Chapter 232: Chapter Two Hundred And Thirty-Two:It’s Just Her, Alone Against The Cruel World.

Miguel stood by the bedside, watching Vanessa sleep. Her face was all swollen, she has been crying her heart out ever since it’s been just a day her father had left her, and disappeared into thin air just like her mother did.

Just at this happening, had she wished and hoped that her brother, Adrik would come visit her just like she claimed that she had been seeing him, but then Miguel didn’t believe her. He figured out that it was just stress, and she was trying to form a pigment of her imagination that it’s any normal thing that her brother, who was dead, would come for her.

But then after what had happened so far, Miguel has no other option to believe her because just like her too, her father had believed that Lucifer is real, and after her grandfather had came back without him. He knew that truly, this family was one fucked up family.

His boss, Jason had told him everything that transpired between him and Alex, for him to act the way he has done in the past three months, and now he’s forced to take up the responsibility of being both a motherly and fatherly figure to his daughter.

Her grandfather hasn’t gathered the courage to come and see her, he’s disappointed in himself that there’s nothing he could do even after calling the police on Alex, it still couldn’t change the fact that along with his daughter, Jason has disappeared into thin space.

Just like he had the influence to pull a search warrant in less than seventy two hours, Alex has easily bought his way out leaving him confused on what to do, because without Alex’s help. There was no way he could actually know exactly where the young girls parents were.

Miguel sighed tiredly, he took his handkerchief and wiped the tears that fell from Vanessa’s eyes, even as she slept she was still crying and it hurt him. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

If this was all about Adrik, Miguel didn’t care but then Adrik’s real father, being then king of hell taking away her mother doesn’t make sense. It had hurt his girl and brought her down to her lowest.

There’s not any progress to show that her mother would be coming back, not her father. Even her brother, Adrik, who she believed is going to come for her, seemed to have abandoned her. It’s just her alone against the cruel world.

"M..mom." Vanessa whispered.

She was having a dream, and it was a really bad one depending on how she was shaking which made him rush and tried waking her up.

"Vanessa, baby. Wake up." Miguel chided her, shaking her slightly to wake her from the torment she was passing through. Her hand fisted the bed showing how critical and aggressive whoever she was seeing in her dream was with her.

"Vanessa!" He called adamantly, not planning on giving up. He isn’t planning on giving up on her anytime soon, and for her father placing him in charge of her well being only meant that he knew about the both of them.

So, it would be really disgracing that he comes back from where he went to, and finds out that he wasn’t able to carry out such a simple task he had given her.

She sat up with a jerk, the third time he called her name. Her eyes glanced around the room, as he picked her up in his arms.

"It’s alright, I’m here, babygirl." He cooed, pecking her temple as she cried when she realized that she was still in her room.

"Mom, I.. I.." she tried speaking but it was really difficult for her to speak.

"It’s okay, I’m here for you, Vanessa and am not going to leave." Miguel assured her, and he meant that even if it was going to cost his life he doesn’t mind.

He loves this woman.

It doesn’t matter their age difference, love had no rules and regulations to it as long as the both of them were aware of how they felt towards each other.

"I saw her, Miguel. I saw my mother, she looked so pitiful, she needs help, Miguel. She..’’Vanessa tried explaining what she saw in her dreams, her mother was calling out for help and when she tried to offer her one where she was trapped, it felt as if they were two worlds apart.

"Vanessa, listen." Miguel called for her, but she refused to listen. She was still in a world of her own.

"She’s..." She still persisted.

"Vanessa, listen please!" He shouted, and this time it did the magic. It shut her up but at the same time she jumped in his arms, so scared of him shouting at him.

"I’m sorry, my love.I didn’t mean to shout at you, you are scaring me and i couldn’t help it." Miguel explained, but she started shedding tears at his response.

"Miguel, you have to believe me..."

"Ofcourse I do, sweetheart. I believe every one of your words, but am doing what’s important here which is protecting you." He said, cupping her cheeks but she shaked her head in disagreement.

"I’m not the one who needs protection, my mother..."

"Vanessa, can you please stop talking about her please! You are hurting yourself." Miguel said, but she pushed herself up from his lap."I’m sorry.."

"Let me go!" She cried, trying to leave her room but he dragged her back to bed. The last time he let her out she had run away from the house without any good plans of finding her mother.

It’s not like her mother was on earth, and she knew that too.

"Vanessa, please. You are hurting yourself. It’s been months."

"It’s all my fault, I should have been kind to her. It’s my fault." She kept on saying, which left Miguel with no other option but to take the injection he has set aside and pricked it at her arm, and she wasted no time passing out in his arms.

"I’m really sorry, baby girl. But i can’t lost you." He muttered, helping her in the bed, pecked her lips and with one glance her way he left her room.
