Chapter 483: Chapter 214 Dragon Knight_3
Boom!
Wayne kicked open the door to the study and, upon seeing three important figures, spoke hurriedly, "I was just on a date with Veronica in the grove when suddenly the moon distorted. Who cast that barrier? Could it be that Austin’s rebellion has been exposed?"
"Who was on a date with you!"
"So you really did rebel!"
"..."x2
With one sentence, the tense and serious atmosphere in the room vanished instantly.
Austin rolled his eyes in exasperation, told Wayne not to spout nonsense, and looked up at the sky while fiddling with an ancient silver coin, "The mansion’s barrier originates from the Magic Department. Although I’ve made some modifications, it’s only a matter of time before the Magic Department breaches it. Get ready for battle..."
"The Devil possesses the vessels of the seven Great Demon Kings, as well as the Void Spawn, and The Forgotten from the Red Leaf Forest Asylum..."
Austin relayed the intelligence and analyzed the Devil’s possible methods, "He alone defeated the Holy Light Knights. His own power is likewise formidable. According to reliable information provided by the Knight Order’s leader, Herman, the Devil calls himself Guyin and is a familiar of the Night Tyrant, Setoras. At night, his abilities will be significantly enhanced..."
In the midst of the conversation, black slime spewed from the Void Spawn corroded the defensive barrier, and clumps of white flesh squeezed through the gaps, plummeting from a hundred meters in the air.
Like raindrops, the white substance touched the lawn, the forest, and the roof of the mansion, rapidly gathering towards the nearest center, and one by one, humanoid white creatures rose to their feet.
The defensive barrier still stood, but it ignored the humanoid life forms expelled by the Void Spawn. Indeed, as Austin had said, there were traitors among the Magic Department higher-ups. The Lando Family’s magic defenses had been thoroughly exposed to the enemy, reduced to something utterly dispensable.
Austin clutched the ancient silver coin tightly, looking at the pockmarked lawn with a face as dark as water.
Anyone’s face would look unsightly if their home was being torn apart.
Wayne was also furious. After a hundred years, all of these would be his property. Rounded up, it was as if they were dismantling his home right in front of him.
Megan stayed close behind Austin, not waiting for the order to strike, she subconsciously looked towards the lady of the house, Hefei.
As the Lando Family’s chief steward, Megan cared deeply about the household.
Hefei shook her head, "No need to rush, let’s wait and see. The enemy hasn’t shown their hand yet."
The implication was clear, Megan was the Lando Family’s trump card.
Curious, Wayne glanced at Megan, blinked, and sent a baffled look toward Veronica.
Seeing her, Veronica returned a puzzled look.
What’s with the butler?x2
You’re the young lady, and you’re asking me?
How do you fill the role of an heir if you know nothing? What’s the use of you!
The two stared at each other, eyeball to eyeball, so close they were almost forehead to forehead.
Splat!
A mass of white pressed against the window and growled ferociously at Austin, its twisted face just outside. At the window, a magical array’s protective glow unfolded, blocking the white figure from entry.
The creature rammed into the barrier several times, failing to break through. Its body disintegrated into writhing white foam that slowly seeped in, insidiously worming its way through the protection.
Wayne stepped forward and waved a hand to unleash a burst of searing flame, turning the trickling white foam at the window into ash.
The curtains caught on fire.
Austin glanced at Wayne with disdain and blurted out, "The repair costs will be deducted from your allowance."
"I have an allowance?"
Wayne’s eyes widened in disbelief—he had an allowance, and he didn’t know about it.
Austin turned his head away, feigning deafness and ignored everything as if it hadn’t happened.
"Megan, where is my allowance?"
"The master transferred it directly into your account, he just didn’t tell you about the account," Megan confessed.
This is outrageous, it’s bad enough you’re skimming from the Death Knights’ cut, but now you’re taking mine too!
Enraged, Wayne rolled up his sleeves, ready to confront Austin when suddenly, a cascade of white foam spewed from the Void Spawn rained down from the sky like a waterfall, crashing into the forest and grass, creating ten-meter-high waves of white foam that surged toward the mansion.
Megan’s eyes gleamed fiercely, and upon receiving a nod from Austin, she leapt from the windowsill, raising her hands to mold a thought-formed invisible barrier, blocking the increasingly high tide of white foam.
The barrier was scaldingly hot, twisting the air as it radiated heat. Upon contact with the white tide, it instantly sparked a large volume of steaming, foul-smelling smoke. A chaotic clamor of noise sharply rang out, assaulting everyone’s nerves.
To prevent the mansion behind her from igniting in the high temperature, Megan put up another barrier. Between the two, the air was instantaneously vacuumed out.
Hefei, from her vantage point, saw the tide growing fiercer; green dots ignited in her eyes as vibrations of life spread with her thought, passing Megan’s barrier and dropping eight massive seeds into the air above.
Enveloped in the glow of life, these seeds fell into the foam tide, and the moment they were tainted by the void’s corruption, they violently sapped the vitality within the foam, allowing themselves to take root and vigorously grow.
Wayne peered out curiously, only to see gigantic vines, each a hundred meters thick, emerging from the white ocean with budding green leaves, growing exuberantly.
In the blink of an eye, fist-sized fruits turned two meters in diameter and then rapidly rotted, scattering more seeds into the white sea below.
Drawing life from the body of the Void Behemoth, the magic of nature’s faith was as eccentrically powerful as ever. Wayne was sure this was no ordinary faith magic, but rather contained Divine Arts with a very high faith component.
Battling on her own territory, restrained at every turn, Hefei’s anger was ablaze. She wasn’t one to simply defend; she leapt out of the window, conjuring the Divine Arts to summon the projection of the Nature Goddess.
Hummmmmm—
A piercing scream suddenly spread out as Hefei saw the world upside down and, alongside Megan, fell from the sky into the realm of the Void Spawn below.
Looking back at the retreating mansion, Hefei’s pupils constricted, realizing she’d been tricked.
"Roarrrrr—"
Next to her, Megan’s body gradually swelled as high-temperature white mist expanded rapidly, shrouding a large expanse of the space in shadow.
The next second, a huge white dragon claw reached out to catch Hefei in its palm.
This was a Giant Dragon covered in white scales, over a hundred meters long. Its streamlined body was aesthetically pleasing, not at all bulky. On its forehead, a bunch of bright red scales was particularly conspicuous, together forming a complex pattern.
"Megan, the enemy’s target isn’t you. We’ve been exiled, break through the spatial barrier ahead."
Hefei leapt up, flickering behind the Giant Dragon. White scales from the palm spread over her body, her pupils turning to vertical slits as long spears and greatswords, built from the Four Elements, lined up behind her, fanned out like a peacock’s tail.
Dragon Knight!
