Chapter 63 - A Rival love's unexpected care

"Issei-kun," she sobbed, her voice muffled in Issei's embrace. The man named Issei remained silent, but his hand gently stroked the back of the girl who was his fiancée.

Besides praying to God, there was nothing else they could do. They could only surrender everything to God, the owner of life.

The clatter of footsteps echoed down the hospital corridor, accompanied by heavy breathing, as they rushed toward the operating room located on the third floor. A few minutes earlier, they had asked one of the hospital staff at the reception desk about a patient named Aira Ishikawa. Yamato, her assistant, also accompanied them. Half an hour ago, Tetsuya had received news from Aunt Emiko, who contacted Yamato to inform him that a major problem had occurred and that Aira had been hospitalized due to severe bleeding.

In addition to feeling panicked, Tetsuya was also worried about his cousin, Renji, and how he would react upon learning about Aira's condition—especially if the mastermind behind today's horrifying events was his grandfather.

It wasn't an unfounded accusation to say that Kaito Ishikawa was behind this incident. A few days before today's events, Tetsuya had received information from his men at the Ishikawa mansion that the head of the Ishikawa family was planning something, though the exact details were unknown. It turned out that his grandfather had attacked Aira and even planned to kill her.

Because of today's events, a bloody war could break out within the Ishikawa family. This time, it was completely unavoidable, even though Tetsuya had been trying his best to prevent a repeat of the tragedy that occurred nine years ago.

Now, Tetsuya was left with a headache, trying to figure out how to calm Renji's anger. Before Aira's situation could even be fully resolved, a new problem had arisen, leaving him utterly overwhelmed.

Tetsuya was truly baffled by his grandfather's actions, which showed no regard for the significant consequences they would have on the future of the Ishikawa family. What had driven Kaito to act so recklessly, awakening the sleeping demon? Couldn't the old man avoid causing trouble until Tetsuya's death so he could die peacefully and in peace?

If only he hadn't turned off his phone today out of annoyance and frustration from being contacted by the parents of students involved in the defamation case against Aira, things wouldn't have gotten so chaotic. Tetsuya had initially thought he could spend the day peacefully and undisturbed, but instead, a storm had hit. Thankfully, he didn't suffer a heart attack.

When Tetsuya arrived at the operating room on the third floor of the hospital building, he was met with a rather shocking sight.

Tetsuya's face was filled with extreme shock, his eyes wide with horror and fear as he stared at Issei, who was slumped weakly on a long bench near the operating room. Issei's clothes were stained with blood, and next to him, a beautiful girl with a ponytail was fast asleep.

"Issei-chan~" Tetsuya shouted in panic, rushing over and pulling Issei's body, causing the girl who had been comfortably sleeping on Issei's chest to fall and wake up in shock.

"Ouch~" Saki groaned as her face hit the hard stainless-steel bench after Tetsuya pulled the backrest.

Her eyes were half-open, but her mouth grumbled in annoyance, scolding the person who had dared to disturb her sleep. Besides, who would dare wake someone up while they were sleeping?

Weren't they afraid of being attacked and roughed up?

Not far from the girl, Tetsuya sat, intently examining Issei's entire body from head to toe. He even turned Issei's body left and right to check which part of his body was injured, causing his clothes to be soaked in blood.

"Where are you hurt, Issei-chan? Tell me," Tetsuya's face was filled with panic and fear.

Issei smiled slightly in response to Tetsuya's overreaction. "I'm fine, Mr. Tetsuya," he replied calmly, without panic.

"How can you be fine? Look at your clothes. They're covered in blood," Tetsuya said anxiously, his eyes glistening with worry and sadness for Issei.

"This isn't my blood—it's Aira's," Issei explained, which only increased Tetsuya's panic.

"W-what?! Aira!!!" Tetsuya exclaimed, utterly shocked. Suddenly, Tetsuya's body was pushed away from Issei, even though they were in the middle of a conversation.

"Don't try to take advantage of the situation, Pale Face!" Saki scolded, annoyed that her sleep had been disturbed and that Tetsuya was trying to flirt with her fiancé.

If this weren't a hospital, Tetsuya would have already been dealt with by Saki. She even felt the urge to grab his neatly styled hair and mess it up beyond recognition.

Don't call her a former Yankee queen if she couldn't handle a delicate man like Tetsuya Ishikawa, who acted more like a woman. Luckily, his handsome face was above average, so it made up for that one flaw.

Tetsuya still hadn't fully realized or acknowledged Saki's injured condition.

Saki positioned herself in front of Issei, hands on her hips, glaring fiercely at Tetsuya, who had arrived looking sharp in an expensive black suit complete with a matching tie. He clearly portrayed himself as a businessman, a stark contrast to his usual appearance when he visited the café.

"Oh, so you're here too, Pony Girl!" Tetsuya exclaimed, pretending to be surprised by Saki's presence at the hospital.

"You couldn't see someone as big as me? Are you blind, Pale Face?" Saki shot back, refusing to back down.

"Aish~ don't talk nonsense. My eyes are fine—the proof is that I can still clearly see Issei-chan's charming face," Tetsuya teased, throwing a flirtatious glance that only made Saki angrier.

