Mythical Three Kingdoms-Chapter 1642 - 1583: Jumbled Thoughts
After Sunx Ce was the first to use the legion attack without reservation, all other military generals, as if afraid of being underestimated, also displayed their signature techniques.
The battlefield was filled with waves after waves of large-scale attacks, wild and unrestrained. The ferocious attacks quickly shattered the Xianbei army. The Xianbei Commander under the command banner was obliterated along with the banner after being hit by three simultaneous legion attacks.
Since the time of the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors, for the first time on a battlefield, two-digit Inner Qi Manifestation Generals appeared unilaterally. The power unleashed by this gathering of top-tier martial forces was fully displayed with army support.
"Refreshing!" Sunx Ce laughed as he stabbed a Xianbei chiliarch to death, then no longer continued fighting. The situation had already entered a garbage time where the collapsing Xianbei lost all spirit and pride, leaving only headless fleeing.
"Sunx Bofu?" Zhang Xiu, his cloak covered in blood, rode over and asked while looking at Sunx Ce.
"That's me. May I know who you are?" Sunx Ce twirled the long spear in his hand before putting it away, looking at Zhang Xiu as he asked.
"Zhang Boyuan, neither yours nor his strength has accumulated to the extreme of Inner Qi Manifestation, but both of you are truly strong." Zhang Xiu, enveloped in purple radiance, slowly dispersed his inner qi, then looked at Sunx Ce and Ma Chao as he spoke. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
"Hey, let's have a match sometime!" Sunx Ce said to Zhang Xiu, who was slightly panting after gathering his inner qi.
"We two are not suitable for fighting." Zhang Xiu shook his head, then rode off.
As Zang Ba passed by, he cupped his hands to the two in greeting but said nothing further, having nothing much to communicate with Sunx Ce.
"Wei Yan, I didn't expect to see you again." Sunx Ce excitedly twirled his long spear upon seeing Wei Yan, then slung it over his shoulder, "You've reached this level too."
"You've grown stronger." Wei Yan seriously looked at Sunx Ce and said. Back during the Jing-Xiang times, when Sunx Ce sought revenge for his father against Liu Biao, Wei Yan and Wen Pin both clashed with Sunx Ce.
"Guan Ping, Guan Tanzhi, meeting General Sunx." Guan Ping, shouldering the Green Dragon Saber, looked at Sunx Ce and Ma Chao. The last time Ma Chao was in Ye City, he had already achieved Inner Qi Manifestation, while Guan Ping, at the same age, was still refining qi, but now he could face both of them.
Ma Chao reached out to Guan Ping, and as their hands clapped, the small amount of inner qi that remained clashed, causing Ma Chao to show surprise, while Guan Ping smiled easily.
"Let's spar sometime." Guan Ping said to Ma Chao, although he wasn't familiar with Sunx Ce, he was with Ma Chao, the brother-in-law of Zhao Yun.
"I never imagined that you not only advanced but became so strong." Ma Chao looked seriously at Guan Ping; when they clapped hands earlier, Ma Chao clearly felt Guan Ping's terrifying speed of inner qi recovery.
"I must not fail my father's teachings." Guan Ping said to Ma Chao, "I must go now. By the way, Military Advisor Fa is also in the north; you'll meet soon."
Ma Chao's expression suddenly darkened, but then returned to normal; Sunx Ce noticed this very clearly, [Fa Xiaozhi and Meng Qi, huh?]
"Zhang Wenyuan meets the two generals." Zhang Liao cupped his hands in salute, not engaging much with the two, as he already had his own path. But seeing Zhang He's sullen eyes, Zhang Liao sighed, "Jun Yi, sometimes you need to let go."
"I cannot let go." Zhang He said, enunciating each word as he looked at Zhang Liao.
"Then you need to learn to forget." Zhang Liao patted Zhang He on the shoulder as he passed by. They had gotten along well enough in Bingzhou, so Zhang Liao gave him a bit of advice.
Watching Zhang Liao's back, Zhang He was silent for a long time before saying, "But I also cannot forget!"
With the hearing of Inner Qi Manifestation, these words naturally reached every word into Zhang Liao's ears, but he only shook his head and said nothing.
"Let's go." Sunx Ce patted Zhang He on the shoulder and said; he understood Zhang He's situation well enough, and there was nothing more to say. He was a real man; otherwise, he would not have accepted him easily, as he needed generals and strategists, but more importantly, loyalty.
Xu Shu and Liu Ye exchanged a few words; although not too familiar, Liu Ye was of Liu Bei's main family and could be considered an elder, so had always held significant power under Liu Bei, whereas Xu Shu was said to be new, but in terms of foundation, Xu Shu's credentials were deeper than Liu Ye's.
"It seems the plan has no issues." Xu Shu sighed and said to Liu Ye, "Thinking back, Master Jia must have thought of all these from the start."
"Wen He?" Liu Ye's eyes flickered; he disliked this feeling very much, "He is indeed formidable. I wonder how he is handling the northern Huns' battlefield."
"Probably a draw and retreat; I see little chance of victory. However, after our forces unite," Xu Shu observed with a sudden smile, as the troops subtly formed two divisions yet had an unseen dividing line amongst them, "I somewhat understand Marquis Chen now."
Liu Ye raised an eyebrow, not quite following Xu Shu's leap of thought.
"Only the banner of the Han Dynasty can bring these people together. If it were on a domestic battlefield, we would likely never see a war gather such a number of Inner Qi Manifestations, if at all possible it would be on opposing sides." Xu Shu said with a face full of emotion.
Liu Ye remained silent, complex emotions in his eyes as he surveyed the field split into three groups, yet previously united against their enemies; finally, his gaze landed on Sunx Ce.
"I think Zichuan is right, but his perspective is too idealistic." Liu Ye slowly said, while Xu Shu just shook his head and remained silent, seemingly not on the same side with Liu Ye.
"Perhaps." Xu Shu agreed, then said nothing more, and Liu Ye also did not speak further, as their conversation did not flow.
"Send a message to the Lord and Strategist Jia." Liu Ye instructed Chen Dao, who nodded, then ordered to have the trained hawks ready, tied the prepared cipher, and released the hawks.
"Boyuan, go inform General Xiahou; I will go catch prisoners in the previous location." Pang De instructed Zhang Xiu after defeating the Xianbei; the once united generals acknowledging their Han army identity had again fragmented.
At this moment, probably only Sunx Ce, still unaware of the situation, was keeping the atmosphere alive. Otherwise, the three factions might have already departed due to mutual apprehension, but now Pang De was slightly overwhelmed by the bizarre atmosphere on the field.
"Okay." Zhang Xiu nodded. Even if not highly intelligent, he sensed the current atmosphere was wrong. With a common enemy, everyone followed Sunx Ce's call and united powerfully, but without a common enemy, the rivalry among the three parties immediately surfaced. Only Sunx Ce retained a broad mind to continue engaging with everyone.
