Chapter 79: The Lust Tier Divine Construct

The morning of Kivas’ fifth day in Vaingall within this timeline dawned gently, light filtered through layers of fog and canopy haze, trailing ribbons of warmth across the sanctified glade.

Kivas sat cross-legged beside Blanchette at the edge of a rising overlook that faced the ceremonial perch.

Above the softly whispering trees, a singular column of light twisted gently down from the sky.

At the center of it stood Samael.

Her silhouette shimmered faintly in the veil of morning mist, dark ceremonial robes trailing along the stone beneath her.

She held a potion vial in one hand, the liquid inside glowing faintly with streaks of verdant and silver aurora.

A Blessed Limbo Tier Divine Construct hovered beside her, its hollow eyes fixed on the vial like a sentinel of sacred curiosity.

"What’s that?" Kivas asked, voice light, casual, but sharpened with attention. "Why it seems like you’re about to reveal something major and sham us like a shady magician?"

"This one in my hand, it’s the Potion of the Bellowing Cloud," Samael answered immediately, her voice eager but her face perfectly still. "Sarkha’una brewed it yesterday. I asked her to make this specific potion with my own calculated modification. She definitely did not disappoint."

Kivas tilted her head, blinking. "So that’s what that smell was. I thought it was some kind of grilled bark..."

Samael raised the potion higher for emphasis. "You remember the Genesis Core, yes?"

Kivas opened her mouth to reply, but Samael cut in, tone dry and absolute.

"You never forget. That’s readable."

Kivas shut her mouth and muttered, "Why even ask, then."

"Because rhetorical setups are dramatic," Samael responded without missing a beat. She pivoted slightly, eyes still fixed on the potion’s surface. "Anyway. This potion’s going to help me push beyond the limitations of the Genesis Core, or more specifically, my reach at creating the Divine Constructs."

The Blessed Limbo Tier Divine Construct standing nearby nodded in slow confirmation. "The foundational template of a Divine Construct can evolve in reference to the Divine Hive. There are multiple divine pathways that allow expansion, and enhancing the genesis matrix is one of the more stable routes."

"So we’re playing it safe, huh," Blanchette smirked, seated with her chin on her knees. "So why the dramatic presentation?"

Samael, still holding the potion, turned slightly, one hand raised with mock solemnity. "In case I go berserk. Or undergo Apotheosis. Or explode."

Kivas’ eyes widened. "You what?"

"If the potion destabilizes my genesis structure—" Samael shrugged. "—my consciousness might either detonate or ascend. Regardless, there is a possible chance that something go awry."

Blanchette clapped her hands. "Oooh, now this is entertainment."

Kivas turned toward her, horrified. "This isn’t entertainment, she might as well destroy the entire Vaingall if she experiences an Apotheosis!"

"And you two will stop me in case that happens."

"How in the world are we even going to stop a living calamity—"

Before Kivas could finish her speech, Samael raised the potion, tipped it back, and drank in a single movement.

The vial emptied with no spill.

Kivas leapt to her feet. "Gyaa! At least do it when we are prepared!"

"Why are we the one to prepare and she is the one drinking it?" Blanchette chuckled, showing not a single care for what will happen.

Five seconds passed.

Nothing happened.

Then the light cracked.

Samael’s entire form was encased in a lattice of radiant spirals.

Her limbs folded inward as if shrinking into herself, while her Divine Constructs staggered in unison. Each Limbo Tier unit flickered, their outer shells cracking slightly at the joints as they, too, were wrapped in trails of radiating glyph-light.

Kivas stepped forward in alarm, reaching toward the light. "Samael! Are you—?!"

"BOO!"

Kivas screamed, falling backward onto the grass as Samael emerged from the dispersing light, arms spread with faux menace and a jester’s grin splitting her usually calm face.

"DON’T do that!" Kivas shouted, clutching her chest.

"I think I just got a decade younger," Blanchette commented with a lazy smile on her face, but she might have been frightened for real inside.

"You barely look any older than a young girl!" Kivas screamed again.

Samael chuckled with a sharp, gremlin-like giggle before straightening her posture. "But now that the theatrics are over... allow me to introduce the result."

She raised her hand.

The remaining glyphs scattered like ink into the air, spiraling inward toward her palm before exploding outward in a circle of black dust and void-threaded light.

A silhouette began to form.

It grew rapidly—taller, broader, its shadow casting far across the overlook.

The limbs elongated first, arms shaping with clarity, then legs, torso, and wings—no, not wings. Something else. Something different.

When the light subsided, the construct stood tall.

Three meters in height. Made from the same scorched ash and black dust as the Limbo Tier.

But this one was more elaborate. Its physique was unmistakably humanoid but profoundly exaggerated—shoulders adorned with scale-like armor plating, gauntlets ridged with horned knuckles.

A pair of winged arms unfurled from its back covered in gleam seaming between the dragon scales.