At this rate, it was inevitable that the two of them would end up in a full-blown argument. The people around the three of them stayed silent, choosing to sit and watch while listening to their conversation, including Yamato, who stayed out of it, not intending to help or interfere.

"The drama is about to begin," Shintaro muttered excitedly, having long been a loyal spectator.

What was happening between the three of them was exactly like a scene from a TV drama. Usually, in such stories, the female lead is fought over by two handsome men. This time, it was the opposite—a tomboyish girl and a handsome man were fighting over a beautiful man, and both had already declared themselves love rivals and enemies.

"If only there were popcorn, this would be even more fun to watch," Shintaro muttered wistfully, imagining eating a large box of caramel-flavoured popcorn.

"Should I get you a soft drink, too?" Arashi asked as if they were at a movie theatre.

"Great idea. I want a soda," Shintaro replied with a happy smile.

'Good grief!' Fujin thought to himself.

Fujin sighed quickly and shook his head in disbelief. He didn't want to comment on his two strange friends and chose to pretend to be asleep.

After all, how could they be arguing in the middle of such a tense situation, especially in a hospital? It was as if there was no time or place, and they could have chosen another day.

While they were busy arguing, Saki accidentally revealed her left shoulder, which was wrapped in bandages, as the jacket she had been wearing—borrowed from Arashi—slipped off. Tetsuya noticed this immediately. Suddenly, Tetsuya fell silent, deep in thought, forgetting their argument and focusing on Saki's shoulder.

Tetsuya's eyes narrowed sharply. "What happened to your left shoulder, Pony Girl?" he asked, his voice filled with concern.

"Don't change the subject," Saki replied, refusing to answer. She was still annoyed because her sleep had been disturbed, and Tetsuya was picking a fight with her.

"Answer me, Pony Girl. Who hurt you?" Tetsuya asked, his voice slightly raised, which startled and irritated Saki.

"Why are you yelling at me?!" Saki snapped, not accepting his tone.

Tetsuya's hands clenched tightly at his sides, his gaze murderous. Luckily, his eyes didn't turn red because he could control his emotions. Still, he really wanted to cut up the person who had hurt Saki and throw them into a pool full of sharks.

Tetsuya's anxious expression made Saki, and especially Issei, feel uneasy because it was unusual for the pale-skinned young man to act like this.

"Don't look like that, Pale Face. You're scaring me," Saki said

"What actually happened? Why are you two like this, especially Pony Girl? How did she get hurt?" Tetsuya demanded an explanation from Issei.

Issei was momentarily stunned by Tetsuya's unexpected question, especially considering his usual attitude and behaviour toward Saki, which was always confrontational whenever they met.

"Saki's shoulder was grazed by a bullet while trying to save Aira, who was shot," Issei explained honestly.

"What did you say? Grazed by a bullet?" Tetsuya asked in disbelief.

"Young Master Tetsuya, there's no need to worry. The doctor has already examined and treated her wound. Luckily, Saki's injury isn't serious or deep, so—"

"What were you doing that she got hurt? You were there with her!" Tetsuya interrupted, his voice raised, shocking everyone present, especially Saki.

"Hey, Pale Face! Why are you yelling at Issei-kun? I got hurt because I wanted to protect Aira, so it's not his fault," Saki defended, not accepting her fiancé being blamed, especially in front of everyone.

"Still, he was negligent in protecting you," Tetsuya said, sounding furious. Saki was confused by Tetsuya's sudden anger and concern for her condition after they had just been arguing.

"To me, Issei-kun did his best to protect me, so stop blaming him. Besides, what's with your attitude? Suddenly acting all worried—aren't we rivals?"

"Yes, but I feel sad if you get hurt. So, from now on, don't put yourself in danger. It's Issei-chan's job to protect and take care of you, not the other way around," Tetsuya advised, though to Saki, it sounded more like an order.

"Yamato!" Tetsuya called out, half-shouting, forcing Yamato to cut short his conversation with his wife.

"Yes, Young Master?" Yamato replied as he approached

"Take Saki to the recovery room so she can rest and make sure she gets the best facilities," Tetsuya ordered his assistant.

"My injury isn't serious, and I don't want to be hospitalized," Saki firmly refused, not wanting to be treated because she wanted to stay and accompany Aira until the C-section was over.

"Even if it's just a graze from a bullet, you're still injured and need to rest," Tetsuya replied, his concern evident in his eyes.

"This time, I agree with Young Master Tetsuya," Issei chimed in, not defending Saki this time.

"But I want to wait until Aira's C-section is over, Issei-kun," Saki pleaded with her lover, putting on a pitiful face.

"Young Master Tetsuya is here, and Young Master Renji will surely arrive soon."

"But—Kyaa!" Saki screamed as Issei suddenly picked her up and carried her away from the operating room, following Tetsuya's earlier order.

Behind Issei, Yamato walked ahead, clearing the way. While being carried, Saki kept shouting and struggling, wanting to be put down, but Issei ignored her and continued to carry her to the recovery room as Tetsuya had instructed.
