta Morgan seized the opportunity to pour the black powder onto the wound.
The miraculous scene occurred again. The black powder quickly turned into a dark mud, covering his wound like a plaster.
The bleeding stopped.
Beta Morgan breathed a sigh of relief and quickly re-bandaged Alvin Morgan’s shoulder.
"Aurora, how often should this dressing be changed?"
Beside him, Alvin Morgan also wanted to know.
He noticed the pain in his shoulder had lessened, but now the wound was incredibly itchy, as if a swarm of ants were crawling over it.
"Don’t touch it. Wash it off in two hours."
Aurora Sinclair instructed, then placed her hands back into the basin to soak.
A faint, pleasant herbal scent floated through the car, bringing with it a strange sense of peace.
「Two hours later...」
Alvin Morgan changed into a fresh set of clothes in the club’s lounge.
The wound on his shoulder had already healed completely, leaving behind a pink scar.
"Where is she?" Alvin Morgan asked.
"In the restaurant, eating cake," Beta Morgan said pitifully, his eyes flicking constantly toward the small glass bottle on the table.
’He was dying to know what was in that bottle of powder!’
Alvin Morgan paid him no mind, quickly pocketing the small glass bottle. His voice betrayed no emotion as he said, "Go back and switch with Dean Morgan—"
Beta Morgan grunted reluctantly in acknowledgment, staring down at his feet.
When the two of them arrived at the club’s restaurant, Aurora Sinclair was just finishing the last bite of her chocolate cake.
Her hands were completely healed, covered in the same kind of small, pink scars as Alvin’s.
She was wearing a brand-new, baggy tracksuit, identical to the one she had on before.
"Want some more?"
Aurora Sinclair shook her head, a smudge of black chocolate still at the corner of her mouth.
Alvin Morgan sat down in the chair opposite her, pulled a napkin from the table, and handed it to her. He spoke with an apologetic look on his face, "I’m sorry. You got hurt today because of me."
Aurora Sinclair shook her head again.
"Aurora..." Alvin Morgan watched her quietly for a moment. "That man was here to kill me. And he won’t be the last..."
Aurora Sinclair tilted her head, seemingly confused. "Why? You’re a good person..."
"As long as my last name is Morgan, my life will never be peaceful. Aurora, are you still willing... to be by my side... as a friend?" A self-mocking smile touched Alvin Morgan’s lips as he gazed intently at the girl across from him.
The word "friend" was already an extravagant hope for him.
"Mhm!" Aurora Sinclair didn’t even have to think about it, nodding solemnly.
"I’ll protect you!"

The Sinclair Apartments.
The doorbell rang abruptly.
A servant went to answer the door, but froze in place upon seeing the figure on the video intercom.
"Who is it?" Tanner Sinclair asked, rubbing his messy hair and yawning. He had stayed up all night with that Zeke Quincy kid and only went to bed this morning. The next time he opened his eyes, it was already afternoon.
The servant pressed the button to unlock the door and replied respectfully, "Miss Aurora is back, and she’s brought a friend..."
"Huh?"
’My little niece brought a friend home?’
’Now that’s a first!’
Ten minutes later, the sound of the elevator doors opening came from the hallway.
"Ta-da! Welcome to my little niece’s frien—" The smile froze on Tanner Sinclair’s face.
’Why is it... a man?’
’And a rather "dangerous-looking" one at that!’
Tanner Sinclair’s brow gradually furrowed, his gaze turning impolite and scrutinizing.
"Aurora, this is..."
Before he could finish, Butler Sinclair’s formal voice came from behind him. "We’re so grateful you brought Miss Aurora home. Please, come in—"
Under Tanner Sinclair’s stare, Alvin Morgan gave him a friendly nod and walked inside, carrying two bags of gift boxes.
Beta Morgan followed behind him, his arms piled so high with various gift boxes that they nearly obscured his face.
’Who are these guys?’
Butler Sinclair politely invited the two to sit down, then said to Tanner Sinclair, "Fourth Master, they are students of Professor Archer. They often tutor Miss Aurora."
Alvin Morgan offered a polite greeting to Tanner Sinclair and had Beta Morgan place the gift boxes on the floor.
They were all high-end nutritional supplements from the Warner Family.
Tanner Sinclair glanced over them casually. Some were even special-supply items that couldn’t be bought, even with money.
While the men exchanged pleasantries, Butler Sinclair went to the bedroom to report to Master Sinclair.
Upon hearing the news, Master Sinclair immediately got up and came out of his room.
After he arrived, the atmosphere in the living room became noticeably more restrained. Tanner Sinclair was surprised by his father’s and the butler’s attitudes, and he glanced at the two young men again with confusion.
’Although they were dressed in ordinary clothes, their bearing was anything but. Otherwise, the old master wouldn’t have come down personally to entertain them, nor would he be smiling so unnaturally.’
Fortunately, they didn’t stay long before taking their leave. Master Sinclair personally saw the two to the door, his cordial demeanor laced with a hidden reverence.
"Mr. Sinclair, this is my contact information. If you have any concerns about Aurora’s health, please contact me directly!"
Alvin Morgan had just briefly explained that he had accidentally allowed Aurora Sinclair to injure her hands, but he hadn’t elaborated on the cause.
"Of course..." Master Sinclair’s fingers trembled slightly as he accepted the white business card from Alvin Morgan.
It was printed with the name and contact information of Chester Greene. It was identical to the one Chester Greene had given him before, the only difference being a handwritten private phone number on this card.
After the two left, Tanner Sinclair quickly snatched the card from Master Sinclair’s hand. He looked at it and teased, "Master Sinclair, which family’s young master is this student, Whitlock?"
Alvin Morgan had told Tanner Sinclair his name was White, not giving his full name. But Tanner wasn’t stupid; Master Sinclair and Butler Sinclair were clearly in awe of him.
Other than the core members of the Seven Great Families, there was no one who could command such treatment from his old man.
’White... could he be from the Whitlock Family of Kingsford?’
Master Sinclair shot him a disapproving glare and huffed, "It’s best if you don’t know!"
"Well, you should at least tell me if he’s from the Whitlock Family, right? So I don’t offend him the next time we cross paths," Tanner Sinclair replied with a cheeky grin, which only further displeased Master Sinclair.
But he still wrote a character in Tanner’s palm: Wood.
’Wood? Are there any families among the Seven Great Families with that surname?’
Tanner Sinclair thought for a long moment, then his face suddenly changed.
He stared blankly at Aurora Sinclair, who was crouched by the sofa, intently examining the gift boxes.
Meanwhile, Alvin Morgan finished watching the interrogation video of the assassin sent by the club manager. He looked up at Beta Morgan and said, "Have Dean Morgan go to Sunstone!"
