Natural Disasters Strikes: I stockpiled like crazy!-Chapter 253: Let’s kite this frog
Once Weihao successfully captured its attention, his motorcycle accelerated.
Meanwhile, inside Nanzhi’s Mind Palace...
When her mental projection entered her Mind Palace, a soothing sensation washed over her from head to toe, easing her throbbing headache. Her mental energy slowly replenished.
Amid the calm, she decided to check the two newly unlocked monoliths.
She had grown tired of the repetitive training methods of the previous monoliths. This was perfectly timed.
Nanzhi had expected brutal combat training, but her Mind Palace had transformed into a maze and obstacle course.
She barely had time to process it before the walls of the maze began moving, attempting to crush her.
This Mind Palace of hers was truly a villain!
She had only intended a quick check, yet the training method was unexpectedly engaging.
Time raced by.
Nanzhi woke with a violent jolt. When she opened her eyes, she was startled to see Baoyin beside her, not Weihao.
Then, a distant croak drifted to her ears.
Nanzhi’s head snapped toward the sound.
The system and Baoyin quickly briefed her on the situation.
"Where’s Weihao?" she asked Baoyin.
"He left you to me and jumped out the window. You know how heroic your boyfriend is—he must be planning to lure the big toad away—"
Baoyin didn’t finish her sentence. Nanzhi had already swung open the window and leapt out.
Before leaving, she placed a black duffel bag filled with firearms and grenades on the seat.
"Baoyin, I’ll be gone for a while. Take care."
"Hey, wait... Sister Nan!" Baoyin couldn’t stop her. Nanzhi rolled cleanly on the ground and disappeared into an alley. Baoyin lost sight of her immediately.
Because everyone’s attention was on the leaping frog in the distance, they were slow to notice her disappearance.
Except for Feng Ran, he was speechless.
They really were a perfect match—even down to jumping off the bus in the same style!
"Xiao Nan is gone too?" Uncle Wang asked. "This can’t be. It’s dangerous outside. We should search for her. What if something happens..."
Bingwen, Hei Qian, Feng Ran, and Baoyin let out dry laughs.
Rather than Nanzhi being in danger, it was more likely them.
To Uncle Wang’s confusion, Xiao Nan’s friends didn’t stop the bus; they just sped away.
"Don’t worry, Uncle Wang. Sister Nan and Brother Lin are capable. They can handle it," Baoyin said confidently.
Uncle Wang remained uneasy.
Nanzhi waved her hand. A motorcycle appeared beside her.
As she prepared to hit the road, she sensed a presence nearby.
As the big toad’s croaks and the sound of wheels trudging the road faded into the distance, Lu Jian slowly stood behind a counter, his movements stiff and cautious.
However, when he tried to leave, he froze. The door wouldn’t open!
He pushed, but an unseen force blocked it from the outside.
Now it was his turn to taste his own medicine. He remembered the entrance being clear!
So why wouldn’t the door budge?
Could it be that when the frog leapt amok, debris hurled in front of the shop?
His space ability had restrictions; he couldn’t store installed objects like doors or gates, and he couldn’t store anything unless he touched it directly.
The walls of the shop were not glass but metal roll-up shutters. He didn’t have the strength to break through.
It only meant one thing: he was trapped.
Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! He gritted his teeth.
Outside the broken shop, Nanzhi let out a snicker before hitting the road, planning to return later to settle the score.
After some time, Nanzhi finally got a glimpse of the big frog. A system prompt appeared.
[Tier 4 Early Stage Parasitic Vine Frog]
[Attributes: Water, Acid, Self-Healing]
A Tier 4! And it had a self-healing ability!
Her eyes narrowed.
Weihao skillfully maneuvered the motorcycle to dodge falling debris while sending a thick bolt of lightning at the frog.
The big toad hadn’t expected Weihao to possess such power. It gave a low, painful croak as its tongue was electrocuted. "Kek!"
Since it was a water-attribute alien beast, lightning dealt double damage.
But under Weihao’s startled gaze, the wounds on its tongue began to heal.
F*ck. He couldn’t help but cussed in his mind.
"RIBBIT!"
After the wound healed, the frog counterattacked.
It lashed its long tongue.
Weihao used an overturned car as a ramp. His motorcycle flew in a low arc, narrowly dodging the tongue.
The twenty-meter tongue, weighing half a ton and coated with sizzling green acid, smashed into the asphalt where the overturned car had been seconds earlier. It pulverized the road into flying shards and sent molten chunks of metal spraying into the air.
If Weihao hadn’t dodged, both he and his motorcycle would have been destroyed.
"RIBBIT!"
The frog relentlessly chased him, casting spinning water blades and launching water cannons from its mouth, leaving gashes in the street and sending clouds of mist into the air.
Weihao ducked low, narrowly avoiding a spinning spray that would have shredded his side. He summoned a roaring lightning bolt that used the water cannon as a medium, striking the frog’s mouth like an arrow.
"Kekk!"
The frog shrieked violently, convulsing from the electrocution.
But again, its regeneration healed the wounds instantly, fury reaching its peak.
Lin Weihao pressed his lips together.
Its leaps cracked the street open, smashing storefronts, buildings, and traffic lights. The motorcycle skidded as Weihao leaned into the shockwaves, tires barely gripping the fractured asphalt.
The gap between them stayed razor-thin, close enough that Weihao could feel the wind tug at his jacket.
"RIBBIT!"
The frog’s spinning water blades nearly clipped him, cutting a chunk from a streetlight and sending sparks flying.
The road ahead split into two forks. Weihao chose the route through the business district opposite Heyuan Road, where they had encountered the mutant buffalos.
He needed to find a way to counter its healing ability.
Weihao steered through the dense streets of the business district. Rows of hotels lined the way, and debris flew everywhere from the frog’s rampage.
Suddenly, a loud explosion rang out.
He glanced in the rearview mirror. A hotel on the edge of the street had collapsed onto the frog.
"RIBBIT!"
The frog let out a painful shriek as green blood flowed from wounds inflicted by the falling debris.
From a parallel street, a motorcycle appeared beside him. It was Nanzhi.
She curled her lips with excitement.
"Weihao, let’s kite this frog."
(A/N: For those who don’t know, kiting in gaming is a combat tactic where a player keeps an enemy at a safe distance while continuously attacking—moving, retreating, or repositioning so the enemy can’t land effective hits.)