The face was partially sculpted, unlike the Limbo Tier. Clearer, more defined—but the upper half was obscured beneath a helmeted blindfold, edged with symmetrical ridges—where its eyes should be, only soft light glimmered behind the metal veil.

The chest was provocatively exposed, draped in silky twin strands of fabric that looped from a collar to just cover its center. Except for those chest, stomach, and the hip area, the rest of the body parts were armored, yet ornamental—an embodiment of elegance distorted into power—and possibly, obvious lewdity and degeneracy.

Its legs ended in tall, needle-like limbs, triangular in shape, built to pierce or elevate or both. It hovered slightly above the ground, the pointed ends never quite touching the earth.

Its hair mimicked Samael’s two-toned crimson and black straight hair, adorned by the helmet on the top like that of a valiant Valkrie.

It stood still, radiating a low hum like a prayer too ancient to vocalize.

Blanchette blinked slowly, tilting her head. "This one’s... definitely more intense."

Kivas stared in disbelief. "So, I’ll assume that you have unlocked a brand new tier for your Divine Construct. How close am I toward hitting the mark?"

"Bullseye," Samael smiled proudly, arms folded behind her back. "This is the Lust Tier Divine Construct!"

Kivas threw her hands up. "Of course it is! Of course it’s called Lust Tier!"

Blanchette chuckled, her voice lilting. "Ignoring the provocative aesthetic, it does feel far more potent than the Limbo Tier."

"As of now, I’m using the combined information processing power of my Divine Constructs to analyze the Lust Tier Divine Constructs," Samael said as she looked up what was essentially a 3 meters tall version of her own extension. "It seems like the Lust Tier is specialized in manipulating the desire of living beings, huh."

"Well, despite the obviously lewd appearance, the Divine Construct doesn’t showcase any problematic exposure? Like, there is nothing in that area, it is smooth."

"Kivas, you’re quite the pervert."

"I’m assessing what is essentially the extension of my own soulmate! You don’t want the extension of your soulmate to be a commando in front of everyone."

"I don’t really mind, if you’re the one who asked for it," Samael casually replied.

"You’re not helping my case here!" Kivas’ eyes then widened as if a realization struck her. She narrowed her eyes, trying to rack her massive library of eternal memories. "Wait, Limbo... and then Lust. Wait."

Her expression shifted.

She stared into the distance, mind ticking rapidly. "Samael. Does the word ’Inferno’ mean anything to you?"

Samael tilted her head. "In what context?"

"In my world," Kivas said slowly, "there’s a literary structure called Dante’s Inferno. It’s an ancient poem that describes the nine circles of Hell." She raised her fingers, counting. "Limbo is the first circle. The realm of the unbaptized and virtuous pagans—sorrow without torment. Lust is the second circle. Those overcome by desire."

Blanchette raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "You’re saying...?"

Kivas nodded. "Maybe because the whole Genesis Core thing comes from me specifically, it used the thing that I knew as a reference to structure its existence. In this case, Samael’s progress on the Divine Construct conjuration is greatly related to the concept of the nine circles of hell.

"Does the Limbo Tier Divine Construct have any semblance of affirmation for this?"

"We couldn’t really explain the entire rule of the Genesis Core to our Divine Hive," said the Limbo Tier Divine Construct. "But now that the truth is revealed by the Celestial Avatar, we can confirm that the majority of our conceptual existence was created through your familiar essences."

"Such is the truth determined by the long-lost history of the void." The Lust Tier Divine Construct unleashed its speech. Its voice was very radiant and could easily pierce the hearts of those vulnerable to it, and possibly those of low resistance stats. "Unlike the Limbo Tier, the Lust Tier design and concept greatly reflect their Divine Hive. In this case, my abilities and specialty manifested from our Divine Hive’s mischievous desire to uncover the Celestial Avatar’s heart."

"Wait, I didn’t give you the pass to share that information," Samael said in confusion.

The Blessed Limbo Tier Divine Construct appeared to be flustered in this situation. "It seems like the higher the tier of the Divine Construct, the more independent and spiritually required for the Divine Hive to suppress and fully control them."

The Lust Tier Divine Construct smirked. "It might be safe for you to not conjure any more constructs of my tier, Divine Hive." It then appeared to be glancing at Kivas, despite its eyes being covered by the metallic blindfold, shining a promiscuous smile. "They can go rogue afterall, and I might snatch your beloved Celestial Avatar if you don’t keep me on the leash~"

"I’ll utterly murder you if that happened," Samael said with a deadpan face, but a voice filled with malice. "And then extinguish you, then kill you, and then destroy you."

"That’s a lot of killing," Kivas wryly chuckled.

Despite the potentially problematic attitude, the Lust Tier Divine Construct was still a great addition to Samael’s arsenal.

And if in the future she were to become powerful enough to completely prevent the Lust Tier from going berserk, Samael could mass produce them.
